We're just days away from the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which means our WAYP is likely to take a very consistent shape for the first time in eons. We should make the most of the variety this time, then, eh?
Aaron Bayne
I'm off to Alton Towers this weekend, so no gaming for me! Although I'm tempted to bust out the Nintendo Switch for a bit of Tetris Effect on the way down.
Jaimie Ditchfield
After finishing Marvel's Spider-Man for the 100th time, I'm continuing my preparation for the sequel with yet another replay of Miles Morales. Also, I will be spending a lot of time with a mystery game I cannot talk about right now, so my weekend is absolutely stacked.
Khayl Adam
Total War: Pharaoh is out on PC, and games in that series are high priority for me. On PlayStation, the plan was to stay strong until Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 next week, but Lords of the Fallen is a tempting prospect…
Scott McCrae
I'm out at EGX so I'll be playing the Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth demo multiple times no doubt. I also have Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on my Steam Deck to keep me warm.
Stephen Tailby
I've been playing a lot of stuff for review purposes lately, so I'm looking forward to just chilling out with something easy-going this weekend. Perhaps a Playlist in The Crew Motorfest, or a few runs in Rogue Legacy 2.
Another week, another enormous variety of games — it really is a testament to the sheer spectrum of software on Sony's consoles these days. What are you playing this weekend? Let's keep the content rolling in the comments section below.

Saturday already?? PSVR2 for me though!!
Just Starfield. Haven’t touched anything else since release. I’m about 110 hours and have only done three main missions yet. Visiting Neon for the first time now.
I've played the vanilla version of Persona 4 back on PS2 but I'm now playing Persona 4 Golden for the first time. S'Pretty good so far!
I’m pretty close to the platinum in Sea of Stars, so mostly that.
AC Mirage and maybe some Klonoa. Might dip into Sonic Frontiers again soon.
Assassin's Creed Mirage and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. On Laptop Im playing Robocop Rogue City demo which is great nostalgia as I loved the movies. Spider-man 2 just around the corner so looking foward to that
Still on another thorough playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 before I start Phantom Liberty. Just finished the Sinnerman side quest. Powerful.
Finished off Separate Ways this week. I absolutely love all of the RE remakes. I'd like to go back and finish off 7 but I really do miss the over the shoulder perspective. I paused Shadows of Rose because I realised it would probably hit harder after finishing 7, but now I'm tempted to finish Rose's story off first. I wonder if I'll really be missing that much?
Also tried out a bit of Honkai Star Rail. Seems good but something about it being FTP makes me hesitant to really get into it. Shame it's not a full release as it seems fairly solid.
Working my way through Trails In The Sky SC as usual.
Other than that, more BG3. In Act 2 at the moment. Still absolutely loving the game. Feels like I'm a long way from the end still!
Finishing off FF 7 Crisis Core Reunion and maybe some Baldurs gate 3 with my girlfriend but there are so many options.
I'm well in to Act III of Baldur's Gate now. I'll be playing more of that.
Definitely won't be finished it before Spidey 2 arrives.
(So much for my plan to finish Tears of the Kingdom by Christmas...)
Rugby World Cup quarter finals are on today too. I'm a nervous wreck.
I’ll be fart hopping to a platinum in goat simulator 3 on the 5 and complementing classmates in bully scholarship edition on the Adbox subscription X.
Really just killing time with slay the spire and cyberpunk until like a dragon gaiden is out
I am currently in the middle of Homefront: The Revolution. I’m liking it quite a lot. I’m a big fan of the Far Cry gameplay formula and this replicates it quite well. Also playing Puzzle Quest 3 on the side.
I've come to terms with the fact that I won't finish my most progressed Baldur's Gate III playthrough before Spider-Man 2 drops, so instead I'm going to mainline the story in AC Mirage and maybe fit in some of its side content before I go all symbiote on Friday.
Lies of p and i'm hoping to finish it today so i can start getting seriously into lords of the fallen which is whispering away at me to play now (play meeeeeeee) but i'm strong and will resist until i've freed krat from the insane puppets! Have a great weekend everybody 👍
Gonna play fort solis why I wait for spiderman
Replaying cyberpunk 2077 - what a great game even better the 2nd time .
Will stop Friday midnight
I 100%'d Cuphead yesterday, so I'm back to playing Jedi Fallen Order.
I was planning to finish Final Fantasy XVI last weekend, but I had a severe Crohn’s flair-up on the Sunday and ended up in hospital needing IV meds. Once I returned home, I managed to put a couple hours in, but on Thursday, I tested positive for Covid and now I feel like I’ve been hit by a train.
It feels like I’m cursed at this point, but in the unlikely event that I am able to play something, I’ll definitely put that time into wrapping up FF16, which by the way, is easily my favourite game of the entire year so far. I’m not saying it’s a 10/10, but it isn’t far off either.
Still on MH World Iceborne, too much fun. Grinding in Sekiro to acquire skills which is feeling highly repetitive, this is why Elden Ring is the best because you have a huge open world to go grind. Some HFW and Valhalla or GT Sport probably.
Baldurs Gate 3 ...GOTY, simple as !
Forza Motorsport on XBX, a bit underwhelming tbh, but early days
A GT7 beater it ain't
Age of Wonders 4 on PS5 - strategy game of the year ! Seriously guys, I can't recommend this game enough....and Push Square haven't even bothered to review it. Crazy !
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
I'm up to chapter 5 in The Quarry and need to get my but in gear to get it finished by the 17th (or more realistically the 23rd if I put my ps5 offline) before it leaves extra. Its so schlocky, im way into it!! Played a decent chunk of Cocoon last night, once you get your head around the inception layers you can get to, it's proper mind blowing! I'm not getting to play it yet but CEX got blasphemous 2 on switch back in stock so I've managed to get it ordered and will hopefully arrive next week. Have a good weekend folks!
@The_Pixel_King Hope ya feeling better buddy,I can relate with the hospital visits and picking up the covid on the way out too!
I bought Eternights in the sale and gotta say I'm loving it!Definitely will keep me happy till the next Persona turns up.
Also 67 hours into Lego Skywalker Saga and at least another hundred hours to go at this point!
Chapter 6 of The Calisto Protocol which is excellent and it's a shame it doesn't still well.
On the Switch I'm playing Pikmin 4 and nearly hundred per cented each area.
Hoping to finish off BG3 so I can get to Phantom Liberty DLC but obviously don’t want to rush through. Next Friday will be more about Mario for me than Spidey. While Spiderman 2 looks great the original and Miles addition were recent enough games for me that I think I may wait on it since it looks like more of the same with some improvements.
Was playing Trails in the Sky but don't think I'll finish before Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros Wonder so will give Honkai Star Rail a try while waiting
Just started AC Valhalla so probably 100+ hours to go. AC is my comfort food and I'm enjoying it immensely but know I'll burn out at some stage.
Cyberpunk 2077 – finished Phantom Liberty. Loved it, love the game. Really liked one of the new endings, the one where in the end V is a face in the crowd. Will return for more Cyberpunk in the future, feels like its be a game I´ll return to every now and then. If just to give Panam a hug or two 😊
The Callisto protocol – so gave this a shot, thinking I´d drop it quick but I actually enjoy it quite a bit even if its far from a perfect game. I like the story, the gameplay, the setting. I also like that for a horror game its not scary. I mean not scary at all. You can tell when all the jump scares are coming so its no surprise and the rest isnt scary. Which is good, if it was I wouldnt be able to play it. Im such a wuss these days 😊
Warhammer Darktide – been having some fun with this. It def needs a patch or two, and a better structure for missions imo, but its old school fun and the Warhammer setting is pretty cool.
Cocoon – really good game. Clever puzzles, boss fights can be a bit meh but other than that its great.
Red Matter – although I havent started playing yet I loved Red Matter 2 so this should be great. If you have a PSVR 2 you should play these two games 😊
But mostly I´m waiting for Spider-Man 2. Even pre-ordered, turns out I had a bunch of points in Playstation Stars so got it practically for free. Thats great! Not as generous as Microsofts reward program but hey, its something!
Grinding some Sport mode races and also credits via course experience on GT7 so I can buy the last legendary car and get the platinum, again 🤭
On PS5 just finished Callisto Protocol and close to finishing AC Mirage before Spider-Man 2 next week can't wait. On Xbox I'll try Forza Motorsport more seems OK but prefer the Horizon games.
@mac_da_man did you manage to get all the trophies on red matter 2?
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a sure bet, love that crime dramas. Some runs in the hard but addicting Rogue Legacy 2, and I will decide between Assassin's Creed Valhalla, whose plot is heating up, Hogwarts Legacy (only the other 3 houses trophies remains) or Dragon Quest XI S (closer and closer of the platinum). Finishing something this month to get new games, that's the life now.
I’m just passing some time until Like a Dragon comes out, so I’ll be continuing my time through AC Mirage which I’m enjoying here and there.
@Mikey856 that I did, almost missed one collectible near the end though.
I kinda wanna finish the Callisto Protocol for my 20th platinum, even tho I'm not really enjoying the game so far.
I also wanna continue my Sea of Stars journey and maybe go back to Horizon Zero Dawn.
Im playing one of the greatest games ever in the incredible bioshock infinite.one of the best looking and best games ever in the excellent cuphead with the delicious last course dlcs.the amazing horror games the instant classic resident evil 7 gold edition.and the fantastic and instant classic dying light the following.my Pittsburgh Steelers💛🖤.got the week off.excellent win last week.i will be watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy shows in Sanford and sons.good times.and saved by the bell.word up son
Baldur's Gate III. Finishing up Act II. Number I Game of the Year
100+ hours in, exploring everything and not a single bit of bear sex. It's almost like people overreacted 🫢
Welp, SM2 is just around the corner. It's already preloaded so I'm pretty sure I wont be finished with Octopath Traveler 2 by launch. I did finish/run out of time on the demo of Star Ocean The Second story Renake which convinced me to get the game. Give it a try if you havent! SE really doing the lord's work by putting out these demos. Happy gaming!
Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways
After finally finishing Mass Effect: Andromeda, I started the RE4 DLC briefly yesterday. I know I'm going to love it, so I look forward to digging into it and likely finishing it this weekend.
I finally stopped playing Breakpoint, and thanks to PS Plus I am trying out Saints Row. 16 hours in, plenty to do, enjoying exploring and moving things on slowly. It's definitely not as ridiculous as the older games. I think this will keep me happy well up to year end 🙂
@mac_da_man oh cool so it’s an enjoyable platinum run you’d say?. I find it really frustrating when devs attach really long winded platinum trophies to VR games. I love VR but I can’t do it for hours on end lol
@Wazeddie22 Aww, thank you my friend. Means a lot. Sorry you have to go through the hospital stuff, too. It really isn’t nice at all. I’ve had multiple surgeries and always end up with a complication of some sort.
Just cracked the Professor case in Lost Judgment and am also on the final chapter of the DLC (Kaito files) so am hoping to get that all wrapped up ahead of Spiderman next week
@Mikey856 its a pretty nice and easy platinum. Would recommend reading whats missable though 😅
@mac_da_man awesome. Thanks man I may make this my next VR game while I wait for the superb looking Arizona sunshine 2 whenever that’s gonna land
Just more Street Fighter 6 for me until spidey drops.
Happy gaming everyone
Xbox - dark pictures the devil in me, starfield
Playstation - death stranding
Nintendo - new super Mario bros (3ds)
Pc - dead island 1
Wailing on the Iron Golem’s junk in Dark Souls 1 remaster. I think we’ll have a bit of BG3 tomorrow (finally got to Baldur’s Gate after close to 200 hours). Have a great weekend folks!
Wrapping up my GOTY Lies of P. Then I’m either going to check out Lords of the Fallen (May wait on more performance patches) or Forgive Me Father while I wait on Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder.
@Ravix, grin and bear it😂
@JVCIOM70 I loved my platinum run on breakpoint. Fantastic game that but then I’ve always had a soft spot for the lethargic gameplay of GR
@Northern_munkey very much in the same boat. I just hit Chapter 9 and what a spike in enemy damage! It’s like a whole new game again. I wanted to do NG+ but Lords looks too tempting.
This weekend I’m still playing Cyberpunk 2077. Last week, I praised this game immensely and my thoughts have only grown fonder, so much so I put it in my top 10 of all time. I’m near the end of the base game, and I’m trying to finish up all of the “romance” questlines that I can before I head into Dog Town.
My goal is to beat and platinum Cyberpunk before Spider-Man 2 releases. Unfortunately, I’m having issues unlocking a couple of trophies. First is “Two Heads, One Bullet” - my sniper rifle refuses to kill two people at once despite having a high tier 5+ rifle. The other, although it can be multiple, is finishing all gigs and NCPD missions in a district. Hopefully, this isn’t a bug or, if it is, it gets patched relatively soon.
When I’m not gaming, I’m getting back into reading — a hobby that I’ve sadly put on the wayside for too long. A coworker suggested I start reading books set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. I started with The Horus Heresy - Horus Rising. So far, it’s pretty good, and overwhelming. The lore is fantastic, though. I have a feeling I’ll be getting lost in this world for a long time to come.
I'm on a bit of a gaming break at the minute but I finally downloaded Roblox after years of the kids asking to get it, so I've been watching them play that. What a world we live in today.
I’m playing persona 3 and AOT2. Great weekend for gaming! 😁😁
Just going to keep plugging away at Mirage hopefully this weekend. Didn’t get much time to play it this week, but it’ll be my focus til that mammoth title comes out next week… Mario Wonder! (And I’ll play Sonic Superstars next week too). But, yes, Mirage is my focus and I hope I get enough time into it where it’s completed by the time Alan Wake 2 comes out.
Still finalising my first Baldur's Gate 3 run on my PC. I thought I might just finish it this week, but circumstances prevented me from doing so, however I hope to complete it next week.
No doubt about it, BG3 will win every single award that it is nominated for. Such a fantastic game. Almost a once in a lifetime sort of game...
Trying to start the S+ hardcore trophy on RE4R, been frustrating so far
I took some days off from gaming due to my workload but returned back to it last night...still on Elden Ring and long time will be heading now to Raya Lucaria Academy, I'm really enjoying this masterpiece.
Also grabbed AC Mirage on day1, but will probably save it for X-mas holidays.
Wish you all a great weekend!
My first full weekend off in a month, so ill be playing Final fantasy 16. I dropped off for a while but I'm back now and close to the end. It's in my top 5 favourite FF games now. I'm close to the platinum so will hopefully have all trophies soon except for the second playthrough to complete on final fantasy difficulty
Coming towards the end of Act 1 in Baldurs Gate 3. I can’t believe there’s a game that might top TOTK for my GOTY.
Got RE4 remake on standby incase I need a break (which seems unlikely so far)
Still Baldurs Gate 3 for me, absolutely fantastic, probably in my top 5 games of all time. I'm 95 hours in and near the beginning of Act 2. Looking forward to Spider Man 2 but may have to wait for a bit whilst I finish BG3.
Glad to see you are enjoying BG3, @GuttyYZ. I too took about 100 hours to hit Act 2, and I am now at around 250 hours and am in the home straight. I'm guessing 20 to 30 more hours. 😂
For me, it is easily the game of a long gaming lifetime. Larian are going to need a warehouse for all the trophies and awards coming their way, and they deserve every one of them...
Played a bit of Lords of the Fallen. Refunded it. That game is not ready for release. I'll try again in a few months and it get it discounted somewhere.
PS5 - Assassin's Creed: Mirage
Xbox Series X - Starfield, Forza Motorsport
Going through my first playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 Remake's campaign.
Just reached the island in ch 13. So I still have at least a couple more sessions before the end
It won't be Sonic Superstars.
That's for sure.
There’s a lot already out and soon to be coming out that I want to play but I just can’t justify full price for games anymore when so many release in such sorry shape. That said, I’m going back and working on getting 100% on some of the older Call Of Duty games on PS3. Right now I’m on Black Ops 2 and World At War.
Bought Saturnalia and Amnesia: The Bunker on sale so I'll be playing those. Figured out why I kept getting disconnected from Honkai, it was my wifi extender. So some of that as well. Hockey season started so I'll be watching the Bruins tonight too!
Resident Evil 2 (Nintendo 64) - I play this every Halloween and I haven't missed a year yet!
Doodle God Blitz (Windows Phone) - Decent time killer so far...
Just finished all the endings of nier replicant. Great Game. Love it more than automata.
And now just hopping into Rift apart.
Getting real value from extra tbh
Just finished AC Mirage, so not much going on. Still playing FFVI pixel remaster on Switch which I adore. Otherwise, as Red Dead Redemption 2 is close to its 5th anniversary - I want to start my second playthrough on the Series X, before eventually playing Red Dead 1 again on PS5
I might as well try that Star Rail game and see how that is.
Still working through FF16. It’s quite a lovely game. Just oozes with high end production value. I’m really liking Clive.
I dropped in on Humanity to do a couple levels last night. It gets quite difficult quickly. I’m on sequence 3. I still really enjoy it for a change of pace game or if I just have 30 minutes to get a quick level or two done
@Darude84 I have played only Starfield since launch too, and I love it. I have to hurry up though, it is almost time for Spidey 2!
I think you will enjoy Neon! In terms of quest design, it is what I was kind of hoping Cyberpunk 2077 would be like. Neon is obviously not as detailed as Night City-but I kind of like it better?
I'm plaything through Alan Wake Remastered in preparation for Alan Wake II. Might try and finally play the Control DLC in between.
Just started chapter 8 of Judgement. Excellent game hopefully finish it before Spider-man 2!
Have a fab weekend everyone.
@Fiendish-Beaver It's great isn't it? It's remarkable that I'm not even remotely bored by any part of it yet, even though 100hrs would normally be considered long for a whole game lol. I know it is a big game but I'm not sure I anticipated just how big it is. When I looked on How Long to Beat and saw that people smashed it in about 120hrs total I thought I must be going mad so glad to hear someone is in the same ball park as me.
Cyberpunk, Starfield and some NBA 2K24. I really need more time. Spider-man and Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be there way too soon... Help!
Some casual Pillars of Eternity 2 for me. Love this game!
Im playing Elden Ring. Its my first souls like and im loving it...cant stop thinking about it!
Going full on in The Crew Motorfest throughout the weekend because next weekend is Spidey 2
Lost Judgment. Finished Judgment on Thursday. Such a fun game. Cannot wait to see the improvements from the first to the second. I am betting there are major gameplay upgrades which I’m pumped for!
For Judgment on PS5, I have 70% of the KamurochoGo or whatever done. But I got burned out. Last night, I got frustrated with trying to beat Virtua Fighter 2 or whatever mini game. Still haven’t beat the bonus round 😭😭😭 So what I have left is: Legends playthrough, VR missions, mahjong/shoji, drone races, dating girls ten plus years younger than me, gambling games, Outrun game, three side cases and Sega Theater on Nakawhatever Street mini games. It’s going to be a grind so I’m going to take my time with it.
Haven’t played anything in like 2 weeks; I quit smoking recently and it’s been a battle.
Maybe I’ll play some RE4, or continue my playthrough of BG3
NHL 24 (much improved, at least in my opinion).
MLB 22 (23 was a letdown to me in comparison)
Uncharted 2 - very close to completing
Started up Devil May Cry 2 for the first time yesterday on PS3 and I don't think I've ever been quite as depressed playing a game in my entire life: the music, atmosphere and character designs are all so good....and then the gameplay has just been completely and utterly butchered by comparison with terrible camera angles, a woeful lock-on system and it being practically IMPOSSIBLE to pull off even the slightest combos with the way your moveset works (WTF DID THEY DO TO STINGER 😭).
....that being said, I'll most likely push through it and get it beaten by the end of next week (especially given the entry that comes after this) XD
@Rangers420 I finished Callisto Protocol last week at 2nd attempt. Underrated in my opinion
I’ve been playing They Are Billions again to get all the maps as a save got corrupted and I recall enjoying the larger map and the one in winter. It’s the kind of game that is so challenging in a way that you have to be thinking two steps ahead of each attack. I always seem to switch off and end up watching a squad of men mowing down zombies when I should be building up the population, army, defences etc.
Other than that I will be playing Battlefield 2042 for the rest of the weekend having just finished watching Resident Evil Death Island. The new map is brilliant, a positive shot in the games arm compared to the previous maps that have been right stinkers in all honesty.
Honkai star rail pokemon.
@Westernwolf4 Yeah, I’m just visiting it and already enjoying it. So many more interesting missions there and I already had like 50 to do. I can’t imagine finishing this game in the next 100 hours.
Funny thing my retry of Cyberpunk is waiting after this.
I finally, fully finished Cyberpunk, still a little wobbly in places but that 2.0 update turned from a borked mess to something actually worth playing. (Phantom Liberty was a lovely -tragic- cherry on top)
But now I have turned my gaze back to Monster Hunter Rise, I bought Sunbreak to play with a couple friends who bailed and I'm bored of waiting for them so I'm just going in solo (being able to bring Followers along now is brilliant)
My birthday at the start of November and there i shall finally get Baldur's Gate 3!
In a gaming lull until Friday
Other than Splatoon 3, I've been playing the Metroid Prime Remaster. Been a long while since I've played Prime.
I don't want to get started on anything too crazy big cause I want to be able to start Mario Wonder and Spidey 2 this Friday.
Interesting week this week. In terms of games y’all know this the big week. Sonic Superstars, Super Mario Wonder, and Spider-Man 2 of course. Some months don’t even get that good but these all come out in one shot. Pretty insane. As for this week tho another crazy week of being able to cycle out a different game each day. I’ll admit tho I think I’m gonna drop that idea for a couple weeks as there’s definitely some games I wanna knock out easy. Like I’m pretty sure I’ve been sitting on the end of the Sonic Frontiers update for a week now. Once I beat it I could reinstall something like Street Fighter 6. Man I really do genuinely love Street Fighter 6. As for what I’m thinking on playing I did some Detective Pikachu Returns and FFXVI and I might skip the switch later and just focus on beating this Frontiers update. Otherwise I dunno maybe more Rain Code? Got half early shifts and half late shifts this week with the weekend off so I think a gumbo of games is fitting. Ya know just a mixture of like Fire Emblem Engage: Fell Xenologue, Tears of The Kingdom, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Baldur’s Gate 3, maybe some Mortal Kombat 1, trying to beat RE7 and Disney Illusion Island too. Also definitely wanna get the Resident Evil 4 Remakes Seperate Ways DLC in this Halloween season I feel it just fits beautifully. As for anime this week we do have some fall recommendations this week. We got Frieren, Spy X Family, Shangri La Frontier and many many more but honestly their titles are like super long hahahahahaha. Podcasts this week are simple too. Remap Radio, Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into the Aether and Giant Bombcast. Have a good weekend everyone and as always Happy Gaming.
Finishing up the platinum for AC 2 remastered. Still a fun time and not too long to complete right before Spider-Man 2.
After many hours of RE4, PRO, I decided on some RDRO, PRO, after about a year absence. Everything was just like I left it. Same camp, same outfit, and same horse. Also the same demented weather guy that only allows clear weather for about 10 minutes before the overcast, rain, and fog are dialed up.
@Dusk_Actual , don't give up the battle to quit smoking. Try different methods and meds. Cigarettes are obscenely expensive, addictive, makes everything and places stink, can't smoke anywhere, and slowly but surely compromises breathing and health.
I guit after surgery almost twenty years ago. Patches didn't work for me.
