Had a great time with Brutal Legend this past week but now it’s done, I’m returning to a couple of games where I already put in the hard yards a couple of months back. So I should just need to finish off the post-game stuff for each. Crossing my fingers that Final Fantasy XIII and GTA IV will be plats #199 and #200 over the next couple of weeks.

My weekend is stuffed - not just on Switch, but on PS5 also!
I'm currently playing:

• Trails of Cold Steel II
• Sonic x Shadow Generations
• Astro Bot

Add Dragon Age Veilguard to this list next week and my backlog is not going to shrink down anytime soon haha!

I’m in a phase right now where I’m playing different games at the same time, which is quite unusual for me …

Anyway, this weekend it’ll be: The Plucky Squire and Dino Crisis on PS5, Pentiment and COD: Black Ops 6 on XSS, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Super Castlevania IV on Switch.

Darksiders 2 PS5 version. Looks and plays really well in 4k at 60fps. Great game to revisit. Have a good weekend all!

Oxenfree: Lost Signals 2 that I purchased in the store sale for $1.99 because I saw it listed here. That is, if I can get my son to quit playing Vampire Survivors for a little while.

Just finished Ghost Recon Breakpoint which was great, so might go back and try Wildlands to get more of the same.

Im still playing the underated classic the incredible days gone.i will be playing one of the best first person shooter ever in the amazing 2016 doom.i will also be continued playing one of the best video games ever in 2014 game of the year winner in dragon age inquisition game of the year edition.im almost done with the story im on the last mission.im just playing the dlcs and side missions.i will be watching my boston Celtics💚🖤 play.and i will watch my Pittsburgh Steelers 💛🖤 play.i will watch legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy in the Jeffersons.family matters.good times.sanford and son and saved by the bell.word up son

Too many games not enough time but it's going to Mechwarrior 5 clans. My first Mechwarriors game and it's great. I do like a good story and cinematics

Beat the grand cathedral dungeon on Metaphor Refantazio last night so will be continuing with that for the foreseeable when I get game time

Arcade Paradise, I have completed the story, my arcade looks magnificent, no more laundry, the assistant manager collects the money, I just need to play on the machines, and there are at least 4 I haven't even played once yet. It's one of the best £7 I have ever spent.

When I’m enjoying a video game, I mumble “I’m really enjoying this video game” to myself while im playing it. I’ve been doing that a lot while playing Visions of Mana.

Just finished Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider. Excellent short Shinobi meets Mega Man style game.

I’d like to maybe pick up Silent Hill and put it in the rotation. We shall see!

Was intending to start Metroid Prime 2 this week, but I had one of my occasional fits of caprice and decided to plump for Hollow Knight instead. I knew this game was highly regarded before going in, and it didn't take me long to see why - it's just so good. Smooth gameplay, fantastic atmosphere and music, great design, and nothing but flipping roadblocks everywhere, lol - but I'm loving every second of it. Also hoping to start Portal 2 with my daughter this weekend. She was googling to see if there's a cuddly companion cube she can get for Christmas, so I believe she quite enjoyed the first one 😁 Happy gaming everyone, whatever you're playing just now.

I’m currently mopping up some lingering trophies in the second Lego Harry Potter game. Also my Wishlist keeps alerting me to YS X Nordics being available - it keeps popping off every two minutes. Must be a sign 😂

Got back from travelling in Europe just last weekend so itching to get back into gaming !
Finished Ratchet and Clank PS4 fun but forgettable and dropped Immortals Of Aveum after 7 hrs. The epitomy of meh.
Started Black Ops 6 on GP last night, superb so far. Great campaign and the usual peerless multilayer. Enjoying Star Wars Outlaws too, about 9 hrs in so far, though it has many flaws. Also been playing the fantastic Space Marine 2 ...multiplayer and only 2 levels of the campaign
But I stupidly bought World of Warcraft The War Within expansion and I can see it taking over my life ! Nnoooo I thought I was out ....
Also added Silent Hill 2, Dead Rising Remaster, Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion to the backlog !

Metaphor Refantazio still. The group so far has been really serious, no Morgana or Ryuji to make you laugh somewhat. Louis guy just has so much style but is a bad guy. Will add some Persona 5 and RDR2.

@KingPev yeah they were a bit of a nightmare mate not gonna lie. The Auf Weidersehen Petrovic trophy didn’t pop during my first run through the requirements, so had to do pretty much all of them a second time. There were a good few all-nighters to get it all done too, as 99% of the remaining players are in the US 😅.

I started the Retrorealms Ash Vs Evil Dead campaign and so far I love it. I also grabbed Sniper Elite 5 because of the suggestions from the community, and I'm really impressed. I still don't get the series penchant for daytime missions, but otherwise it's a really good time. Hope everyone has a great weekend, if you get one.

I'll be playing Resident Evil 2 remake (first time, half way through) and I might dip into Ghost ot Tsushima's Iki Island expansion (I platinumed the game in 2021 and have an opportunity to do the dlc before my PS+ Extra expires in November).

Started Alien Fireteam Elite. Which is a very underappreciated gem. Also tidying up the Spiderman DLC finally. To get it 100% completed. Happy Gaming All.

Diablo 4 as vessel of hatred is brilliant and I also bought vampire survivors for £3.20 and it's the best £3.20 I've ever spent..at first I thought it was crap but I can't put the bloody thing down..have a great weekend everybody 👍

A couple of days ago I finished my NG+ run in Silent Hill 2 Remake and got the platinum trophy. Being as this was my first venture into this historical franchise, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I have to say - it might be one of the best survival horror games ever made, at least in my eyes. The game was sublime, top to bottom, and had excellent pacing. I think the game would have been even better without the Labyrinth dungeon, but other than that I adored the game.

I have now properly started Metaphor Refantazio. I’m not too far into the game. I recently acquired Hulkenberg as an official party member. We tackled a side quest for Brigitta, and that lead to a really great dungeon with fantastic rewards. The final boss was a difficult fight, but extremely rewarding.

I also just completed the first main dungeon—the entire prologue—and subsequent boss encounter(s). This game has really subverted my expectations in terms of how the gameplay and story intertwine. It’s the finer details in the downtime of actual combat that really make this game excellent. I’m excited to see how many more experiences like this the game can offer. According to reviews, there will be a ton of magical moments, and I’m here for it.

I'm still grinding away at Diablo 4. The Spiritborn class is the most fun I have had with the game to date.

Still Sekiro. I’m on the final boss of this first play through, but I’m starting to lose hope I can beat him… 😭

I have almost no time whatsoever to game this weekend due to prior commitments, but what time I do have, I’ll be playing Black Ops 6. I will also be following the scores on my Red Wings, Lions, Wolverines and Arsenal. Then come Monday, which I have off of work, I’ll be spending a decent chunk of the day playing. Finally got my immortals of Aveum platinum yesterday and really enjoyed my time with it. Think I’ll dust off my Xbox today and play the black ops 6 campaign on gamepass

I'm mostly getting started with Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Along with that, I'm also finishing some of the side content in Yakuza 4.

Currently on a family trip for a few days, Im surprised playing on my Portal is working as good as it is given we are far from home. Very happy with that 😃 Anyways, the games:

GRIS - finished and platinumed. Really enjoyed this game, or experience is perhaps a more fitting description as even though its a platformer of sorts its all about the journey, the amazing visuals, the soundtrack, the emoitions... I was late to this but very happy it dropped on plus so I got to play it, might have missed it otherwise!

Dead Island 2 - Im having a lot of fun with this game, and Im one or two missions from finishing the story. Sure, its not perfect and things like fighting four zombies that look exactly the same breaks the immersion totally but the game doesnt take it self to seriously so I can overlook things like that based on the most important thing for a game like this, its really fun!

Max Mustard PSVR2 Pretty much stumbled on this game and after watching a review on YT I got it. Glad I did, Im enjoying it a lot. It reminds me of playing Astro Bot Rescue Mission, but its not as good. Still, if we cant have Astro in VR (seriously Sony, shape the ***** up already) this will help fill the void!

Just finished my first run through of the Arizona Sunshine Remake, excellent if a bit short. Then I discovered it’s got two DLCs as well, so bonus! Also trying to clear my first run of Silent Hill 2 before the Pro comes, then it’s on to Alan Wake 2.

It’s AstroBot for me. And what a game that is! It’s a pure joy to play even surpassing Super Mario games for the many iterations I played so far in different consoles including Wii and Switch.

@FinneasGH I actually think wildlands is a much better game you should definitely check it out.

Red Dead Redemption 2.

I've got nearly everything from the trapper, completed all of Pearson's crafts list and upgraded the camp, and I'm still only at Horseshoe Overlook with Micah still sitting in the Strawberry jail. Life is good.

Alan Wake 2 the lake house dlc. Superb. Love it. And Hades 2 olympic update on steam deck.

Bought The Crew Motorfest on a whim after my youngest kept mithering to get it. It's ace

Persona 3 Reload on Series X/Laptop at the end of August now. Less than 2 weeks until Pro Time! Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2 Dlc, Rebirth, Quiet Place will be ready to go on Launch Day

Just platted Dead Space and dunno what's next. Make some quick Ghostbusting between watching the footie.

Dead Space Remake

After finally finishing Star Wars Outlaws, which I enjoyed, yesterday I was able to squeeze in starting one horror game this month. So far I'm highly enjoying it. I never played the original, so I'm going in completely blind.

PS5: After finally clearing up Sifu’s true ending last week (that last boss is such a difficulty spike), I’ve moved on to Space Marine 2 - the original Space Marine is what moved me to get a PS3, so I’m looking forward to getting more involved with this one

Switch: still moving about 3 inches in Minish Cap before getting stuck - loving the atmosphere and style of the game so far but I’ve trained my brain far too much on open ended Zelda, so going back to ‘one solution’ Zelda is difficult!

I'm playing Sparking Zero! having fun with it as I get to grips with the controls. Im Soooo very looking forward to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta next week. I haven't given up on Unicorn Overlord though as I'm about half way through it I think (52hrs)

..Prime 2 is an absolute classic. Just brilliant

For a couple of weeks I've been going between Dragon Age Origins, DA2 and DAI. Not one of my better ideas. Not least because they all have different world states since the final saves haven't been imported to each other. So, for example, in DAI Alistair is dead but in DA2 he's king of Ferelden. Still, it's been fun overall.

Also tried the Ys X demo and loved it, just a shame Veilguard is out in a few days so I won't really be able to play both.

I finally got to sit down and sink a few hours into Metaphor, that game is fantastic. I also fired up the new CoD on Game Pass, I played the first mission, enjoyed it, then immediately went back to Metaphor.

@ApostateMage 😆 Yep also still in Horseshoe Overlook and avoiding busting him outta jail. Y'know, it's like no matter what new games I play, there's just nothing like RDR2, nothing! Just keeps me coming back. It's in its own space, league. Timeless!

@KingPev I've played the first Prime multiple times, but for some reason never got round to the other two in the trilogy. Currently intending to play Prime 2 after I'm done with Hollow Knight.

I'm gonna finish shadow.of the tomb raider. Im actually really enjoying replaying this tomb raider trilogy again. I was gonna trying to play blops 6 but the PC gamepass version isnt working for me

And what an amazing game it is, I read the Eurogamer review and went for it, so glad I did.

I played KH Birth By Sleep from the 1.5+2.5 collection. Finished the 1st world with Terra but somehow i just feel the game a bit...boring.

So i pop up SF 6 and 5 hours later i'm still playing the game.

@CWill97 Congrats! I think I’ve finally given up on Sekiro. I just finished another 2 hour session losing to SSI. I can’t do it. Absolutely no belief left. I know his every move, I know how to beat him, but I keep making mistakes. Maybe one more session tomorrow before I throw in the towel and delete the game. It’s too bad because I’ve loved the game until this point

@mac_da_man I really enjoyed GRIS too! The team just released Neva, which is a definite evolution on the gameplay front. I’ve loved it. Worth keeping an eye on.

Call of Duty should be the only game on people's minds!

@KyushuTrail I had issues with him too. What I did was ceremonial tanto before the fight. Pellet to get me close to full health. Beat Genichiro without taking much/any damage (should be pretty easy). Phase 1 of Isshin don’t be afraid to run away/around the boulders. It will give you the time you need to use to heal. Chip away at his health then back off. Chip then back off. On repeat. Use your sugars and divine confetti on Phase 1 because he gives you time to heal and buff up. It’s much harder afterwards

During Phase 2 and 3, use the Suzaku shield. Keep some but not a drastic amount of distance away from him. When he jumps, shield up and hold. Keep the shield when he does like 3 or 4 gun shots. After I believe he does one slash that you can walk behind with the shield then do a shield attack with on him. After, he’ll go through a few moves from his move set then eventually reset to do a jump again if you keep your distance. So basically you’re baiting him for the jump on the last 2 phases. Also, don’t forget to hold block to restore your posture. The lower your health, the longer it takes to restore it as well

Once you’ve gotten phase 1 done, the shield trivializes the next two phases IMO

Just got the platinum in San Andreas definitive edition. What an amazing game still. Won’t be doing much gaming this weekend since I’ll be watching the World Series and football on Sunday. Let’s go Yankees!

Still Horizon FW. I’m taking my time with it, taking in the vistas and doing all sorts of open world stuff that I usually hate. Yes, this is how much I’m loving this game and universe. Added The First Descendant to my library on a whim and gonna see what’s what. I expect to be underwhelmed by the gameplay loop, horrified by the amount od grinding I’ll have to do to progress and uninstall the game. That said, I dread the possibility that I will like it and start playing…(gulp) live service games from here on out.

Rogue Flight - Wow! A mix of starfox,after burner climax and an 80s anime, just superb cheers Push Square for the heads up on this, this is the kind of "balls to the wall" arcade type game Playstation is missing at the moment.

@LikelySatan Just spent a happy couple of hours exploring the Fungal Wastes. The sense of exploration and discovery is something else!

I'm playing Robocop Rogue City and Hell Divers 2.

My main games at the moment are Metaphor ReFantazio and Sonic X Shadow Generations. Then some shorter sessions with Forza Horizon 4 and Broken Sword Reforged. Good times.

Grabbed Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth for 50% off in the most recent sale so checking that out. Slow start but confident it will sink its teeth in. Taking a break to watch El Clasico, have a nice weekend everyone!

@Northern_munkey Yeah it’s a great expansion. Can’t wait to see what happens next. I am still using my Eagle build. But if i get a drop or two that changes that then thats ok too. Cause they all look fun to play with that class. Oh yeah i know all about Vampire Surviors. That was on GP a long while back. It’s addictive. I might try and unlock Torment 3 tonight. I am still on 2.

@HonestHick I'm around level 48 on hard. I bought the expansion when it launched but I haven't had too much time to get really stuck in. I'm off this week so I intend to give it a good going over.

And you managed to get to the final boss of the most difficult soulsbourne game. Don't you dare to delete it. The only thing you should delete from existence is that boss

@KyushuTrail he took me dozens and dozens of times to defeat. Honestly I doubt I could beat him again right now 😂😂 the best advice I can give is to just keep at it. He’s a punk but a beatable punk. The more you play, the more his moveset becomes muscle memory. And don’t be shy to pop your Jizo statues and dragon blood droplets. It’s the final boss- just use everything at your disposal. You can also buff before the Genichiro fight and right when phase 1 begins of Isshin with no issues whatsoever. You’ll end up beating him soon I bet!!

Alan Wake 2, 10hrs in and I love it, it's spooky in a way only Remedy can manage.

@nomither6 There is nothing to see anyway the game is terrible and inferior to cold war in every way, the reviewers are glazing it and i don't know why, it's full of glitches and the campaign has a couple decent missions but the puzzles missions suck (literally make you play as a child and fight zombies) and the multiplayer is the worst ever with a horrible movement system on horrible maps.

Finished up Shattered Space on the XSX yesterday... going to play more / finish up on Astro's Playroom later on my new PS5

My son is absolutely obsessed with Cats Quest 2. We've been having a blast with that. Slowly working towards the ASTRO plat. Mario Party Jamboree is also the best MP in a long time.

Picked up Gris on sale so have been sinking into that. It's such a calm yet engrossing experience. Aside from Gris, decided I wanted something PvP with gun play that wasn't all about jumping around and slide-cancelling as soon as an enemy is close, so downloaded Battlefield 20...(52?) as I grabbed it when it was free but didn't try it. Quite entertaining having sniper battles while chaos unfolds around you.

Final fantasy 7 Remake on PS5 after all this time I decided to give it a ***** since the original PS1 version is my all time favourite game.

But I'm only on chapter 3 and it's okay it feels like FF13 for the corridor running and finding 2 areas it says had monsters but can't go in (yet maybe) to level up is annoying. Having no random battles is odd in the world off 7 lol

Well here we go with another superb WAYP. Been an absolutely amazing and superb week around here. Most of the week was just the usual games like Dawntrail and Metaphor. Similar plots funny enough and easily two strong GOTY contenders. Didn’t game much this weekend outside of some Dawntrail but that’s because I had yet again one of the absolute best days ever going to the city to see Friday Night SMACKDOWN in Brooklyn. Got some cool shirts from the merch shop and got to see 2 showings as it was a double taping and just had the coolest time. Played some Mario Party Jamboree too and man that game is superb it’s a lot of fun and super charming and I’d dare say best of the Mario Party games. Thinking the rest of the weekend will be some more Zelda and I’m thinking Call of Duty Black Ops 6.Yeah I think I’ll crack into the campaign as I’ve been really excited and interested in it. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Ace Attorney, Trails Through Daybreak, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Paper Mario, Bakeru, Dawntrail, Astro Bot, Emio, Star Wars Outlaws, Silent Hill 2, DB Sparking, Metaphor and Visions of Mana.Think on my day off I’m gonna crack into YS X as yes I finally got to buy that and it is absolutely hype. Also got Halloween this week and I’m celebrating in style with some Alan Wake 2 The Lake House leading into Halloween, setting up some scares for trick or treaters and after that a little Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered for Halloween night as my special Halloween game I do every year. And also at some point getting around to watching NXT Halloween Havoc. Only other wrestling thing this week is short and simple. WWE Crown Jewel is coming up and honestly it’s looking kinda hype we got like a possible 7 card set up including some cool matches like a 4 way woman’s tag team match or Seth Freaking Rollins versus Big Bronson Reed. Anime of the week gotta go to Dandadan. Yep just one anime this week because of the SMACKDOWN showing since it was so late to get home. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel, Aetheryte Radio and Remap Radio. @Zuljaras lol yep, Gog makes physical look restrictive. I still find it unfathomable that Sony actually put games on gog. I'm sure that's over!

DBZ Sparkling! Zero

For myself this weekend was finishing The Sinking City which was pretty meh overall. I liked the concept but it was so repetative and the wylebeasts needed to be better. That said I am curious what the sequel will be like as the are switching up from detective game to action horror and I spotted proper mythos beasties in the trailer.

Alongside that I did more RE4 VR, and the minicart level is excellent, and any VR naysayers need to try RE as it truly does reinvent those games feel to be played. Also started Kena which seems enjoyable so far.

@KingPev TWW will be a huge time sync, I have all but given up on retail WoW at this point as the slow move to making it more like an e-sport is just creating a huge time sync loop. Much preferring the chil vibe of Cata Classic where I can raid log and play other stuff in the back ground.

@Ilyn yeah I'm trying to resist the lure of Classic WoW but I know I'll cave at some point.
But the general consensus is is the TWW expansion is more solo friendly with bots for groups, solo delves etc, but I'm not that far in as yet. I played for 10 yrs from launch day back in '04, believe me that was much more hardcore. Nowadays I think it's as life sapping and hardcore as you want it to be
