We hope everyone had a Good Friday, but we're now into the weekend proper. There have been lots of big games lately, so we assume those are still very much front and centre, but then there's the Stellar Blade demo to keep you busy, too. Lots to play as usual — what will accompany your chocolate egg feast?
Aaron Bayne
After being near bored to death in Rise of the Ronin, I decided I still wanted to scratch that Samurai adventure itch, so I've been delving back into Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PS5.
Graham Banas
I've had Oxenfree II installed on my PlayStation for a good six months, and this weekend might finally be the time to play it. Plus, I have to finish up all my challenges for the Easter event in The Finals. Should be a fun weekend!
Robert Ramsey
It's weirdly all about New Game+ for me this weekend. I'm on New Game+ in Dragon's Dogma 2, and I want to start New Game+ in Persona 3 Reload in order to unlock the last few Trophies. Getting around to both would be a tall order, but now that things are (relatively) quiet on the review front, I'm looking forward to a bit of relaxation.
Scott McCrae
I've defected to the Nintendo Switch camp this week thanks to Pepper Grinder. But I'm also playing some Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in preparation for Sand Land.
Stephen Tailby
I've not really played anything this past week as I've been under the weather, but now I'm (more or less) back to normal, I'll be resuming my playthrough of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. I'm only on chapter six, so there's still plenty to do, but I've been loving it thus far.
We're all playing something different this Easter weekend, but what about you? As always, let us know what you're firing up in the comments section below.

More Resident Evil 3 Nemesis!
RDR2 in First Person View
Alien Isolation for some "chill" time
Happy gaming everyone!!!
@Zuljaras
Great find with the GameCube version of RE3.
Have both RE2 and RE3 on Dreamcast & GameCube myself.
God of War Ragnarok. One of the best games (if not the best) I've ever played. I simply don't want it to end, so I'm glad I have the DLC to beat (and then wait for the second DLC).
Finishing Hogwarts Legacy: Got one more beast, crypt, and a couple more field guide pages (plus the final stages of the main storyline) and I will turn the page on an excellently realized and gorgeous looking Harry Potter experience.
Assuming I finish that in two or three days, it's on to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown: haven't played an entry since Sands of Time but going back to its 2D roots has me interested.
Still exploring every inch of DD2. I honestly feel like this game doesn't even need a story. I can play for hours while only interacting with merchants/vocations NPC's.
Still working my way through Rise of the Ronin. Hoping to also play Helldivers 2 and potentially a bit of South Park: Snow Day!
More PS3 bargain basement goodness for me. I've got "Deadpool", I've got "James Bond:Blood Stone", I've got "Prototype 2" and I've got enough chocolate to sink a cruise liner. All that and my annual Easter screening of the Monty Python "Holy Grail" and "Life of Brian" double feature. I just wish it wasn't so bright and sunny outside. I feel like a proper heel for wanting to stay indoors in front of the telly. Oh well...
Still obsessed with FF7 Rebirth. Almost mopped up required minigames for 7 star hotel. Admittedly nearly threw my controller out of the window trying to get the high score on Crunch off.
Other than that, best game i've played in last 10 years. Probably best FF game since FF9
@ShadowofTwilight I finished RE2 on the N64 but if I get the chance, I will get it for GC as well
@Zuljaras
Oh man, I'd love to own it on N64 one day. I have Resident Evil Gaiden on GBC at least and the original on the SEGA Saturn but the N64 of RE2 would be the crown jewel lol.
This weekend is all about the last two chapters of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I've run afoul of the G-Bike bug for the final side quest and it is a ball-ache because it blocks me from two trophies but I can return via chapter select when SE patch it.
I'll probably make a start on Hard Mode as soon as I finish the MSQ but if I don't then I'm going back to Pacific Drive to finish that off. I was also considering returning to Baldur's Gate 3 to finish the Platinum, but with Larian announcing that no major DLC is inbound but they have some new evil endings planned I may wait for those so I can finish everything in one fell swoop.
FF 7 Rebirth - just finished the game, and what a game it is! So much fun to play, great story, goofy and silly at times but powerful and emotional at times. Perfect combo. And what a world they’ve created to explore and some fun minigames and QB. This game is high on my all time favorites now and does so many things better than Remake. Simply awesome!
Stellan Blade demo - very impressed, this is going to be a good one!
Nintendo - More Xenoblade Chronicles X
Xbox - Finishing off Grabbed by the Ghoulies
PS - nothing currently
Alone In The Dark For Me Massively Underrated
As the previous weekends, I will be defending Super Earth but this weekend mostly destroying Automotons!
My Indie collection 3 arrived for the Evercade too so a bit of Donut Dodo for me too for nostalgia's sake!
Happy gaming folks & enjoy the chocolate
Going to start Banishers if there’s any time for it and perhaps some Dragon’s Dogma 2. That’ll likely be the story for me for the majority of April.
It’s been a busy week for me the last week in gaming. Finished Rebirth, “beat” Balatro, and enjoyed the Stellar Blade demo all in one week.
After ive done some morning fishing and a little afternoon DIY i will be replaying the Stellar blade demo and i really need to get back on to Rebirth after dropping off half way through chapter 9. Ive got the new Planet Zoo and really been enjoying it but im at a point where i dont really know what im doing now. Im ok at completing objectives in the pre built parks (tutorial) but now ive got to start from scratch im all over the place 🤣🤣
Still Rebirth for me I'm up to chapter 10 and was getting a bit burnt out on it tbh so i bought Banishers Ghosts of New Eden last night and absolutely loving it so far ended up playing for hours.
Exploring everywhere in Dragon's Dogma 2. The game excels when just going off on a jaunt.
On PS5 i will be continuing with the excellent FF7 ReBirth and Unicorn Overlord, I've also downlaoded Eiyuden Chronicle Rising as I need to play that before Hundred Heroes comes out.
On Switch I will be playing some more Princess Peach Showtime which I've enjoyed more than I thought I would. I will hopefully be completing Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes as I'm on the last chapter. Once that's done I will be starting the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC
@ShadowofTwilight It is so easy to play because you have the option to disable tank controls. It is awesome! I am sad that RE3 Nemesis do not have this
In RE2 if you press down the character goes down on the screen. Even if you switch screens he/she will continue in the facing direction.
4th playthrough of Asura’s Wrath before a further playthrough required for the platinum. I loved it initially as the story and style is to my taste… but all these runs are starting to take a toll 😅
Rebirth and battlefront classic collection for me. Still very curious to see rebirths sales figures as its an amazing game with a lot of work put into it I hope it does well as the developers deserve it. All I can find is an old article about it's sales dropping in the first week in Japan
Another run through of RE3 Remake, a few defeats in Inscryption Kaycees Mod and hopefully finish doing form quests on Nobody Saves the World.
Happy Easter and happy gaming people.
Dragons Dogma 2, Ronin, Rebirth and Stellar Blade demo on Ps5. Game pass Open Roads.
Switch PARANORMASIGHT
A bit blown out today, but I’ll be playing some more Pillars of Eternity 2 and finishing off the (pretty great) Stellar Blade demo.
In the mood for some OG FF7, too.
Im still playing the amazing titanfall 2.im still playing the excellent yakuza like a dragon.i will be watching my boston Celtics 💚🖤 play.and i will be watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy shows in Sanford and son.martin.good times.the Jeffersons.and saved by the bell.word up son
Its my birthday today so got my family coming round. Once I've shooed them away I'm going to chill with some Final Fantasy 8 or Rune Factory 4, which I picked up in the PSN sale. Happy weekend everyone!
Stellar Blade Demo!!!
Oh and of course more of Dragons Dogma 2; clicks with me in a way the first game did not.
And more Rebirth. I’m on Chapter 4 only because the kids have been sick and of course DD2 keeps asking me to explore!
@SolarSpirit86 it's not bad is it. Just wish they had made the 2 player's campaign's more unique
Unfortunately we had a death in the family last week so I've not been really into any games but I'll try and get back into Final Fantasy Rebirth. Will probably try the Stella Blade demo too.
i’ll try to make progress on days gone this weekend , the games taking a while to get going so i guess im still at the beginning.
I’ll be running around in chapter 9 looking for bouncy mushrooms in ff7 rebirth, playing space squash in c-smash vrs and trying not to punch me ceiling while climbing in horizon call of the Nicolas Cage.
@LN78 nice! showing the ps3 some love with some 7th gen classics
@LN78 This is definitely the comment of a man living his best life 😆
In that order. It's the long weekend so I'll probably get caught up with Shogun too.
Edit: Dragon's Dogma II, Bulwark, Unicorn Overlord and Rise of the Ronin also need to be played at some point...
@Kanji-Tatsumi happy birthday mate👍.@naruball you do know gow:ragnarok is just a ps4 game right. Just look at the last gen graphics🤣. I'm on dragons dogma 2 this weekend and the foreseeable apart from spreading a bit of democracy on helldivers 2 of course. DD2 is my new all time fave rpg and I'm loving it. Have a great weekend everybody 👍
Got the lovely bank holiday off, so I’m heading towards the end of Persona 5, mopping up trophies. Before I move onto Persona 5 strikers. Currently in a very Atlus mood.
Carrying on with my Dragons Dogma 2 playthrough! Whilst also playing some Sackboys great adventure with my son. Nay also try out the Stellar Blade demo, if i get a chance too. Happy Gaming All!
Yesterday i platted motorstorm RC on PSVita and then i just started my motorstorm RC on PS3 and just like that! 2 platinums! High Recommendation! 1-2 day easy double platinum!
Playing Gran Turismo 7, Dragons Dogma 2 and Prince of Persia: the Lost Crown. DD2 is quite an addictive game. I'm also chipping away at Capcom Arcade Stadium and focused on the shooter games at the moment.
A bunch of board games. Im on vacation. Happy Easter!
Oxenfree II is excellent, enjoyed it quite a bit like everything Night School does. Playing Dead Cells and Hollow Knight, might get into the Stellar Blade demo at some point too.
Had a hankering to play FFX for a while so playing that. I’ve got a physical copy of FFXVI coming today (£30 which was a good deal). Have a great weekend folks!
@Northern_munkey hahaha. I know, right? How dare I enjoy a ps4 game on ps5
Glad to see so many people enjoying DD2.
I'll try to finish Observation this weekend. It was hard to get into at first but then it just clicked and it's so much better now. Hope to see more on what they are cooking for Silent Hill: Townfall.
Dragons Dogma 2 - I have mixed feelings about this game. I do wish there were more fast travel options. I enjoy exploring and opening up the map but when I have to go back and forth between the same locations I do find myself getting frustrated. It’s still probably the best game I’ve played in ages despite that.
Also HD2 which I think is going to be an ongoing love affair. It’s the first time I’ve ever got into an online multiplayer game.
Helldivers 2 and Dragons Dogma 2
Need you ask?
Nothing but Demon's Souls for me. Never thought I'd get hooked this much. I already adored Elden Ring, so I'll probably play Boodborne and the Dark Souls Trilogy as well.
I haven’t played much this week due to work and family visiting from out of state. Unfortunately, I won’t have much time this weekend, either. If I manage to squeeze in some gaming sessions, I’ll be attempting to finish Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
I’m currently on the last chapter and it has been an evocative experience. I’ve put in roughly 105 hours into the game, with all side quests and world region activities completed. In a way, I’m excited to see the end of the journey, but sad as well, as I’ve grown even more attached to these characters than I did in the PS1 original version.
Once I finish Rebirth I plan on starting Rise of the Ronin. Everything I have read about this game seems to be exactly what I enjoy about Team Ninja games, but expanded upon in ways I’m thrilled to experience. I’ve also been reading James Clavell’s Shogun. I finished part one a few days ago — nearly 700 pages, and I’m a quarter of the way through part two — so my mindset is honed in on this era of history that should be a good time to delve into.
@Kanji-Tatsumi happy birthday!!
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Gladly continuing on the journey...
@naruball glad you are enjoying ragnarok. Awesome game and it's one of my favorite ps5 titles.
Welp I've given up in the Octopath Traveler 2 platinum... for now..... ( secret boss wiped the floor with me) so been playing through the "Story" mission in Foamstars
Tried the Stellar Blade demo it's pretty good.
Hoping to dive into FF7 Rebirth on Monday
Have a great weekend people!
@Cherip-the-Ripper @Northern_munkey Cheers guys 👍
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Finally made it to the end!
Kingdoms & Lords (Windows Phone) - Just started on this one.
Lode Runner Classic (Windows Phone) - Also at the end of this as well. Then it will be time to delete and move onto the next one in the list...
Elden Ring for me. A bit late to the party and after trying it, not getting hooked and then trying it a second time, I am now well and truly into it! Busy exploring the Altus Plateau just now before moving onto the next area.
Also will play some Gran Turismo 7 for some downtime.
Stasis: Bone Totem - pretty interesting game so far, kinda bummed out that it doesn't have a Plat trophy though.
Sinking City - on the last mission now, did all the side quests so I'm ready to finish this.
I got the plat for Taxi Life over the week so I needed a new game to play while I listen to music and No Man's Sky is doing nicely.
The plan was more Dragon's Dogma 2 on the Portal while I spend the Easter weekend at the in-laws, but their Wi-Fi is failing me... so I'l probably default to Civ VI on my laptop. Ah well.
I'm mostly playing The Great Ace Attorney 2 and some Yakuza 3.
@Ravix Her twisting neck grin creeps me out every time. I dread giving her riddle answers.
I’m about 30 hours into Rise of the Ronin. I think it’s safe to say that this game will not only be my game of the year but also likely one of my favourite games of all time. No it’s not perfect but I absolutely adore it and will be devastated once I’m done with everything it has to offer.
@astro911 I’m super curious about RotR but the mixed reviews put me off day one purchase. Do you like it more than GhostoT then?
This weekend it's all about Suicide Squad and Rise of the Ronin. Finished the demo of Stellar Blade last night. Think I'm going to pick it up, I played on story mode, since I'm not a fan of Soulslike games. It seemed doable for me, I can already tell normal would be a pain in butt.
Have a safe and great gaming weekend everyone.
I’ve decided to go back and complete three of the DLC’s I never finished waaaaay back in the day for Fallout 3 on PS3 so I’m spending so time doing that. It’s almost painful to do though because the graphics are just terrible compared to what I’ve been used to for so many years now and the gameplay itself is just CLUNKY. But, it’s still somewhat enjoyable in a nostalgic way.
Star Ocean, and trying to continue to power through PS5 Tsushima off of extra.
@ApostateMage yeah, haha 😬 it is so well designed. First two I was like... ohhhhh shiiiiit I'm definitely about to get my head bitten off for this answer.
I'm trying to stack up enough quests to make heading back from Bhattal worthwhile now too. As I realised I didn't pick up all the riddles yet. But I'm not of a mind to rush to one place for one quest and back again, I need to stack my journey up. I think so far I've got: Mine some glimmercoal on the way out, poison gathering, a Griffin nest for a sculpter, a cave I skipped. A grimoire pick up at checkpoint rest town and some Elf Stew back at Sacred Arbor??? So checkpoint to Sphinx isn't that far, and I can probably head to the elves after that. Its going to be a long one so I'm probably going to get Tim Roth to learn Archery on the way as well 😆
I regret trying to be funny on one of the riddles when I first found them, too. "most prized possession" I handed over the brothel membership to see if it got a reaction 😆 it was something like: lean in, grin... "strange choice, very well" so when she duplicated it I gave it to a random pawn as a reward, I think 😂
@Marquez That stinks, I'm going on Vacation on Wednesday and hoping the Hotel WiFi is good enough for my Portal. First time I'm using it outside the house.
Finished playing the Stellar Blade demo which I really enjoyed. Now back to WWE 2K24 and Unicorn Overlord. Tekken 8 as well.
Trying to get my head around Planet Zoo. I love Planet Coaster so this was a must buy but it’s a different animal (no pun intended). Feels more involved & there’s more to think about but it’s a great game to just get lost in. Happy gaming everyone 👍🏼
I've been playing through Ori and the Will of the Wisp after beating Blind Forest. The sequel improves on every single thing the first game did, I genuinely love it.
I’m playing Dragon’s Dogma 2. I played 9 hours yesterday on day 1. Absolutely love it despite repetitive enemy design and some jank factors. I imagine I’ll be playing this for 75+ hours. Happy Saturday!
I’m going to try Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Misdemeanors that I picked up in the store sale for $3.99. I wanted Year One but didn’t want to pay forty dollars. Of course, the new Spring Sale just started, and Year One is only $8.99 now.. Oh well, I guess the order doesn’t really matter. And it would probably be harder going back to the older game controls and graphics after playing a more modern version. Similar to playing the early Yakuza games after starting with the more recent entries.
Samurai Warriors 5.
A Juggle between Dragons Dogma 2, Rise of The Ronin, Unicorn Overlord and Persona 3 Reload! (DD2 should get the most time on this long Easter weekend).
I missed my horses so I'm back to RDR2 online riding around and doing the daily challenges. Also doing a replay of Far Cry Primal. More like a first play as my real first play was short before I moved on to other games. This time I am enjoying it more. It's basically Far Cry Caveman. The most powerful weapon is a thrown spear, for transportation a bear can be trained and ridden, and there is a large pet owl that can drop bee hives on the enemies.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Unicorn Overlord (still both my GoTY early picks) - Xbox Series X
Stellar Blade demo - PS5
Pepper Grinder - Switch
@NoCode23 Far Cry Primal is my favorite Far Cry game. It deserves a sequel.
I’ll be continuing my play through of Final Fantasy 16. I passed a point of no return without doing many side quests so I decided to reload my save and complete them all before moving on further. I am loving every second I spend with this game. Excited for the DLC and updates later in April. On top of that, I’d like to finish the Stellar Blade demo and kill some bugs while defending democracy.
Dragon's Dogma 2 that already got me hooked!
But the damned thing is a time warping machine...
It's like you start playing now, and after a bit of time, you take a casual gander at a notification appearing on the phone, only to realize 4 hours have passed ! 🤦🏻♂️
But I guess that's also the mark of a very good and immersive game, innit?
And to think the year just started, and there are more good promising titles coming... Hellblade 2, Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the erdtree, Black myth: Wukong etc ....
The only thing missing ?
48h days, so you have time to play them all without impacting the other activities and aspects of your daily life : )
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Bit more spiderman 2. Looks and plays great but the combat does get a little samey. Enjoying the story so far though. The usual couple of games of fifa at some point
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (PS5) - I'm about two-thirds of the way through the game but will probably put it down for a bit now and pick up where I left off in Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
Gears of War: Definitive Edition (XSX) - I've just completed the third chapter and will try to push through and complete it in the next day or two so I can start on Diablo IV.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Switch) - finally finished this. Way to much grinding for my taste and the final chapter didn't really respect my time with hundreds of repetitive combat encounters and fighting the final boss through multiple stages. I also found the combat, systems, and story overly convoluted. Happy to close the chapter on this one.
Half-Life (Steam) - have just got a Steam Deck and am catching up on classics I haven't played when I'm not losing my life in Balatro.
@Doctor_BK reading your comment was the opposite of my experience. I did all the side quests and by the end wish I hadn’t even bothered w them I would’ve enjoyed the game a lot more
Jedi survivor and tactics ogre
Starting Horizon Forbidden West
Started Dragon's Dogma 2, which is good so far. Defeating an orge by hurling a bolder at his ass has been a highlight (that slow motion death animation was just hilarious!)
Also started Helldivers 2 co-op, which was also a hilariously fun time!
On top of that played through Cotton Fantasy a few times.
Haven't played this much in a while, it's been awesome!
@Philpmarlowe GOT is in many ways a more refined and polished experience, but I prefer the historical setting, weapon variety, and characters found in ROTR.
These days I watch a lot more gameplay videos on YouTube rather than read reviews to see if I will enjoy a game or not. I recommend checking out theRadBrad’s videos covering this game on YouTube to help you decide whether you should pick it up ROTR now or wait for a sale. Hope this helps.
Just platinum’ed Infinite Wealth so I’m going back and playing some One Piece Odyssey
@astro911 dude that’s awesome! Thanks!! You’ve actually convinced me to pick it up sooner than later, and I’ll def have to check out RadBrad- thanks for that 😄😎
Started Diablo 4 on the Series S.
Also Sly Cooper on Vita.
I started FF7Remake this weekend, so I'll be playing that. My first FF game too; really enjoying it so far!
Taking a little break (something I like to do after I finish a game). Finished BG3 Thursday (started it back in November!). Had a great time!! 😸
FFXVI (PS5)...boss fights are fantastic but little too long imo. I fought Bahamut for maybe 30min, hell yeah it was epic. I'm currently at 73% of main story progress so looking forward to how the story will continue;
This week I bought Switch Lite to relax with some Nintendo exclusives when I can't game on TV (unfortunately don't have good enough internet to go with portal). Started with Mario Bros. Wonder as main game and already tried several free demos.
Plus today watching big derby ManCity vs Arsenal - hope it will be great match.
Happy Easter, everyone!
Still playing Ghost of Tsushima and on the side I finished The Pedestrian, good game.
Happy gaming everyone.
I'm diving in-between Red dead redemption 2 and Horizon forbidden west and loving both of them
Metal Slug.
Just bought Hi-Fi Rush. Took the risk with my lack of rhythm and from initial blast it's no massive issue. It looks stunning too.
Also bought Penny's Big Breakaway on Friday. Fun but tricky. Looks like an unreleased Dreamcast game in its art style
Nothing, my infant son was in the hospital due Bronchitis resulting in a severe drop in oxygen in his blood. Luckily he recovered after a week of being hospitalised.
Hopefully tomorrow some GT7 and maybe some stellerblade (demo)
@Sanquine glad he's better. Not much scarier than that.
Dragon's Dogma, Chinatown Wars, and Otxo...maybe FFIX. There's wayyyy too much to play.
I love Chinatown Wars so much. It's the rare case of a big game whose mini-games actually make the world feel more legit. I wish more games in the series incentivized taking out cop cars also. And the music is brilliant.
I'm a little bit on the fence about DD2. I am having a great time with it but the patches have been pretty substantial and I want to play it in its best form. Modern gaming...
Diablo 4 as its on gamepass and pretty damn good and forspoken
@LN78 I got bloodstone the other day and finished it in sitting 👀. Really quite enjoyed it
@LikelySatan Yeah, seeing a 3 month old with tubes is vet uncomfortable/ scary to see.
EDiT: Thanks 🙏
GT7, I've been pulled back in by the recent updates
@Sanquine sorry to hear that. Hope he's all recovered soon
