Topic: Major online issues

Over the last couple of days I've been repeatedly thrown from Resogun, Helldivers and Rocket League - just what the hell are we paying for?

I used to be quite blasé about getting into games as there has ALWAYS been issues. But recently with the additional expense that everyone is forced to pay you would expect the network to be brilliant. But its broken. I cant remember it ever being this bad on the xbox 360, my phone can play every freaking free to play game with no issue. So what is going on?

@themcnoisy: What issue are you specifically having? The network's been fine these past few days to my knowledge, so it could be a problem with your ISP or router or something. Drop a few more details and I'm sure a few of us will be able to troubleshoot. Can you login? Can you get on the PlayStation Store? Are patches/game downloads working?

Are you sure it's not on your end? I haven't heard anything from Sony. You might want to check your wire, modem, router etc. Even maybe call your ISP to see if they are having any service problems.

I actually just got done trying to play online in SW Battlefront and Rocket league, rocket league was way more laggy than usual and I got disconnected from all my battlefront matches almost instantly after getting into them.

The games themselves keep booting me out for no reason. Only driveclub has been stable.

Mate this sounds like it's more than just online issues, there's something wrong with your hardware methinks. Maybe some major system fault. What sort of error messages do you get? Try to search solutions for those error message codes online, always helps.

I've been having the same problems with Helldivers specifically booting me out randomly for over a week. As has a friend. It went down entirely for 10 minutes yesterday.

That's really weird. Are you connected wirelessly or wired?

I'd honestly try contacting Sony. Not sure how much help they'll be, but they may have some troubleshooting procedures you can try.

Was planning to buy Firewatch today, but my download speed on my PS4 is somewhere around 8kbps, I can't even properly load the PS Store. Every other device works fine, so the fault isn't at my end. Anyone else having similar problems?

@Octane yes. What I tend to do is a internet test in the settings and sometimes the speeds miraculously increase. Sometimes they Stay slow. I tend to keep trying until it goes faster.

Another issue. I have a retail copy of Driveclub (cars) I just purchased the motorbike dlc digitally and its asking me to uninstall the car install. Whys it asking that. Will I lose all my car dlc?

@mcnoisey I did the same as you but the Bike DLC integrated fine without any need to delete and reinstall Driveclub. Try contacting the studio they should be able to give you the answer.

The same happened to me when I installed bikes. Now I can run bikes without the disc, but I can't access the cars content without installing the game. But it's kept all of my cars content available to view I just can't play any of it. I suppose if I put the disc back in it'll just reinstall cars and I'll be able to use both as normal, albeit with the disc in.

@themcnoisy: Tried it a couple of time, but nothing worked. I will try again tomorrow, hopefully it's just a temporary problem on Sony's end.

@Octane: it used to be really bad for me but it's got a bit faster as of late. That said, try putting it in rest mode while downloading, it seems to go a lot faster

@kyleforrester87: The thing is, I've never had a problem with the online services on the PS4. Only this weekend. I can't even properly load the PS store, so I couldn't download anything today. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully it'll be solved by tomorrow.

@Octane: It might be because of the free online they are having this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if you are fine by Monday.

Its a bit ridiculous - I'm keeping the cars on this week and next weekend hitting up the bikes.

In other news;
PSN is broken. We cant get a party going seriously wtf is this Sony I've seen less brittle brandy snaps. I'm stuck looking at messages struggling to load and its Sunday night. This has to stop.
