Another busy week, packed full of unexpected PlayStation drama, has come to a conclusion. Let's play some games, shall we?
Aaron Bayne
Finally getting to a long overdue backlog game: Resident Evil 4. No idea why it's taken me this long to pick it back up but five chapters in and I am loving it!
Sammy Barker
I'm working through a backlog of reviews, so I'll probably be attempting to tick off as many of those as possible this weekend.
Scott McCrae
I've finally started playing through Shadow of the Erdtree so probably some mixture of that and Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection.
That's what we're playing this week, but what about you? As always, feel free to get involved in the comments section below.

Stellar Blade: The combat has impressed me with its depth and variety of different moves, combos, and upgrades, with the different exospines providing customization that actually feels applied in-game.
EVE is very endearing and you want her to avenge her comrades, but it's the side quests (particularly Enya's) where the story really shines. It's also nice to have a huge variety of outfits, earrings, and glasses to customize your look.
In other words, it's a really fun ride.
I’ve got too many games on the go at the minute so I’m going to concentrate on finishing at least one, which this weekend will be Vacation Simulator I think.
On PS5 i WAS playing the Plucky Squire but I've encountered a major bug, last night I finished on chapter 8 and turned off my game, went back to it this morning and my save says chapter 5 which was 3 days ago, so yeah it quickly got deleted.
Instead il be focussing on the Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream Beta and Visions of Mana
On Switch I will be playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions and some Splatoon 3.
Playing plucky squire right now. Great game not without some faults
Returned to finish of Rage on ps3 after about a year off. I’d kinda been putting it off as I remember not thinking that much of it but it’s better than recall. Should have my 100% run finished up today and then I’ll take a stab at the Nightmare run on Wednesday for the plat.
Im still playing the incredible 2014 game of the year winner dragon age inquisition game of the year edition.and im still playing the amazing tales of arise.i will be watching my Pittsburgh Steelers💛🖤 play.and i will be watching legendary sitcoms comedy tv 📺 shows in family matters.goo times.the Jeffersons.and saved by the bell.word up son
I'm still on AstroBot.
I got stuck on the Cross Challenge missions last weekend and stepped away from it for a bit to play Sky Gunners. I went back to it on Thursday though and beat three of the four cross missions in about 45 minutes.
I love when that happens with a good game.
Also, my friends and I are getting back into Helldivers 2 in a big way. I've been playing once or twice a month for the last while, but I'm all in on it again this weekend.
Gonna crack on with Visions of Mana. I like it, but it's not hooked me as much as the Trials of Mana remake did.
@playstation1995 I'm feeling the need to play Dragon Age again too. The hype for Veilguard is building nicely.
Astro Bot continues to be my go to, as I’ve not had much game time, so I just “help my son” when he wants to watch me play… and we’re using my save data, which is nearly complete now, rather than his, so who is helping who now? Anyway, I’m really close to having all bots and puzzle pieces, so that may happen this weekend.
Elsewhere, I’d like to play more Mr Mosquito and Skygunner. Talk about the best month of PS+ ever to have those two launch at once. I’ve yet to start Plucky Squire too, and I want to. Maybe this weekend?
I’m in no rush with games, as I had to buy a new car as an emergency (as a trade in) and my wife needed a new one too, so we collaboratively did the responsible thing. Now, I will have to rely on my preorders for the rest of the year, which means goodbye future Switch games as Zelda still isn’t even on Amazon to preorder. The insanity, am I right? So it’s looking like I’ve got four or five PS games for the rest of the year, which is plenty, but… man… maybe I can make an exception for Zelda, right? What’s money anyway? Who needs it? Maybe I can figure out a side hustle?
Got the platinum on Astro Bot on Thursday. Such a great game.
On Plucky which is great but after Astro nothing is as fun lol
Will be playing Condemned: Criminal Origins on Series X, Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PS5 and Persona 5 Strikers on Switch. Pretty good mix of games this weekend!
Astrobot, playing the last challenge before getting the platinum trophy. After that I think I will start up my Switch. Never finished Mario oddysey and bowsers fury but I’m now fully into platforming.
Also still have persona 5 Royal that is still to be opened
Balatro on the switch ( great game just can’t get past round 15) and as many horror games as I can squeeze in whilst drinking beer and listening/watching football .
Have a great gaming weekend everyone 👌
@UltimateOtaku91 I'm having an issue in The Plucky Squire at the start of chapter 7 beat 2 enemies near a couple of starfish and Jot just stands there. All I can do is throw my sword. It's crashed 3 times as well.
Black Myth Wukong Chapter 5 finally after being stuck on Chapter 4 bosses for hours. Also picked up Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster for a bit of silly fun
Gonna sink my teeth into Hades after I finish work. Heard a lot of good things about this one!
Gotham Knights and Paper Mario (N64) this weekend
On the 5 I’ll be playing a few levels at a time in astrobot to maximize joy and a few levels at time in tomb raider 1 remastered to maximize frustration. On my IBM compatible computer I’ll be playing dead space 2 and half life alyx.
Astro bot for me this weekend
Waiting patiently for PS5 Pro day
And Switch 2 reveal.
Completed Nier Replicant ending A yesterday. I was going to launch into ending B but then the game was expecting me to spend 30 mins reading a novella and I quickly decided I needed a break playing something else for a bit.
So I have forsaken PlayStation for a while in favour of playing Metroid Prime; undoubtedly one of the greatest sci-fi games ever. For some reason I've only ever played the first one, so probably time I fixed that and played the rest of the trilogy. Working my way through the magical original first though.
After finishing Astro Bot last weekend, it made me feel very nostalgic. After having a blast as a bot Aloy (and also due to the amazing music) I’ve decided to go back to Horizon Forbidden West and restart as it’s been a while since I’ve played, and I can’t remember anything.
The Plucky Squire, I'm on chapter 9 and hope to finish it over the weekend. I had high hopes but it's kinda of meh, it's nowhere near as inventive or fun as the trailers made out. Its incredibly linear and every puzzle solution well signposted. The only times I've been stuck is when stuff fails to load into the level.
SCORN (VR)
Played it with the UEVR mod and damn... those are just about the most impressive visuals I've seen in VR so far. Like walking around a Giger painting.
Wildermyth
I've quickly become addicted to this roguelike RPG where your team ages, fall in love, get maimed in battle etc. Could see myself playing this for a long time!
American Truck Simulator (VR)
This is just a totally chill experience playing in VR with wheel/pedals and some music playlist on in the background. Honestly I think I will just quit my graphic design career and go be a truck driver from now on.
@Decoy_Snake Have you tried going back to the main menu to the continue with save page and clicking square, you can reload an earlier save point. But for me my latest save point is chapter 5 although I got to chapter 8, 4 hours of progress just gone.
Antagonising Micah at camp every chance I get in the amazing Red Dead Redemption 2.
The amount of detail in this game is so good.
GTA6 is going to be phenomenal, I can't wait!
Crusader Kings 3 The tale of Brian mac Brian Briain continues. Now an aging king of Ireland, veteran of many wars, both fuedal and holy. Brian III dead in a ditch, one daughter unreachable in a far away land, the Albino Queen of Moldavia, her betrothed stuck in scotland unable to marry her (😅) she will have no children of her own. A pilgrimage helped ease Brian's worries, but 2 wives have since died, King Brian's depression has spiralled out of control once more. 3 new wives married in a last gasp of desperation. A gift, a new son Brian III the second... attempt 😅 A handsome boy, but his father is only just hanging on to life, what can he teach him in his final moments. Ireland has been secured, no more conquests; unite, unify and defend!
For Brian ✝️
More Trails Through Daybreak for me.
@playstation1995 Here we go Steelers, here we go! I hope Fautanu can go. We need him against Bosa.
Very busy weekend ahead. If I do everything right, I may have some time for Vampire Survivors, Triangle Strategy, or Diofield Chronicle.
Shoving Lego heads on zombies in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Playing more Blur on PC (Great game)
Adventuring with Ifan Ben Mehzd, Red Prince, Sebille & Lohse in Divinity OS2, what a joy!
Pretty much the same as last week
Star Wars Outlaws - still really enjoying this game. I think Im getting close to the end of the story so Im gonna mop up some trophies and get that platinum as well 🙂
Astro Bot - Amazing! The game just has fantastic level after fantastic level! Love it 🤩
The Plucky Squire - had to try it for a bit, seems very good but it’ll have to wait. Need to finish the games above first 🙂
Really want to finish FF7 Rebirth, 170 hours in and I love it except for some of those boss/challenge encounters, the dodge and block is driving me nuts. Hopefully I can get a bit more Astrobot in too, but I’m trying not to slam it (it’s making me want to go back and play Astro’s Playroom too)
I would love to play the Marvel vs Capcom Collection and Lollipop Chainsaw on the PS5 but I will be away for the weekend. I’ll be on the Switch.
Funko Fusion. I’ve got too many trophies to quit now!
@UltimateOtaku91
Eeek. I’ll leave off in the plucky squire until any known bugs are fixed then.
Not chased a platinum for over a year, but I'm considering it with Astro, just as an excuse to keep playing.
Then it's back to Cult of the Lamb and maybe, just maybe, thinking about a new Bloodborne run. Only played it through once.
My copy of Star Wars Outlaws FINALLY arrived yesterday, so, this will be my primary game for the weekend!! If time allows it, I will slot Uncharted 3, Tales of Arise or Yakuza 4. I'm juggling too many games, must finish a few soon.
Star Wars Outlaws
Still playing it, still enjoying it
I've gotten into a comfy place with The Outer Worlds. Never finished it so I'll keep up with that. So far, I only wish I had to work a little harder to earn companions, as every one of them has just jumped on the idea of joining my crew with little convincing. Then again...I probably would too if I were in that world. I'll throw on Shadow of the Ninja Reborn every now and then, too. Such an amazing remake.

Backlog
Under the waves started it the other day and really enjoying it it's quite relaxing just exploring the ocean. On Xbox I'm trying to finish Star Wars outlaws and playing Far Cry 5 Vietnam dlc.
I just finished Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, 30+ hours playing time & difficulty Hard. This is the 6th Ys game that i've finished and it's another fun and thrilling adventures with Adol 'the Red' Christin. I personally give it an 8.5/10. Not as good as Ys VIII but it still a very solid Ys game.
I'm also playing a bit of Ys X: Nordics demo from PSN Asia. So far the combat is fun and quite a breath of fresh air after 3-characters party from Ys VII-IX. Now it feels like the classic Ys with solo Adol, although he still can be accompany by a badass waifu hehe. Also, the graphics looks like a good improvement compare to Ys VIII / IX. Now the characters face animation looks more alive with better lip sync as well better detail on their model. The demo convinced me so i might buy Ys X on day 1.
So far, i don't have any regret with Ys games. The series is a perfect example that show JRPG doesn't always need AAA budget to offers a consistent fun and challenging gameplay as well interesting story and badass music.
But with Ys IX finished, i'm kinda confused with what games that i should play next. Should i continue Tales of Vesperia remastered (at 3rd arc), The Last Remnant, hunting Tengai platinum trophy (one more trophy), or play Star Ocean: First Departure R? Ahhh decision decision...
In that place where I have now fully completed the games I was playing. Platinumed and all. Therefore, struggling to decide on a new game to fully invest my time with. Currently dipping my toe into Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night. And then also Middle-Earth Shadow of War. Happy Gaming All.
Having recently started gaming again and I'm 5 hours into Scarlet Nexus. Having a great time with it.
Have a great weekend folks!
42 hours into Unicorn Overlord and it's still good. But I'm counting down the days till Sparking Zero!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Nearing the end of my Hard playthrough.
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode.
Free Slots Fun Factory (Windows Phone) - Won't stop crashing. I'm not sure I'll be able to play this.
Gonna try out the new GT4 Spec II mod today. Also finally getting around to FF7 Rebirth. Need some AAA gaming after slogging my way through Vampire Survivors platinum trophy earlier in the week.
Might play the Broken Sword remaster and Astro Bot this weekend although I'm feeling a bit burnt out on gaming lately.
Got over 60 hours in Hades with 20+ successful runs and I'm still hooked. Trying to unlock everything now. Probably the best game I've played this year.
Once the f1 finishes for today, Im going to go and beat my head against a wall.... and by that I mean try and get a little further in Black Wokong, which is testing my poor old man reflexes bad! 🤣
Im also looking to finish off Astrobot as some light relief, its such a joyful experience.
... and I really want to get back to some Diablo 4, I keep meaning to and getting distracted..
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
Continuing with Sekiro. I finally feel I’ve got the deflect down. I beat an early boss that I’d been stuck on for a while. It’s getting really good and I’m excited to play every time I start it up
This weekend on PS5 I'm playing Astro Bot, Stellar Blade (only 3 suits left to find) and Alan Wake 2 ng+. I love how they integraded the DLC into the main story, very nice touch.
On Xbox I'm doing some sidequests in Witcher 3.
On the Switch I'm doing some sidequests in TotK.
It's not often I'm jumping between all 3 consoles but when I do I absolutely love it.
Platinum time for Astrobot.
Then between caring for the newborn I’ll aim for more Vampire Survivors and finally get back to Wukong.
Time allowing: Start Space Marine 2
I’ve just hit chapter 5 in FF7 Rebirth. I’m finding Queen’s Blood to be one of the best card-based mini games I’ve played. I like it more than Gwent!
Other than that, Chernobylite keeps tempting me but I don’t typically play more than one game at a time. We will see if I can resist until I finish Rebirth. But who knows how long that’ll take!
Resident Evil 4
Epic Mickey Rebrushed came in early, so I'll be playing that over the weekend - also some Trails of Cold Steel 2 and Hogwarts Legacy!
Happy weekend everyone
None other than my most anticipated Game of the Year.
I'm selling off my PS5 to a mate in prep for the Pro so I bought Final Fantasy X/X-2 on Switch to play in the meantime
I'll probably fit in some Dead Rising before that though. It's a great-looking remaster on the surface but I'd have loved some upgrades to the physics. It would have been satisfying to have more than 1% of items being destructible. I'd still recommend it though, especially to those who never played the OG!
Red Dead Redemption and Planet Zoo. Hunting and skinning animals in one, and caring for them in the other. Hopefully I don't get them mixed up.
