@ZeroXyko14: as far as things to know, start with the story missions. Grind your way through and don't be discouraged if something seems a little too tough to do. You can come back to it later when you're higher level.
There's always help available, if you need a hand or have any questions them most of us on here will be happy to answer them.
The story missions (vanilla, house of wolves, dark below and Taken King) and strikes (not nightfall) will get you to level 40 easy.
While you're doing this I can't recommend enough that you pick up every bounty you can. They refresh daily and you'll usually do them without realising. Once they appear with a yellow outline in your quest menu, turn them in for an instant xp bonus (as well as the odd bit of loot).
Keep strange coins and motes of light to one side til you're at least level 20. They'll come in really handy later on.
Once you hit level 30 or so then you'll want to start getting the really good gear. That's where the stuff we have been doing comes in. Raids, strikes, pvp, it all gives you decent loot and is the real Destiny experience.

Good luck with it! I hope you have as much fun with it as we've been having, and if there's anything I can do to help out then just ask.

@Johnnycide: I am sorry for not being able to reply immediately. I am currently level 40 with a light level of 200. It seems I am unable to join random strikes (whether from no available players or not having a substantial internet connection). If it is the former, then perhaps there might be players willing to go through the earlier raids so I can reach a high enough light level to assist in the current activities of this group. Thank you for the help (you have been the first person I have spoken to on the internet in over five years).

@ZeroXyko14: Hey man, you need to kill Oryx to access the strikes I believe. And not a problem dude, this is precisely for the community to ask about destiny!

And feel free to add us, we play together sometimes, so whenever you need anything give pushsquare people a shout.

So I need to kill Oryx just to play with others on even the year one strikes?

@ZeroXyko14: No, he means you need to unlock them by playing the story missions. I think some unlock before the last story mission. But maybe he's misunderstood, or I have. From what I gather, you said you can't play any strikes, including the year 1 strikes, so sounds like a problem with your network since there's still plenty of people available at all levels for match making.

Strange, you'll need to have a look about on the net for a solution.

@kyleforrester87: I thought so. I can play the strikes, but it won't match me with any other players, leaving me to try and complete it by myself.

@ZeroXyko14: Oh, that's really awkward. I don't do legacy ones in any case, but both others are working just fine. And I did mean completing the story, up until you kill Oryx the first time, I believe.

But hey, it's been so long that I have forgotten which ones were the points when strikes became available, I just dashed through the story missions to be honest.

I have been checking out other games and have been unable to play with others online (only on my playstation, splatoon works fine on my wii u). I will now search solutions online and try to fix the problem.

Right everyone, black spindle challenge again, and I found the tactic is the most surefire way to do this.

I need:

  • Another fully upgraded Defender Titan with Weapons on light.
  • Nightstalker Hunter with vanish.
  • Both to have good sword and shotgun

I myself am the second Defender Titan, and the plan goes like this:

TACTIC 3: Shotgun/Sword/Bubble

This is a quick run-and-gun tactic that requires a bit of luck and speed.

Ensure that everyone has shotguns and swords, and that you have at least 2 Titans (to be on the safe side).

Begin by rushing out on Driksis' platform (where Taniks used to spawn). You can have a Nightstalker drop vanish so you don't get shot at while jumping there.

One Titan drops Bubble (either Blessing or Armor of Light). Destroy Driksis with your swords and shotguns.

The other Titan must time his Bubble right so that when the previous one is about to expire, he will use his.

You should be able to kill Driksis quickly enough - and your team might end up dead if the second bubble runs out.

If you are, just respawn at the entrance - regroup there. Now you need to clear the mobs/blights that remain. Blights will no longer spawn when the boss dies.

NOTE:

This takes the fastest to finish but the requirements (shotguns, swords, at least two Defender Titans) is strict. It may even be a wipe if you are unable to kill Driksis on the second bubble expiring. This is because you will be swarmed by mobs, and more continue to spawn if Driksis is alive.

Who's in?

P.S: Also, put the generate orbs when bubble receive damage to ensure we get a good amount of orbs. We should be able to stun lock the boss in the middle of the bubble because I got the blind effect from my helmet, it'd be good if the other titan had the helm of st 14 but that's not really mandatory I don't think.

Yeah I can do it as titan. My sword has all perks unlocked but I don't actually have the weapon parts to max it out (I was an idiot, don't ask...) I've a purple shotgun at around 280-285 damage.

@kyleforrester87: Kyle, you're in mate. Haven't you got the 300 Conspiracy theory D from the quest?

Any nightstalker to help us through?

I have the Nightstalker....

As I was saying when we attempted it, the key is to kill Draksis as quick as possible to stop the blights respawning and then focus on the ads.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

@BAMozzy: @kyleforrester87: We got a team.

Around 7 is good for us all?

The plan is very simple really, bubble up with him inside and blast him, might be great to also get him tethered if he gets frisky, but mainly sword him and shotgun him down as quick as possible, with a good timed bubble so we don't get damage from the ads. Then even if we die, we either shoot adds to get our supers up and go again, this time with one titan as sunbreaker to be sure to get the damage output maxed, or if successful killing him first, deal with the blights and then deal with the adds, every titan changes to sunbreaker to clear up fast, and sword the sh!t out of what's left.

Guys, I'll need to do it as fast as I can when I get home, the missus is coming tonight, impromptu so, I'll have until half 7 to do this, or she'll enrage, and we all know that enrage is bad for us all.

How soon can you be on?
