The sun is finally shining, and the Easter holidays are approaching. So, what better way to celebrate the season than to shut yourself inside and play some good ol' video games.
Aaron Bayne
This weekend I'm packing up my bullwhip and fedora and heading off on an adventure with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5. Keep an eye on the site for the full review next week!
Jamie O'Neill
I'm hoping that April 2025's PS Plus Essential's inclusion of RoboCop: Rogue City will somehow rekindle fond memories of Data East's 1988 RoboCop arcade game, as well as Ocean's 1989 Amiga title.
Sammy Barker
I've been on a bit of a fighting game kick recently, playing two upcoming titles I can't talk about just yet. Watch this space.
Stephen Tailby
I treated myself to Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition recently, something I've been meaning to play for years. I've already played the first couple of missions, but this weekend might be a good time to blast through the campaign.
That's everything we're playing this week, then, but what about you? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

This weekend will be AWESOME!
I got my first copy of Castlevania Dominus Collection!
In the past 3 days I 100% Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow ... again, and now I am moving to Portrait of Ruin! My goal (like every time) is to get 100% map, 100% item drops and all weapons + spells
On the side I have the glorious Elden Ring and continuation of the journey of my Crusader in Diablo 3!
Happy gaming weekend everyone!!!
PS: When I made the sculpture of the warrior jar from Elden Ring, I thought how cool it would be to put a Switch cartridge of Elden Ring inside. But with those key-carts this seems ... painful
I'll be playing Hogwarts Legacy over the weekend. Being a new 5th year witch that's joined Hogwarts and was sorted into Hufflepuff.
I was going to chose another house but figured I might as well roll with it, especially as it seems to be the house everyone forgets about.
Been having a good time so far, exploring the castle and the surrounding areas.
Have a good weekend everyone!
After finally finishing Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered this week, I've started Kena: Bridge of spirits. Both are excellent games, and Kena has that ideal length for serving as an interlude while I wait for my copy of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
@Zuljaras I literally look at this thread on a weekend to see what you are playing next 😂 good to see wide taste is still a thing.
Props to handling Elden Ring though I think I would break my controller playing that.
On PS5 still playing AC Shadows and i decided to give Death Stranding another go and I'm now 20 hours in and really enjoying it bought it a while ago and couldn't get into it but glad i decided to give it another try. On Xbox I'm playing South of Midnight it's fun but the combat is kind of repetitive should hopefully be finished today or tomorrow.
I’ve got two weeks off and tonnes lined up:
Thank Goodness Your Here
Just Crow Things
Days Gone
Animal Well
Pacific Drive
Oblivion on PC or PS5 if that’s not a complete fantasy
Just finished System Shock remake which was fantastic, so felt like playing it in 1994
Might get a bit of Elden Ring or Demons Souls in too
I may or may not leave the house. That is, as yet, undecided
Have a great weekend folks!
Continuing with a combination of Zack Fair and Kay Vess. FF7 Reunion Crisis Core when I want some materia shuffling jrpg escapades and SW Outlaws when I want some sneaky pew-pew. Depending how things go, I might get started on Lost Records as well.
Started Resident Evil HD on Wednesday and am 🤏 close to the end of my first playthrough with Jill on Normal, so should finish that off today.
After some initial teething-problems with the controls and the save-system, it’s grown on me quite a bit and can fully appreciate its classic status within the gaming pantheon. Only 3 or 4 playthroughs left after that for the plat 😅.
@Jaxx420 beaten it only 2 times and I want more. It is one of the closest games to perfection
Me oh my, oh my oh me...still on the game that barely allows you to play other games - Baldur's Gate 3. Will try to sneak in a bit of Horizon Forbidden West though. And oh, Karlach is a masterpiece.
I think I'm finally at the end of the excellent Silent Hill 2 Remake. But how are some of these people on line saying they finished it between 12 and 20 hours??I'm at 40!
Enjoy your weekend all!
Vampire Survivors on the Switch (pretty sure this game will overtake Balatro in terms of hours played for me, 300+)
Snooker 19 (playing single player for first time as usually just play with a mate) and started Veilguard in the week so will try continuing with that even though something is bugging me about it, not sure if the cartoonish characters or the voice acting is to blame but I’m just not feeling it.
Enjoy your gaming weekend everyone!
I am about to go fight Erlang in Black Myth for the true ending then it will be some Astrobot before Indy next week
@JamieO did you play Robocop 3 on the Amiga? I am sure you did, was pretty revolutionary back in the day and pretty tough, it was an FPS and you could drive around Detroit City to jobs/crimes etc, it was really good with an excellent atmosphere, might not have aged well but I have fond memories!
Happy gaming folks
It's the masters weekend so I'm watching it live all weekend but...its Saturday so its dirt 2.0 and EA wrc rally evening with my mate too..it would be rude to not have the regular Saturday evening rally sim comp. Have a great weekend folks 👍
Still playing Forspoken. I beat the game, but I'm thinking about going for the platinum before starting the DLC. I feel like I've explored almost every area, so it shouldn't be too hard.
Nothing unfortunately, I'd hoped to get started on Animal Well or Miasma Chronicles before they leave Plus+ but other things came up. Maybe I'll sneak in some RimWorld on the Steam Deck, it would be rude not to. A horde of man-eating cats killed off my last colony, they need to be avenged.
Edit: I did stumble upon a nice PS1/PS2 haul though. A little dusty but many are sealed and there are some titles I didn't already have. I got through sorting most of them. The store manager stuck them in retail cabinets, they then got sealed and the owner stuck them in storage when they closed down. There were a lot of posters too but they got ruined by water damage, all but a cardboard Tekken3 piece. I see it a lot in old cinemas too, I've rescued a couple of hundred over the years from theaters/video stores, they are always the first thing to take the brunt of the damage unless they aren't paper. The video store paper ones aren't built to last, theater/banner vinyls are, they just take up a lot of space.
I mainly focus on rare books and horror VHS, and sometimes actual cinema reels too, but that's a gray area because some like Spiderman were supposed to be destroyed due to the NYC landscape changing, certain buildings were on the promo reels then pulled from theaters. I try to collect Academy Award tapes too, they'd be used for the voters/council of judges. And I have a fairly good collection of work prints/tapes from the ratings board, they were basically versions of the movie that might be missing CGI/finalized music etc. Nowadays work prints take away from the movie because so many elements consist of CGI, there's far less emphasis on practical effects to the point where it's costing people jobs. The sets themselves become very sterile when you have your primary actors talking to a green screen.
There's no proper preservation for film. Other than official vaults very few studios and distributors (that are still operating) are interested in it unless they can release it down the line with a better scan, but that's if they are prepared to pay for it. I focus on horror because it had limited distribution to begin with. Once it's gone now it's really gone.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I will be playing Kingdom Hearts 3, which I am enjoying sufficiently. Have a great weekend, fellow video game enthusiasts.
I'm playing horizon zero dawn forbidden west what a great game and crash bandicoot 4 I'm enjoying it buy by God It's tough and the challenges are something else anyway have a great weekend all
@Zuljaras The patina and weathering on that sculpture look great, you have a real talent.
Probably some Atomfall for me this weekend. I reckon I'm pretty close to finishing it. I'm not rushing though, however I do want to finish it before Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 releases in just under two weeks.
Triangle Strategy: A fun strategy game focusing on prioritizing troop deployment and placement that even early on forces you to think two or three steps ahead. The conflict over salt and iron creates a somewhat different setup for the story that I'm interested to see expounded upon. It's shaping up to be a long one, and that suits me fine.
Randomly playing Tunic (Kinda liking it) until Expedition 33 comes out, then that's where all my focus will be.
I'm on chapter 14 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake so I'll be continuing that. I'm also a few hours into Forspoken as I wanted to try out the cloud streaming on the PS Portal. It's an ok game, I might start Blue Prince instead on the Portal though. Either that or South of Midnight on GamePass.
@GirlVersusGame Thank you! And I learned a new word! I had no idea what patina means! Praise Google!

I’m spending most of my time in Night City. If only more people knew this is essentially the ultimate GTA game…
I’m finally and officially on annual leave for the next week so I’m kicking back with some more AC:S and Promise mascot agency. I’ve also got the Last of us remastered to head back to at some point due to season 2 just around the corner. Enjoy everyone ☺️
Basically the same as last week 🥳
AC Shadows - and still loving it! I dont burn out on these games, which is great for me 🙂 the patch that dropped earlier in the week was great, it made an already stunning world even more stunning on the Pro! What a world they've built, cant get enough! Also you can now sell/dismantle multiple items at once, but why the f that wasnt there from release is just baffling. Dont know how much of the main game I've done, I'm still on act 1 as I keep getting sidetracked and I love it 🙂
South of Midnight - Been looking forward to this so had to try it for a little bit but I could tell from that short time its s game I'll probably love. Very promising. But first Shadows, then this 🙂
I dug out the old Ninty 3DS for a trip up the country and it had Dragon Quest VIII on it. I'm hooked all over again on this absolute classic.
AC Shadows - Following the pssr update so my tv is reporting 60fps in the quality mode with hdr and vrr on ? very strange. I also have this habit of killing loads of npc's then piling them up next to fires or chuck them all in the water to make it red (i do this on all open world games) 🤣
Finished Atomfall and Avowed so picked up Khazan the first berserker after loving and beating the demo, this game makes Lies Of P and Elden Ring seem easy
Still on Avowed, played for about 8 hours, still in the first map area! Really loving this game, and the dialogue and party take me back to Kotor and Jade Empire times.
I’ve got the castlevania Requiem collection to start, might also download the crash Nsane trilogy as it’s in the sale. I was going to get indie next week but I preordered a Switch 2 so I have to watch the coins.
@Jaxx420 me too. Always look forward to his post on a Saturday.
Still chasing down the plat in Dragon's Dogma II.
I almost have it. Just 3 trophies left...
Mafia 2 and 3 are free with Prime gaming so my steam deck is getting some attention.
Playing Street Fighter 6 ranked match and i finally reach High Master rank at 1600 MR with my boy Ed 😃. Gonna keep playing because next week i'll participate at local online tournament.
Beside SF 6, maybe i will play something light or less intense like Metal Slug. Oh and i'm gonna try Persona 3 Reload demo.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
Trying to finish Deliver Us Mars before it leaves the subscription service in a few days but some of the laser puzzles with the splitters are taking me longer than they should. Hope I can get it done because I don’t really think the game is worth a purchase to complete (unlike Animal Well which I will be buying as soon as it is on sale).
I’ll be swinging my sword wildly and hoping for the best in kingdom come deliverance 2 on the 5pro. Dropping my gun at every possible opportunity in Hitman woa on psvr2 and fighting with the camera in jet set radio/future on pc.
I'm meant to be playing through Assassin's Creed Shadows so I can have it done by the time Indiana Jones and the Great Circle releases, but I've been mostly playing my Switch recently and that's probably what I'll play this weekend. I'm playing through Metroid Prime Remastered for the first time and playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the side. Hoping I can finish all my Switch games before I get my Switch 2 pre-order. I probably won't get Indiana Jones on release like I planned to.
Probably finishing up south of midnight on series x, such a great game with a much darker tone than I expected , great animation and voice acting and the music is superb , it should win an award this year for the song about Benji and rhubarb, toe tappingly good and quite sad.
After not playing much of anything this year, I’ve finally found something that’s cracked the ice: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I’ve been really sick lately, so the whole thing is perfect for the time balanced between fever dreams while the medicine takes time to kick in. I’m loving the game. I never got to it last year and just sort of forgot about it. When I was stuck at home sick, I wanted to play something for a bit in bed and dusted off the Switch to remember I’d never gotten to it. It was just hiding, waiting for the right moment, I suppose.
Outside that, my family’s started up the Blue Prince as well, which we’re enjoying a lot too.
I feel like I’ve been a bit upset with my gaming this year so far, so I’m glad to be feeling a bit better with what I’m playing now, in spite of my illness. Silver linings, you know?
Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll continue playing AC Shadows on my Series X, Continue playing Split Fiction with my friend on my PS5 and will also continue playing Metroid Dread on my Switch.
Will eventualy play South of Midnight on Gamepass because it looks quite fun.
Cheers and happy gaming weekend everyone
Wrapping up Atomfall I hope. Then more First Beserker of Khazan. What great games!
Then I am fascinated to try the Blue Prince and on my Switch I’ll finish Thank Goodness You’re Here
My gaming weekend is going to consist of the same games as the last several weeks: Xenoblade Chronicles X and The First Berserker. I’ve made significant progress in the latter, with only three main bosses remaining. The game is tough as nails, but fair. It’s easily the best Hardcore ARPG of the year. As for XBX, it’s really starting to impress me more and more, and becoming one of my favorites in the franchise.
@Dan12836666 I also really liked forbidden west (and zero dawn). I would say despite its success and appreciation, still an underappreciated game, since criticized by many for very weird reasons.
Assassins creed shadows on Pro with a great implementation of PSSR at 60fps no shimmer or pixel crawl.
I am still playing hitman and Wanderer on psvr2. It is so great that both these games made the jump to psvr2. The psvr2 versions of both these games are awesome (ignoring the current set of issues, which should be addressed already or in future updates). Since hitman just got a huge amount of fixes, I likely will focus on hitman.
Chasing Scared Sumos in AC Shadows 🤷♂️
After getting the plat in AC Shadows, I decided I needed a break. So ive been catching up with reading, movies, and TV. (The new season of Black Mirror is excellent and utterly heartbreaking at times!) Indiana Jones will probably be my next game.
@Ravix They move fast for their size, that's a lot of cheeks too.
Grimgrimoire Oncemore and The House in Fata Morgana. Long time wishlisted. Grabbed both from the latest sale.
@Northern_munkey could be 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺 dominance at the Masters. It's the evening when it's going to get interesting too, so you might have to have words and put the rally off just this once.
I had a sneaky bet on Aaron Rai to win, and after 9 holes or so I was thinking, man I'm good at this 😂
And in the PGA in general I think Rai and Bhatia (Impressed me last year and I hope he gets on the US Ryder cup team to see how he holds up there) are good tips for a sneaky outside chance major or Fed Ex cup win over the next few years. A lot of great new talent with calm heads are emerging since everyone f***ed off to the retirement league though.
@GirlVersusGame
Just big babies to be honest. They wanted none of that smoke 😂
On PS5 I'm having a bit of a gaming block, trued getting into SMT Vengeance but it's just not clicking with me, started Blue Prince last night and did 3 days and I just found it to be a boring experience, I'm also getting bored of my usual go to a Apex Legends. I need to look through my backlog and see if anything catches my eye although I'm thinking of Starting either Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning or Digimon Survive.
Blue Prince. It gets in your head in a way that's difficult to explain and it's been commanding my time.
Once I can drop that for a second, I'm loving South of Midnight and also AC Shadows. Neither are perfect, but I'm loving them both.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
@Ravix we've got it covered..in regards as to who's going to emerge victorious this year I'm backing scotty as I think he's on it. Starts cautiously but suddenly explodes and I'm hoping rose finally manages to show just how good he actually is at the best major of the year. Mclroy always chokes last day. It will be great to watch that's for sure. I'm out playing a round with my brother early tomorrow morning too.
I have not touched my consoles in a month. During the week in work a lot in the evenings, while in the weekends in spend time with the kids or going to a bar in the evening with the lads. Am I the only one that just don’t find the time anymore 🥲
Ghost of Tshushima. Hurtling towards Act 3 in and around work, kids and real life.
@Northern_munkey good stuff. It's hard to not expect Scheffler to win as robotic as he is, but I quite like seeing him lose the plot a bit more this year. He is basically just a month or two behind last year so he will surely be in top form for the middle part of the season. A vulnerable Scheffler makes for more entertainment though, so I'm hoping he still falters a little for now.
You can almost see the demons lurking over Rory. I can't ever imagine him being in contention and his mind not wandering to all that pressure. It's a big mental hurdle, and all it takes is one missed putt at the wrong time. If he gets over that it has to be commended though. If he can birdie those tougher holes while others struggle, and limit his mistakes he could run away with it. He should be totally able to do that on this course but it's unlikely due to all the mental stuff.
Looking at it now, it might only take a couple of solid days for Rose to do it. It really depends the type of players that have the inevitable low scores on one of the days. I can see Shane having one great day and one bang average or below average day, and even that might have him up there. Aberg could lock in and easily shoot 4 under twice and maybe push it lower if he's up there on Sunday and that round is going that way.
Fleetwood needs a new putter, ball, technique, something. He's absolutely mad for not trying something new. At the moment I'd not want him on the Ryder Cup team with the amount of putts he doesn't make.
The grouping of Rose and DeChambeau today... that's going to be... different.
Again no gaming this week in the centre of Kyoto staying in a traditional Japanese house with a few modern conveniences. On Monday I head to Osaka.
MH Wilds on ps5. Nothing left to do but just play for fun and practicing with variety of new main weapon with my teammates.
Just bought Devil May Cry 5 on steam deck. Can’t wait to dive in
Slowly chipping away at Nioh still. On the 4th region now. I love the shorter mission format of the game. Despite it taking a while to beat. The way it’s set up doesn’t make it feel like I’ve been playing it as long as I have. Just take a mission or two down each session.
WWE 2K25 will most likely be the main game I play on PS5.
Elden Ring, Sniper Elite Resistance, and I'll be checking out The Blue Prince too
i just platinumed BANISHERS: Ghosts Of New Eden so I went and picked up Rise Of The Ronin yesterday and started on that. It reminds me a LOT of Ghost Of Tsushima. Not very far into it yet to say how good of a game it is but from what I’ve played so far I’m enjoying it.
Other than that, I’ll be playing COD: BO6 as I always knock out the daily challenges and move on.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys what they’re playing!
Working through Another Crab's Treaure before Indy dominates my life next week. Surprisingly brilliant game, and hilarious too!
@Ravix I agree. People knock golf but it's physically and mentally taxing. I'm a competent golfer (play off around 18) so I can only imagine what it's like to compete at that level. Being 52 I can only imagine what it would be like to play at that level 🤣. Anyhow have a great weekend and enjoy the golf buddy 👍
PS4 - Bloodborne
PSP - Rock Band Unplugged
Started Jedi Survivor this week and Im loving it. Still on the first planet and it's alot bigger than the first game.
Downloaded Blue Prince so might give it a spin this weekend.
If I got the time, ill be delivering supplies in Arma Reforger.
Have a great weekend!
@Mostik It fascinates me that you have fond memories of playing Amiga RoboCop 3, because I missed it overall.
During its release in late 1991/early 1992 my gaming focus was on the Mega Drive and arcade coin-ops, while I saved for a SNES.
I definitely remember being impressed by multiformat magazine screenshots showing Ocean and Digital Image Design's (DID) polygon presentation of RoboCop 3, which felt unique for a 16-bit movie licensed game.
I looked it up online, and ZERO magazine praised DID in its 91/100 scoring review by saying that, "DID have built up a series of filled-vector 3D games each tied to the film's main elements."
I had friends and cousins who still showed me their Amiga games in 1992, so perhaps I saw Amiga RoboCop 3 in motion, but I don't remember for definite.
It's cool to hear you mention Amiga RoboCop 3 here, though.
Also, happy gaming back at you! I hope you get to spend time with both Astro Bot and Black Myth: Wukong.
@PuppetMaster Congrats on the 1600MR! 😃
Been enjoying Fallout 4 myself. The GOTY was all of €9.99 on the store the other day, so I picked that up. Haven't played the game since its original release in 2015, so there's more than enough time passed for a revisit. Plus I never played the DLCs. Plus it's the PS5 version.
Have Blue Prince lined up for a look too.
I started First Berserker Khazan and it's a really fun soulslike. I'm also continuing AC Shadows and showing a friend Ena Dream BBQ cause I love Ena and the first chapter is a fun time.
Baldur's Gate 3
Still going. Fairly early in Act 3 finally.
@playstation1995 Wow, mate, I've truthfully got a piece of note paper here with the title 'Kind PlayStation1995 WAYP Recommendations', to keep a list of your ace suggestions!
Here's my feedback on all four of your weekend gaming choices (below):
Many thanks and wishing PlayStation1995, as well as every Push Square WAYPer, lots of fun playing video games this weekend!
Just had a boss picnic in the sunshine with the family and now looking forward to finishing the last two endings of Atomfall tonight. Top game overall 👍
Have a great weekend and happy gaming everyone 👍
Gonna be working on Zoh Shia and Tempered Mizutsune in MH Wilds tomorrow. Have a good one folks!
Avowed (Series X) Still plugging away at this game so far I am 30 hours in and still enjoying it.
Diablo III (Series X) Since it came to Gamepass and I have been itching to play it again I decided to start a Crusader. I just hit level 20.
Madden 25 (Series X) After finishing up my college career I decided to go Pro and transfered my character to Madden where I was picked first round by the Broncos. So far we are 2 and 2 and looking to add to that win record this weekend.
It's a split this weekend.
Helping my 6y old son with some of the more complicated puzzles of Talos Principle Reawakened on PS5 (the rest he solves by himself).
And continuing my trek through The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered (on PC), in preparation for the Season 2 that's about to launch.
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Just bought my son a PS5 because he's an awesome kid who's obliterating school. He's cycling between Sakura Wars, Persona 3 Reload, Madden 25, and Unicorn Overlord so far. We'll spend time detailing cars this weekend and installing a dashcam into my wife's vehicle.
The parts cannon I fired at my mower has dried up, and now it runs amazing - a 20 year old machine that should hopefully last another 20.
Having just finished Unicorn Overlord last night (two trophies from the platinum, but I'm not spending hours in the mining mini game just to find treasure maps), I'm going to spend a bit of time sampling some games that I haven't finished. At the top of my list are Trails into Reverie and Triangle Strategy. We'll see how that shakes out.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
@somnambulance hope you feel better, video games can be great for taking your mind off feeling lousy. Okay, maybe not Doom 2016 or Outlast…
@Shepherd_Tallon I was going to go for the platinum too, but my trophies bugged during the true ending run. I was so pissed and didn’t have a desire to replay the game, but I will at some point.
@MrPeanutbutterz Thanks mate 🤝🍻
It's feels satisfying to reach this rank after a longgggg grind with plenty of loses and anger management lol. But i feel more satisfy to see that i got better understanding about my character and the game mechanics especially at mid-high level. My next long term goal is to get 1700 MR / Grand Master 😆
@PuppetMaster That's aces, my dude/dudette. I parked it after getting Blanka to Master as I wanted to grasp another character. I've Honda at Diamond 3, but haven't played in months. Blanka has bounced between 1450 and 1550 in that time.
That said, every match at that level has been a learning experience. And I hopped in for a Blanka-specific tournament and steamrolled it.
I placed in Diamond 1 with Bison for my qualifying rounds (and Akuma, but I attribute that to legacy/unga-bunga Shoto skills more than anything), but Ed is the most interesting of the DLC characters to me, I must give him a proper go! Plus I love Dudley, but feel this iteration of Ed is close enough to him that we won't see him for SF6, so I may as well dabble with him now.
Looking forward to getting back into it for Elena, and then the Season 3 update 🤩🤩🤩
This weekend it’s South of Midnight on Xbox gamepass and when I’m through with that I’ll start Terminator Resistance on PS5.
@MrPeanutbutterz I feel like there's less and less people using Blanka. I used to fought quite a lot of Blanka in the rank but these days he kinda drop into Dhalsim or Lily situation where it would be a rare event if you met one or two of them in the same day. But that maybe because my region isn't big on Blanka.
And i think i got Honda at Diamond 4? Recently i had FT 10 with a Grand Master Honda from my local scene and i got bodied 10-1 😔. Honda is really a menace if you know how to pressure with his magic button: standing MP and then continue with the stomp, slaps, dosukoi, or command grab.
You need to try Ed if you like Dudley. He's really fun and has a pretty deep layer that satisfy players who wants more advance play. Although, i think Dudley could make a comeback. SF 4 has two type of boxer; Balrog and Dudley and SF 5 has Balrog and Ed. I predict SF 6 could be the same but they might bring back Balrog instead of Dudley.
And yeah, i'm interested to try Elena. Sadly we need to wait for almost 2 month because SF 6 Fighters edition launch with Switch 2 😮💨
Droplitz Delight (Windows Phone) - Just going to work on this for the time being.
@Kraven I had something similar happen with Salt & Sacrifice. One of the ending trophies popped, but when I checked it again afterwards it hadn't registered.
Haven't played the game since.
My brother bought me MLB The Show 25, and I'm excited to begin my long journey of taking the Chicago White Sox from worst to first.
@UltimateOtaku91 Kingdoms of Amalur is always a great time!
Lone Echo with PS VR2 (with PC adapter) and revive, My First Gran Turismo, Galaxy Kart in VR2.
Robocop, Dark Pictures: Devil in Me.
Stellar blade , dragon veilguard , robocop and tlou2 (again ) - though this time the remastered version.
I have been having lots of WAYPer fun this weekend with my journey shooting from 1988 Data East (RoboCop arcade), along to 2023 Teyon (RoboCop: Rogue City).
I need to watch the original 1987 film again, to complete my blast through from decrepit Old Detroit to shiny Delta City.
Below is a link to my JamieOretro post on X with a montage of RoboCop coin-op screenshots, and a couple of pics from RoboCop: Rogue City, too.
Nice shootin', son. What's your name?
https://x.com/JamieOretro/status/1911332297959223416/photo/1
More Snowrunner and more Ragnarok. Two very time consuming titles for a very time poor person. But tonight I shall be watching the final round of the masters to see if Rory can finally get that green jacket! Big job on against Dechambeau. Come on Rory!!!!
@JamieO Murphy sir 😁
Ace Attorney Investigations 1. I told myself: “Take a break after the Apollo Justice trilogy. It’ll feel better if you wait on it.” …that wait lasted less than 2 weeks before I caved hard
I played some Lords of the Fallen (PS5). Combat is too easy after playing Sekiro, Bloodborne, Lies of P & Elden Ring. The umbral world with the lamp is pretty dang cool though. Platinum trophy seems like a slog in it with the terrible loot rates/system.
AC Valhalla I’ve been replaying region by region. It’s mindless fun. Story isn’t anything special but I love using my axes to brawl people in it. So I’ve slowly chipped away at another region. Got so overlevelrr so damn fast that I had to increase the difficulty
Debating continuing replays of Hades (second platinum) or Octopath Traveler 2 (same second platinum) on Sunday night
Really need a new game besides AA Investigations to sink my teeth into. More action or turn base focused.
@Northern_munkey cheers. Enjoy the round.
Has to be said Saturday was a spectacle and a half. 6 3's to start by McIlroy, Justin Rose seemingly getting flustered, I really don't think the pairing helped because Bryson is an... aquired taste. Scottie still not quite at it. And Sunday set up to be box office after the Dechambeau putt at 18 (how is his putting style even legal with 3 points of contact bracing up against his arm 😅) with the Rory and Bryson pairing I'm sure the TV networks dreamt of.
I can see those 2 taking each other out, if their is such a thing in golf. If it ends up about a battle between them and a bit of a pantomime someone could quietly sneak ahead before you know it as mistakes are shared between them. Scheffler, Shane, Aberg or Rose shooting 6 under could make it interesting if that does happen. Conners might quietly go about it, but it will be tough. If he putts a bit tentatively anyway he might have to hole out a few times to make up for Sunday nerves exaggerating that aspect of his game.
Who've you got?
McIlroy will need nerves the like of which we've never seen to ignore the circus that follows Bryson. I'm almost tempted to say he will win by 5 or end up fighting him 😂
It's so tight at the top it could be anybody..I'd really like Rory to get his jacket but he always chokes on the last round..
Ive been playing Talos Principal Reawakened most of the afternoon, its a great game, but that frame rate/pacing is a bit rough. Hope they sort that!
@Northern_munkey @Ravix god damn he’s had a bad start 🤦♂️ double b
@PlatinumMikey he's a choker..I hope he wins but I think he'll just fall apart..again 🙄
@Northern_munkey I know man. Still they are tied let’s pray 🙏
I still have the original Ocean Robocop poster on my wall, it came in the Amstrad box version.
@Northern_munkey Dechambeau he’s just too bloody good 😂
@Fishnpeas I actually have the original vhs somewhere remember those 👍
@PlatinumMikey 2 back to back bogeys..but mcilroys gone 3 clear..
@Northern_munkey boooooom loving it bro come on !!!
@Fishnpeas and @PlatinumMikey — Great stuff on you both keeping hold of goodies like old retro posters, and VHS tapes.
Fishnpeas, my friend in school had an Amstrad CPC 464, and we'd often play the flick-screen scrolling port of Gryzor, and the classic brawlers Renegade and Target Renegade on his Amstrad.
I've heard that RoboCop was an excellent movie game on the Amstrad, but I've been trying to rack my brain to remember if my friend owned it.
Like RoboCop, I think that Gryzor was published by Ocean too, while Renegade was published by Imagine ...the name of the game.
I was also looking back at Issue 100 of Computer and Video Games magazine recently from March 1990, and it has a small box-out that scores Amstrad Chase HQ a whopping 97%!
The Amstrad Chase HQ conversion has become well known for being technically impressive for an 8-bit computer port, retrospectively.
Cheers for your "Murphy" response earlier today too, PlatinumMikey!
@JamieO haha no problem my friend! Im a Huge fan myself. Used to watch it every other day as a kid when I got my own vhs player in the 90s.
Well here we go with another cool WAYP. The week was some cool games all around. Mostly Trails Through Daybreak, Mario and Luigi, Monster Hunter, Pirate Yakuza, WWE2K25, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. All continue to be excellent games, loads of fun all around I don’t think any of the games are bad so far they’re all exciting and feel good to play. Most of the weekend was spent with…. No games. Yep that’s right I was in NYC this weekend seeing the GF again. Watched Coachella actually it was pretty neat. Charli XCX rules. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some Monster Hunter Wilds. Yeah the plot is absolutely kicking into high gear with Monster Hunter and I couldn’t be happier this game absolutely rules each new monster is better then the last man it’s so cool. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, Tales of Graces F Remastered, Split Fiction, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Monster Hunter Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Disgaea 7, Atelier Yumia and Pirate Yakuza. Still wanna try to start Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition but work continues to be well….. work. Let’s just hope a Switch 2 is easy to get eh? The wrestling thing this week is WrestleMania 41. We basically got all the matches announced and yeah it’s genuinely kinda peak it’s like some of the best matches around. Here’s hoping we can see almost every title change or at least gimme a win for Jacob Fatu and Penta for the US Championship and Intercontinental Championship respectively. Anime of the week gotta go to Solo Leveling, Okitsura, Dragon Ball Daima, 100 Girlfriends and Shangri La Frontier. Yeah picked Okitsura back up again and honestly loving how much it’s teached me about Okinawa. And with Daima I finished that with the GF and honestly it was super cute and fun. Also gave the Devil May Cry anime a shot and I found it pretty cool and it’s given me the DMC bug again, feeling that big Vergil vibes. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Punching Up, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast, Let’s Anime and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be cool to each other. Have a totally safe and cool weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
@Northern_munkey @PlatinumMikey
Well, that was surely something. I love psychology in sports, and to see that was something special. The sheer amount of times he would have been thinking "oh no. I've f***ed it all up again" and to still stuff those thoughts down and play some absolutely bananas shots when he needed to do something. And doing that same thing over and over again all day as everyone watches, analyses, cheers and groans. An exhausting mental challenge.
Plus, it's great to see history!
First time i've seen Åberg lose the plot a bit, too. But if he is going to compete every year at the Masters, he will be fine.
And I must say, I quite enjoyed seeing Dechambeau wonder why hitting iron shots as hard as humanly possible wasn't really working for him. Can't chip it from a water hazard mate 👍 almost like golf karma finally caught up with him
@Ravix indeed it was a nail biter finish. One of the best I've ever seen.
@Northern_munkey @Ravix brilliantly put mate. It was exhausting and I was just sitting on the sofa 😆. So many times It was ‘here we go again’!. Couldn’t have been between a more deserving pair though, Rosey always gracious in defeat (I hope he’s got one more in him too!) a true English gentleman. Rory has now reached golfing immortality with the last man doing what he’s done being the utterly magnificent Tiger Woods (says it all really). So happy for ya Rory now take a break son you’ve earned it! 😮💨 ❤️
@PlatinumMikey @Ravix do either of you two play the road to the masters? If you do and you want to have a round or 20 then add me on psn..
@Northern_munkey I haven’t unfortunately I’m so bad at golf games it’s unreal just can’t keep the stick straight and playing it the other way just feels cheap😂. If I do grab it though I’ll let ya know for sure mate. Is there a ps5 version ?
@PlatinumMikey it's ps5 only 👍
@Northern_munkey winner I’ll have a look mate. Last one I had was the last pga one by 2k
@PlatinumMikey if you are on the middle tier sub it's included currently.
@PlatinumMikey @Northern_munkey
I'll have a look and see if I've still got it installed anywhere. Think I played it a little earlier this year, definitely played it a good amount last year. Could never get in to the 2K ones either.
What settings do you use by the way? as I'm somehow worse at it on easy basic settings, but not bad with a hybrid 'almost max difficulty' set up. I did try a few online with all indicators off and no zoom-in etc as well. But offline I usually have it as close to that as possible but with zoom-in enabled to save time not having to spend too long studying the course map to plot my way around 😅
@Ravix I think I have it on tour difficulty and I don't use the boost, spin arcade things..I try and keep it as real as possible without diminishing the fun.
@Ravix @Northern_munkey yeah I’m on premium so should have it. I’ve also tried all the settings I don’t know what it is. Just hopeless at hitting the right stick in a straight line bottom to top 😂
@PlatinumMikey it's a lot tighter. I think the swing is spot on.
@Northern_munkey yeah, it's impossible to legitimately read a green on a tv screen with everything switched off all the time so a little more balanced than the extreme mode. I don't use the guide lines on shots either, don't know if that's in tour or not, but either way it's only a preference that I don't like the blue line. I know I tweaked a few things so I can use more realistic draw and fades, which means I can draw it well but absolutely cannot fade it. My thumb just can't get the action for a fade right at all 😂 but it adds a realism, and I quite like hitting the odd atrocious shot to keep it interesting. And if a fade is the only logical play it is always worth the risk.
I think I've got it installed on the Pro actually, so I'll add you if I get around to playing EA PGA again soon
@Ravix 👍
Stepping away from the excellent KDC 2 (PC) this week for a little break and to show some love for other games in my ridiculously large collection I've been playing the following:
Conan Exiles (PC) - My perfect game for winding down. Having completed building a mighty fortress in my last game I decided to start anew, beginning with a small cottage, complete with an upper veranda. Just need to decorate it now. I also added a few visual mods as well to spruce things up.
Nier Automata (PS4) - Finally began this backlog entry. A marvelous game so far, sporting solid combat and fun exploration. Great soundtrack too. I can see why it's so popular. Cracking stuff.
Red Dead Redemption 2 (Series S) - Think I bought this in a deep sale sometime ago, but never started it. Yes while I'm very late to the party I'm very impressed thus far, especially with overall people performance on Microsoft's little box of tricks. It looks lovely, runs pretty well and I've found the experience very engaging. I agree with the train of thought that RDR 2 is more "cowboy simulator" than its predecessor, but you'll get no complaints here. I love it. Like Conan above I'm finding the experience very therapeutic.
Boltgun (PC) - Awesome pixel-art FPS. Bags of gore, lots of nooks and crannies to explore and the weapons in one's arsenal pack a real punch.
