Everyone, it's time. Over 3000 of you took part in our PlayStation Showcase predictions quiz, which was published on the day before the event itself. We presented you with 30 yes or no questions, asking you to predict what would happen during the show — and in this article, we're going to detail the results.

So, how well did the Push Square community do? Let's find out...

Question 1: Will Jim Ryan appear? (3,278 votes)

Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan did indeed appear during the PlayStation Showcase. Once at the start, and once at the end. He was also very clearly reading from a teleprompter. We're off to a good start...

Question 2: Will the rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 remake be revealed? (3,281 votes)

Correct!

You believed in the rumours, and you were rewarded. One of the most hype moments of the show was when Big Boss' grizzled mug appeared during an otherwise unremarkable trailer.

Question 3: Will a Persona game be announced? (3,206 votes)

There was a lot of buzz surrounding potential Persona news ahead of the showcase, but it didn't amount to anything. The wait to see Atlus' next move continues, but that's three questions in a row correct.

Question 4: Will Marvel's Spider-Man 2 get an October 2023 release date? (3,232 votes)

Damn, the early win streak ends here. This question was a bit unfair in the end, because we all assumed Spider-Man 2 would get a confirmed release date — but that didn't happen. We're still stuck with 'Fall 2023' until further notice, but at least the gameplay video was cool.

Question 5: Will we see Marvel's Wolverine gameplay? (3,243 votes)

This one comes as no real surprise when you think about it. Obviously the emphasis is on Spider-Man 2, but we did wonder whether Wolverine would at least get some kind of teaser, just to remind us that it's in development. Gameplay, though? A step too far at this point in time.

You got done dirty here. With Mortal Kombat 1 being announced just before the day of the showcase, it being present seemed like a logical prediction. However, mere hours after our quiz was published, it was confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 would be at Summer Game Fest instead. Dammit, Geoff!

Question 7: Will Neil Druckmann appear? (3,144 votes)

We would have bet everything on Naughty Dog being at the PlayStation Showcase in some capacity, but the premiere PlayStation Studio was completely missing in action, along with Neil Druckmann.

Question 8: Will more than five minutes of gameplay from The Last of Us' multiplayer project be shown? (3,128 votes)

You got this one right, but only just. We tried to make this question more interesting because we were convinced Factions would finally reappear at this showcase — but shockingly, it was nowhere to be found. The wait to actually see this multiplayer project continues, and it's only growing more painful.

Nope, turns out it was too soon for that anticipated Final Fantasy XVI demo to drop. Don't worry though, it can't be far off!

Question 10: Will Death Stranding 2 gameplay be shown? (3,049 votes)

It doesn't get much closer than that! Just 25 votes stopped this from being another incorrect answer. Death Stranding 2 didn't appear during the showcase at all, so we'd say it's pretty much a lock for next month's Summer Game Fest.

Question 11: Will any kind of Sly Cooper game be announced? (3,001 votes)

Wow, you lot didn't buy into this one at all — and your near total cynicism has paid off! Sly Cooper remains hidden away in the shadows.

Question 12: Will a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima be announced? (3,030 votes)

Pre-show chatter suggested that Ghost of Tsushima's inevitable sequel wouldn't grace us with its presence — and it didn't. If you were banking on PlayStation Studios showing basically anything, you were no doubt disappointed with this event...

You were bang on with this one. Jim Ryan was the only human to show up during the presentation, not counting the actors who appeared in the Gran Turismo movie trailer.

Question 14: Will Little Devil Inside get a release date? (2,817 votes)

No, we don't know what the hell's happening with Little Devil Inside either. The game's been missing for what feels like an age, and it's still out there in the wilderness, somewhere.

Question 15: Will a new Twisted Metal game be announced? (2,808 votes)

With the Twisted Metal TV show having been recently revealed, some kind of game-related announcement certainly seemed possible ahead of the showcase. But no, Sweet Tooth and his car combat antics swerved the event completely.

Question 16: Will there be any kind of update on PS Plus? (2,838 votes)

We thought there'd be something on PS Plus during the showcase as well — maybe an indie game reveal with confirmation of it coming to the subscription service in the near future — but nope, nothing.

Question 17: Will Rogue Legacy 2 be given a PlayStation release date? (2,640 votes)

The highly rated indie didn't put in any kind of appearance during the showcase, much to the disappointment of Rogue Legacy superfan and Push Square editor Stephen Tailby.

Question 18: Will more than ten PSVR2 games be shown? (2,749 votes)

No chance. PSVR2 got a relatively short segment towards the end of the showcase, and we didn't get anything close to ten games, never mind more than that. There wasn't even a montage!

Question 19: Will a PSVR2 spin-off game of a popular PlayStation franchise be announced? (2,683 votes)

You lot were so sure of this one, but it didn't happen. Sony's own plans for the current-gen headset remain shrouded in mystery.

You fools! You just couldn't believe in something, could you? Well, Granblue Fantasy: Relink did show up, and — wait, what? It only got a release window? Not a release date? Well, sh*t. You win this round. Thanks for nothing, Cygames.

Sadly, we did not get a glimpse of the next Monster Hunter game at the PlayStation Showcase. There's little doubt that Capcom's working on a sequel to World, but we suppose it's just too soon. A disappointingly correct answer.

Question 22: Will Dragon's Dogma 2 show up in any capacity? (2,479 votes)

Hey, we didn't see this one coming either. In fact, we'd have expected Pragmata to appear over Dragon's Dogma 2, but we got the latter — and it looks fantastic. Even better, the arrival of a gameplay trailer means that the project is actually quite advanced. Capgod!

We've got no idea where Pragmata has disappeared to, and it certainly wasn't hiding out at the PlayStation Showcase. It's been quite some time since we had any kind of update on this one.

Literally five of you have buggered this up for everyone. Tekken 8 didn't even play a minor part in the showcase.

You refused to take the bait on this one. We're still waiting for some kind of Killzone revival, but it ain't happening any time soon, it seems.

Question 26: Will Aloy from the Horizon games talk at any point during the showcase? (2,497 votes)

The bait is refused again! We thought this was an oddly tempting prediction — Aloy could have appeared in a montage, or example — but she didn't.

Question 27: Will new a new PS5 model be teased and / or revealed? (2,593 votes)

Hey, this is turning into a strong end to the predictions. There was no mention of a new PS5 model, just the official confirmation of Sony's handheld streaming device, Project Q.

Question 28: Will a new Uncharted project be present? (2,554 votes)

Damn, you're on a roll! The thought that Uncharted could return in some form during the showcase made for a tempting prediction, but despite years of rumours saying that there's a project in development, it's yet to materialise.

Question 29: Will a completely new PlayStation Studios IP be announced? (2,560 votes)

Yep, in fact, we got two: Fairgame$ and Concord, from two of Sony's more recently acquired studios. Feels like a bit of a monkey's paw moment, doesn't it?

Question 30: Will a Bloodborne remake / remaster be announced? (2,598 votes)

Wow, we've got to say, this wraps up an impressive run of correct answers. At this point, it feels like the PlayStation community could pay for the development of anything Bloodborne related and Sony still wouldn't do it.

This was an especially big predictions quiz, so it's quite impressive that you managed to get so many questions correct. What we've learned today is that it pays to be cynical when it comes to PlayStation Showcases. Barely believe in anything, and you'll be fine.
