It's been a couple of weeks since your humble host put together the week's WAYP, so it's finally time for yours truly to pull his weight. Without further ado, let's get into it.

It's a gaming buffet for me this weekend, which means I'll probably play next to none of them. Regardless though I'm relatively close to beating Stellar Blade, I want to check out season 12 of Sea of Thieves, I'm eager to continue on with my Fallout 4 playthrough, and with the announcement of the graphic novel, I'm keen to push for that Platinum in Returnal. But yeah... I'm definitely being over-ambitious.

After slowly chipping away at it for over two months I am hoping to finish Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth finally. I'm in the final few chapters after completing everything there is to do in the open world and while it has felt never-ending I have loved the party's journey up to this point.

I'm in a bit of a gaming slump, post-Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. I planned to tackle Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth or Stellar Blade next, but I think something smaller is in order. Currently, I'm weighing up both Sifu and Dave the Diver; I've dabbled in both but would like to explore one or the other more deeply. Decisions!
Liam Croft
I still have Fallout 4 and Stellar Blade on the go, but to be honest, I think I'll be investing all of my time into the latter. I wasn't all that excited for the Shift Up title before launch, but the game itself is proving absolutely fantastic. It's all I want to play at the moment!
Sammy Barker
I'm still noodling away on Stellar Blade because I really like it, despite being on my third playthrough. It would be nice to start something new, though — maybe it's finally time to break open Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.

So instead of playing the games I said I'd play in last week's issue, I actually swerved really hard and began a playthrough of Persona 5 instead. It's really not in my wheelhouse at all, but I've only ever heard praise for it, so I felt like seeing it for myself. I'm super early into the adventure, but I'm enjoying it so far. I'll aim to make some progress this weekend.
That's everything we're busy playing this week, but what about the rest of you? As always, tell us what's on your gaming itinerary in the comments section below.

After finishing Fallout 4 I am going for Fallout New Vegas
And in the meantime, I will try to do some progress in Sekiro.
As for casual fun Quake 2 and Ocarina of Time will do just fine
Happy gaming to everyone!
Finally done with Rebirth and my oh my was this game a giant disappointment until the very good last chapter and lovely last cutscene. I will be generous and give the game a 6/10 but it is actually a 5/10.
It is so long and so boring for most of the game. Sephiroth (now officially comic relief) pops up twice every two chapters to say "Cloud" and disappear. The cutscenes are so long with very little happening most of the time. Emotional scenes become comedic. The open world is so repetitive it gives Ubisoft a run for their money. Mini-game controls are not great most of the time. The combat is still great but it doesn't have enough depth for a 100 hour completion. Aerith has no role to play for most of the game until the last chapter.
This game didn't under-perform because it is exclusive, it under-performed because it is a 15 hour game stretched to 80 hours with nothing actually happening. I can talk a lot more about its faults but I just want to be done with it.
After uninstalling Rebirth, I started Stellar Blade, So far the combat is great, performance is great on balanced, music is excellent, story slow but has potential, platforming is fiddly. Really fun and a much needed palate cleanser.
Got visitors for most of the weekend (😭) but the moment they leave on Monday I will be back on Stellar Blade!
On PS5 i just finished Rebirth finally and I'm about to start playing through the Resident Evil remakes. On Xbox i I just completed Harold Halibut and started Eiyuden Chronicles.
Going to be chilling in the Commonwealth most of the weekend even though I’ve a load of games to start/finish.
Happy gaming everyone!
Can we get a poll on these posts like on your sister site Nintendo Life? It gives such a nice weekly view.
Got my partner into Destiny 2. So we are going through her new light journey over this weekend. Other than that, it will be cleaning up some survey runs for the Returnal platinum. Happy Gaming All.
I'm playing how to stay sane when looking after my 9 & 6 year old nieces. Taking them into town this morning for a bit of shopping and lunch. The eldest is 10 later this month and getting a switch for her birthday. Might introduce her to some games!
Hopefully my sister & brother in-law won't fled town before I take the kids home tomorrow 😵💫.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Going to run the Pantheon on Destiny 2 or at least try to. It’s so hard getting a raid team together now that a lot of my old crew have fell off. The fireteam finder isn’t great for raids as everyone who joins only wants to add clear 😩
Much like last week, I’m all about the fabulous Stellar Blade this weekend. I’m about 12 hours in and really enjoying the way the combat is evolving and earning Skill Points like they’re going out of fashion.
Once that’s wrapped up, I’ve got both NieR Automata and Devil May Cry 5 lined up. After feeling pretty burned out on FFVII Rebirth, Stellar Blade has helped reinvigorate my gaming once more. I’ll get back to Rebirth, but right now I’m really enjoying the immediacy of Stellar Blade.
@Zuljaras I only come here every week for your posts! Have a great weekend
On PS5 i will be playing Stellar Blade, Sand Land and Trails of Cold Steel 3.
On Switch its Endless Ocean Luminous and AI The Somnium Files Nirvana.
I'm just here for the Windows Phone guy.
Oh and the final few trophies for Fallout 4 100%.
I started Death’s Door last week and loving it. It reminds me a little bit of Hollow Knight, which also was way more addictive than you’d think at first glance.
Playing stellar blade and alone in the dark (2001). After owning a psp for almost 20 years I finally installed cfw on one, so I’ll be ripping my games over the weekend, also will be attempting to install cfw on my Wii u seeing that I’m in the modding mood.
Cannot. Get. Back. Into. Rebirth.
So it's Destiny 2 as I prep for the Final Shape, the new content is fun and the loot grind for returning weapons is real.
I'll also continue my Dragon's Dogma II playthrough. I wasn't going to look anything up but I really want to try Magick Archer, so I'll look to mainline towards that vocation's NPC.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
On Ps5 Stellar Blade which is awesome. Switch Ace Attorney Apollo Justice and Death Mark 2. Laptop System Shock Remake
The, always something interesting to explore, Fallout 4. Love this game.
@Zuljaras The 3DS version is the best way to play Ocarina of time in my opinion. I really enjoyed it a while ago (but never finished it, I'm ashamed to say)
Will be playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Series X and Trails from Zero on Switch. Wasn't even planning to play a Star Wars game on May the 4th, but here I am lol. Really liking the game so far.
Can't believe I have more screenshots on this game than RDR2. It's none other than '22 GOTY...ELDEN RIIIIIIIINNGG! Looking forward to Shadow of the Erdtree. Some may not realize but some YouTuber even said it, that for FromSoftware's first ever open world and to have nailed a steed like Torrent is remarkable. Ubisoft still can't get their horses right. GoT's horse is slow with a weird gallop. I feel like FS has filled that Bethesda void, y'know games you can't stop playing. Yeah and still need to make progress on BB's Old Hunters.
Finally back on here after travelling around the Phillipines for 6 weeks. Got some serious gaming to catch up on woohoo.
So, started Dragons Dogma 2 which is fantastic but hard. I'm dying so often I'm role playing it as the most useless bunch of adventurers ever - eg falling off a bridge, swept into a river and dropped 200ft into another river by a huge waterfall ...love it
Also carrying on with Avatar on XBX, enjoying it immensely, far better than anticipated
And just finished the very challenging tutorials on Top Spin 5, I can see me getting my arse handed to me online later
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Back to work after 9 days off, so currently on my break continuing with Uncharted: Golden Abyss. When I get home I will be playing Stellar Blade followed by Sea of Thieves co-op with my brother and his girlfriend.
Trying to finish off Lords of the Fallen, so I can start Eiyuden Chronicles. Fantastic game, it’s like Dark Souls and Bloodborne had a baby. Have a great weekend folks!
@Caveman49 Thank you and have a great weekend as well!
Cookie Cutter, a metroidvania where you play a vengeful lesbian killer android with a talking vagina.
Gameplay reminds me a bit of Guacamelee and the art and animation is incredible. Recommended!
Still with Stellar Blade this weekend and really loving it. The open world / side quest side of the game are way bigger than I anticipated, so taken me by surprise a bit. But for now, more Stellar Blade can only be a good thing!
Have fun everyone! Especially us in the UK with our long weekend!
P.s. it’s my 100th post! Wooo! What trophy do I unlock?
@The_Pixel_King Genuinely envious you get to experience NieR: Automata for the first time… really hope you have a blast with it! And remember… when the credits roll you’ve still got 2 more playthroughs left, and please believe me when I say you really don’t want to miss out on those extra runs 😀
@Perturbator ...bet that's something you never thought you'd say / type 🤣🤣
Stellar Blade - just great fun which is what gaming should be all about.
I finally pulled the trigger on Prey (was very impressed by the demo way back when but just never picked it up). A few hours in and it seems like £5 very well spent, it’s almost everything I want in a game, really.
That said, I don’t love the art deco style of the space station, I’d prefer something more rough and ready like the Ishimura or the Sevastopol from Alien Isolation.
@NieR_Dark Thanks for the advice my friend. I picked up NieR Automata last year and I’ve been meaning to start it ever since. At first, I actually bought the Switch version, but loved the first hour so much, I stopped right there and ordered the PS4 version. It just felt like such a special game that I wanted to experience the best version possible. So I’ll be starting it on PS5 as soon as I’m done with Stellar Blade.
Have a great weekend!
I think a bit of Dave the Diving in Dave the Diver and a bit more progress with Observation is about all I'm planning this weekend.
Have a good one people.
Kula World.
I’m splitting my time between Fallout 4 and Dragons Dogma. Which in hindsight is probably not the most logical decision, as they are both very open world. 🤣
I finished vampire the masquerade justice. Not the most detailed and most beautiful game on psvr2 that pushes the hardware, but it looks fine, the levels feel bigger than they are, and there is enough variety. The voice acting and audio design is quite good. All in all I really enjoyed it. Initially I wasn't too sure whether I would like "role playing" as a vampire, but it worked out. Then I am still in my second cyberpunk 2077 play-through. This time including phantom liberty (I encountered more bugs in the phantom liberty bit than during the entire 1st and 2nd play-through of the base game [crashes, crawling frame rate, annoying audio clips not stopping]). For me the best bits are the main story and the world they created. I really wish one could explore the world in VR (one day hopefully). On the negative side, the combat always feels a bit unsatisfactory, and driving in cockpit mode is often impossible, because it is impossible to see where one is driving. Anyway I would not play it a 2nd time if I would not like it overall.
Hopefully i will manage to complete Stellar blade over the weekend but the difficulty soon spikes in the latter half of the game. Really struggling with one particular boss battle. After thatci will move on to something else. Saving NG+ for when there is a photo mode..... for reasons.
Stellar Blade and nothing else. Played first playthrough blind. Second playthrough Im looking up trophy related stuff because theres no free roam. Have a good weekend everybody.
I finished Rebirth a few days ago after 97 hours and have to say I absolutely loved it! It seems I was in the minority going by the comments which is a real shame.I just hope the final part of the trilogy gets released at some point.Well done to Square Enix for making such a great game.
Next I have started the truly excellent Unicorn Overlord.Vanillaware can do no wrong!
I'm actually going to try out a real life golf simulator for the first time so I'm excited for that! When I'm home though it's all Stellar Blade. Game is just a blast to play!

@KingPev Haha no but you never know what you will find next in this game. This shot of some youtuber is just spot on:
Jedi Survivor this weekend. Having a really good time with it even though the performance and bugs are still a bit wonky.
This is the last of my Big Game backlog, after this I'm onto the countless smaller games and maybe getting caught up with Honkers.
A little less game time than normal this week but I’ve manager some hours at least 🙂
Immortals of Aveum - I’ve finished the story, which all things considered (including characters and such) was pretty decent. The world, gameplay, presentation and exploration are all very good imo. I’ve got two trophies left for the Platinum, which is also a very fun one. So all in all I really like the game, around 8,5/10 and would recommend anyone with PS Plus to try it out at least. Its probably not for anyone. Hope it hits GamePass soon as well.
Synapse VR - I’ve reached the end of the story, think Im gonna go for the platinum as the gameplay is very fun.
Suicide Squad - I had to play the trial. Its not very good. Might work with friends but solo? Nah
Trying to break out of my gaming Limbo with some Spider-Man Miles Morales
But also some FC24 as I'm in relatively decent goalscoring form and my gaming generally becomes a bit more casual at this time of year and that is easy to just pick up and play for a bit.
Obviously doing my part for the Super Earth MO, prefer the bots but gotta stop these terminids (the TCS missions are a bit naff though).
Would like to try out Dave The Diver if I get chance!
Happy gaming folks and May the 4th be with you
ESO and Horizon: Forbidden West. You know that one? It’s the awesome game with the average-looking female protagonist because that was never the point. lol don’t take this down!
Still soaking in Stellar Blade. Probably my GOTY right now.
I’ll return to Rebirth soon and DD2 but if it isn’t Stellar Blade I will work on wrapping of Tales of Kenzara, and maybe Balatro.
So much to play!
@playstation1995 Cavs x Magic feels like it could be about to break down in to an all out brawl game 7 too 👀
and none of them ready for the D White show 💪
@Ravix. 😄 haha definitely.my boston Celtics 💚🖤 got this its going to be fun.word up son
One final push to finish Silent Hill 4: The Room.
This weekend I’m going out of state to visit family, but I’ll find time to play Stellar Blade. I have to say I’m impressed. To understand this is Shift Up’s console debut I can’t be too critical of some of the missteps along the way.
I’m only five hours in, but it’s been great. It has your typical sci-fi trappings, and actually reminds me of Ghost in the Shell and Horizon Zero Dawn in some aspects. One thing that I do enjoy is how the story unfolds. You have your quintessential story beats, but you’ll also get more character background when you rest at a campfire — this games version of From Software’s Dark Souls series — so it feels completely natural because it’s practically necessary.
Speaking of From Software, this game will obviously get compared to their genre(s). While this is fair, I think the difficulty and gameplay emulates Devil May Cry, Nier: Automata, Ninja Gaiden, and Sekiro. However, I love this PS2, early PS3-era style of linear action games, all the while keeping up with modern audiences.
The combat is the real star of the show. It’s not as floaty as its inspirations, but there is a certain weight and crunch to its action. You can feel every blow that hits an enemy, and when you perform a perfect dodge or parry it feels satisfying because it is so mechanically sound. There is also numerous move sets and abilities you can unlock that genuinely make a difference. In most combat oriented action games you can button mash your way through victory, but here you have to strategize.
My only earnest complaint would be the general movement. You will be doing a lot of platforming outside of combat and most of the time it feels stiff. It’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination — but it is serviceable and doesn’t have the same fluidity as the combat.
I may trepidations with traversal, but in adjacent to that is exploration which is handled very well. It’s always beneficial going off the beaten, albeit sequential path. You’ll either come across health or combat upgrades, or notes to expand the world building. In fact, there is a moment early on where you have to maneuver a crane to get across to a new section. I accidentally ran the crane into a wall and, to my surprise, it crumbled and revealed upgrades to my equipment. It’s this type of environmental story telling that draws me into its world.
Lastly, I’m really loving what these Korean studios are doing lately. They are getting more mainstream attention and rightfully so. Lies of P from Neowiz was my GOTY last year and Stellar Blade May launch itself into this category once it’s all said and done.
I also got the platinum trophy for I Am Setsuna a few days ago. This game might be one of my favorite (J)RPGs of the last decade. It’s exceptionally well paced and never outstays its welcome. Unlike most modern games, particularly in this genre, it’s not laborious.
Last week I critiqued the game for its leveling system and experience points not accumulating for members outside of your party, but this isn’t true at all. I was completely wrong. This automatically remedied by biggest complaint, which was misguided from the beginning.
Nonetheless, my criticism is few and far between. I Am Setsuna is one of those games that comes along at the right moment in (my) life, and creates an everlasting impression. This will be a title I’ll think fondly of for a long time.
@Perturbator bloody hell 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Off to the arcade this afternoon with a friend.
For console gaming wise though FFVII remake rebirth, Sonic Superstars and P3 Reload for PS5.
Dark Cloud, ESO, Tunic and Hades for PS4 wise.
Since I won’t be at work on Monday either due to the bank holiday I’ll probably have time to gaming then as well.
Got the Lego set I’ve started to continue building and hopefully get a bit of tidying done
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Hit a bit of a rough patch and I'm hoping to get back into the groove with the game this weekend. The side content in the latter chapters (10 and 11 so far) has become frustrating, having to what feels like jump through hoops just to be able to reach some of it. I was fine with just going around and doing it all like a checklist, but now that some of it is only accessible if you figure out how to get to it, it's chipped away at my enjoyment of the game.
Solasta's really gotten its hooks into me! But today is one of the few days a year I intentionally take off to enjoy another hobby. The 2000 Guineas in the UK happens in about an hour. The Kentucky Derby in about 10. Plus there're a ton of undercard races at both venues to enjoy! Already have the DVR running!! Will get back to Solasta tomorrow (with a side of the 1000 Guineas!)!
Gonna be focusing on Rebirth this weekend while trying to finish watching Godzilla Minus One which was pretty good so far. Have a good one folks!
Sea of Thieves. Mostly watching my youngest play it, but I'll occasionally step in if things get tough. I was expecting griefers galore from what I'd heard but we're having a surprisingly chilled out time with it.
I’ll be making a hard push towards finishing up and maybe collecting the platinum for Rise of the Ronin. It’s been an absolute pleasure. Happy gaming!
After sitting on the fence, I finally caved and bought Stellar blade, which came yesterday. Played an hour or so last night and it seems like a lot of fun, with great combat mechanics. Will get proper stuck into it over the (bank holiday) weekend. Also playing Dave the diver, Dragons Dogma 2, and last but not least Top Spin 2K25. Plenty of games to be getting on with! 🙂
The king decided my birthday on Monday was worth a national holiday so technically Monday is still the weekend and I'll finally get to play Stellar Blade. But before that it'll be Tales of kenzera (which is really bloody good) maybe a bit of Dave the diver too
Stellar Blade is the main focus. Will make time for WWE 2K24 and Unicorn Overlord. Close to beating Overlord too.
After platinuming Dragons Dogma 2 (which is my GOTY so far) I'm onto Stellar Blade and RE7 PS5 version... Just want to play something familiar again
Slumming it up on PC with Palia, which is an MMO 3D version of Stardew Valley meets totally-not-Breath-of-the-Nintendo-like-game-sans-combat. I mean, for all the press Palworld got, I'm shocked there has been no legal from Big N about what is literally a shot-by-shot replay of the "Link exits the cave" part of the beginning of BOTW. To say nothing of all the other (not)Hyrulian references. You know, like (not)Beedle, (not)Purah, etc.
This all sounds like a big complaint, which it's NOT, the game is fun and super chill, I'm just really surprised it's allowed to exist, and is weirdly also available on Switch. Interesting times, indeed. Have a lovely and gameful weekend fam!
My Time at Sandrock - Very delightful game, great style, graphics, sound. There is always something to do and it's a great game to just chill with.
Starfield - About 180 hours in, finished campaign (no NG) and still doing lots of missions, POI's, exploring planets. Gunplay is so tight and crunchy with some excellent weapons. Loading is a little pokey on X but much better with GeForce Now on G Cloud and on MacOS. It has that Bethesda hook, where hours can slip by and you are heading towards something and always getting sidetracked. Yes the Creation Engine is getting dated, but that gives it a sort of retro RPG feel. Compared to Fallout, it does not get weird, characters and plots are all pretty nice, except for the bad guys. Maybe the expansion will get a little crazy. I was hoping for Fallout in space and I (mostly) got it. I hope I can transfer my save to PS when it (hopefully) hits this fall! I will say the play anywhere aspect, or whatever it's called, is the best feature. Playing on Series X, jumping to GeForce Now on the G Cloud or on my Mac, X Cloud on the phone, all using the same saves all synced everywhere with no issues. PS needs to continue to expand more on the multiple devices and platforms with cross save.
PS Portal - Amazing device, a true Playstation experience. I have been using the Logitech G Cloud and it has been great. Nice to play multiple platforms and very portable with great screen and battery life. But forget about the G Cloud when you get the PS Portal. Great controls, amazing large screen, just so fun to play on. Only issue is all the buttons are black on black and under the back lip, I find them hard to reach and control. Also the unit is pretty large. But all that melts away when you start a game. Just an amazing device.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - I avoided all clips and videos so I went in fresh. The very beginning has a "leave the vault" scenario and when I first entered the world of Pandora I almost shed a tear, it was so dense and beautiful. Almost over-whelming how amazing it looks. The Snowdrop Engine, which I loved in Division 2, really provides a stunning and graphically rich world. Just got a mount and things are really getting cool now!
Have a great gaming weekend everyone!
I’m honestly seriously considering biting the bullet and getting the FF16 DLC. I’ve been in a slump since I beat Rebirth and Balatro the same day about a month and a half ago. Feels like everything I’ve played since hasn’t hit the spot. I know I loved 16, so it might be nice to have some comfort food. Hopefully Indika launches on PS5 next week as I’ve been looking forward to that one quite a bit. I’ve still got Banishers hanging around in the backlog, but I just… don’t play it. I sort of feel like I’m going crazy here as I feel like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Helldivers 2, and Stellar Blade have all been… just fine… while the rest of the community is tossing praise. It’s just one of those weird years where I must just be at odds with the industry. I dunno. Prince of Persia, Tekken, Balatro, Rebirth was such a strong streak that maybe I’m still hungover from all that greatness so fast though.
Worst case scenario for me is, if I can’t get out of this funk with games currently available, at least Braid is back out in two weeks and I know that’ll snap me out of it if I need it to!
Finish Stellar Blade then continue Another Crabs Treasure
This weekend I’m all over Jiggle Blade. I mean Stellar Body. Uh… I mean…..oh, you know……
Stellar Blade and Sand Land on ROG Ally
Well it's not been a good week for me and my family as I lost my mother on Tuesday night. She passed peacefully. I've mostly been hitting helldivers 2 this week and I can't thank the guys I've been teaming up with enough as they have been legends and really helped to take the edge of it. Spent the day with my brother at the golf course for a little bit of much needed bonding. Have a great weekend everybody👍
FFXVI - Continuing my 2nd play through in FF Mode. About halfway through it.
Blast Corps - Recently purchased an N64 controller for the Switch. Time to finish what I rage quit back in ‘97.
Tears of the Kingdom - Shrine and Lightroot hunting around Hyrule.
I m playing wild hearts with friends and loving it. Also playing age of empires 2 and evil west with is surprising good.
@get2sammyb Thats no middle in yakuza, you love it or you disdain it. Infinite Wealth is a amazing game, best game i playied this year easly, i hope you enjoin so much as i.
@Northern_munkey Sad news. Condolences.
@Perturbator erkk. Is that? Lol. Wishlist this game on steam but i have no idea its contain many adult element lol.
Angry Birds Star Wars II (Windows Phone) - Getting all the stars in Episode III has been rough so far to say the least...
I’ve gotten burnt out after 40 hours of Mini-Games the Game, I mean, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so I’m stepping back for now and jumped into Stellar Blade. I’m loving it so far.
@LN78 thankyou
Stellar Blade this weekend
Playing Tales of Kenzara:Zau and having a real pleasant time. Controls feel tight and combat is fun enough. Also should be a nice 8-10 hour platinum so that’s always a plus!
Same as last week. Good times.
1. Stellar Blade
2. ZAU
3. FF7 Rebirth
@amatmulisha It's not that prevalent don't worry. It's a good metroidvania at heart with good exploration and lots of stuff to unlock and upgrade.
I've been currently playing these 4 games. After I platinum FF7 and R&C3, I plan to replay Crisis Core: FF7 and R&C: Deadlocked.
No interest in playing Deltarune, until Toby Fox inevitably releases Chapters 3-5 in the future.
Final Fantasy VII (PS4 Port, replaying on my PS5)
Phineas & Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension (PS3, playing on my PS5 thru PS+ Premium)
Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal HD (PS3, replaying on my PS5 thru PS+ Premium)
Undertale (PS4 Port, replaying on my PS5)
I completed Ender Lilies and Lamentum, both pretty good games. Started them ages ago and stopped somewhere in between, as I often do.
On the side I play Limbo, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and Axiom Verge. Even started Steam and playes a little bit of Desktop Dungeons, quite nice that one.
All smaller games, cause I can not deal with this bloated open world stuff right now.
Y'all enjoy your weekend/games.
I finally finished the Outriders campaign after taking a year off from it. Pretty fun but average game overall. Started Yakuza: Like a Dragon up again and I’m really enjoying it. Also still playing Resistance: Retribution primarily on the Portal. A couple of minutes here and there of MvC: Infinite’s story mode whenever my kids say “daddy play Spider-Man”. Some Freedom Wars on toilet.
Debating on picking up either Ff16, Ronin or Dragons Dogma 2, but hesitant on all 3 really.
Which is better? Give me some opinions.
@somnambulance question, I'm on the fence about picking up either Ff16, Ronin, or Dragons Dogma 2. What about Ff16 makes you see it as superior to dd2?
I'm on my 2023 backlog
Alan Wake 2
Plague Tale Requiem
Diablo 4
Armored Core 6
Still pottering around in Skyrim trying to figure it all out. I’m not really into it yet but I’m playing in half hour bursts and it feels like one of those games you need to sit and put a few hours into.
@breakneck thank you, so I'm not alone!!!
It felt like my characters were sight-seeing instead of trying to save the world. I hated the open-world design and all those mini-games, I only stayed for those characters that I love. But it was hard. I didn't have a good time.
Dave the Diver, although I’m still messing around in the village and that’s getting boring and taking away from the restaurant sections which is a shame.
Lies of P is taking a lot of my time now. Better than any of the souls games minus Demon Souls in my opinion.
@KundaliniRising333 Story, characters, visuals, combat, etc. 16 is a better game in practically every way, outside traversal for me, unless you’d rather have agency of making “your own character.” I’d give Dragon’s Dogma 2 maybe a 7 or 8/10 personally. The game feels dated and grindy to me. It’s certainly a niche game. You’ll love it or hate it, most likely. For me, I just sort of got bored with it after about 3 or 4 weeks playing it. 16, however, I was sad to see it be finished. I loved my time with it. Sure, there’s some padding, but overall, it’s such a resonant story with excellent characters and incredible boss fights. Seriously, the boss battles are stunning in a way that I don’t know what could top them.
As for Ronin, that one reminded me of Ubisoft meets Nioh, which, I mean, that’s sort of what was promised with this one the whole time, wasn’t it? That one didn’t hit for me either, but I wasn’t really surprised about that, as I’ve never really liked anything Team Ninja’s made. Glad I just tried that one and didn’t buy it.
Also, take my opinion with a grain of salt, I’m heavily biased toward Final Fantasy. I would say that, outside the Kojima-verse, it’s my favorite series. I will be critical of the series when I feel it deserves it (FF2, 3, and 13, I’m looking at you!), but I typically love the series. And, yes, I loved 15 too.
I'm playing Stellar Blade, it's a bit harder than I expected.
Well here we go with another WAYP this week coming off a early morning shift. Pretty big week this week as I got ahold of copies of Endless Ocean Luminous, Sand Land, Another Crabs Treasure, Little Kitty Big City, Sea of Thieves and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. Also completed my monster hunter rise Amiibo set. And I think I’m gonna start to really hammer away at collecting mangas too. Also got to start some games this week like Pepper Grinder and SaGa Emerald Beyond. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be going back to those games too soon they weren’t that great honestly. Just fine really. Also saw The Fall Guy and The Zone Of Interest this weekend and ooh boy those were excellent movies. The Fall Guy is easily top 3 this year for me. Also saw WWE Backlash France and that too was absolutely excellent. My first PPV and the crowd was excellent. As for the rest of the weekend I’m thinking more Trails Into Reverie and either Persona 3 Reload or Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes. As for the rest of the week I’m thinking a rather chill easy week of just various games like maybe doing some Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection on switch or some SF6 before Akuma comes out so I can try Ed since I didn’t boot it up back then. Maybe Stellar Blade and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth too. Really a rather chill week. As for anime this week I gotta say Mysterious Dissapearnces is really good and Kaiju No.8 too. Will absolutely have seasonal recommendations next week. Special music shoutout this week to Kendrick Lamar’s Euphoria, Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us. Really good stuff there. Finished Knuckles and that was also absolutely amazing I love it. It’s probably tied with Fallout for favorite show this year so far. As for podcasts this week I gotta go with the usuals of Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Nextlander, Jeff Gerstmann, Last Stand Media, Remap Radio, Easy Allies, Kit and Krysta and Windbreaker and Firelink. And of course we wouldn’t be complete without a lovely shoutout to my good friend over at twitch.tv/akibread who recently did a great crowd control stream of Luigi’s Mansion. I would say perfect timing for Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD next month huh. As always y’all take good care of each other. Stay safe and have a great rest of your weekend. And as always Happy Gaming.

@Anke I didn't think anyone much payed attention
Busy weekend. Made it a long one to celebrate my and my wife's anniversary. I thought I'd beat the weather and get the yard taken care of Friday night, but my equipment all had other plans. In the end, it took cleaning up some fouled plugs on the riding mower, a complete carb disassembly and cleaning for the push mower, and fixing a kinked fuel line on the trimmer. I managed to get everything done and cleaned up just as the first drops fell late Saturday morning.
Having knocked out everything by Sunday, I spent majority of the day on the PS4 remaster of Final Fantasy VIII. I haven't played it all the way through in over 20 years, so it's great rediscovering all of the twists and turns that I had completely forgotten.
@FinneasGH it's a great game but the sea people parts definitely feel like filler and get in the way a bit
@Northern_munkey sorry for your loss mate.
@rusty82 thankyou.
