@Severian I love the DLC and can’t really stick the main game but I’d still recommend you stick with your HK file for now. You can always play the DLC on your other version if you decide to play the game again later on, this way you won’t have to lose that save file?
@nessisonett yeah I was close to the end for my HK disc, so I can potentially beat the game and do a practice NG+ run while OP to prepare for a completely new character in the digital edition and refresh my skills and the map. I put the game down in hopes of getting the DLC discounted, but it’s been months already and I was getting tired of waiting.
In retrospect, I could have just bought the digital package on the HK store, but this is the way the dice roll.
@Severian Hey I fell foul of this too. I accidentally bought a US copy of Bloodborne (didn't even realise), played it and was ready for the DLC only to find after buying the DLC that DLC and saves are not compatible.
I'm not sure if it is possible BUT could you try and purchase the DLC from a HK storefront or a code so that it is compatible? Might be risky but at least it would stop a replay.
In the end, to play the DLC, I started again from scratch which I actually really enjoyed because I had the hang of builds and what I wanted to go for
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Rudy_Manchego that’s what I realized before—should have bought the HK version instead of the US version, but now I don’t want to buy the game a third time and see that they tell me it’s for the Singapore store like what they did with Street Fighter V for me!
@JohnnyShoulder NOPE. It does not for Bloodborne or Street Fighter V, so I'm sorry to say it doesn't default to the account I am using, and while I do have a US and HK account, I opened a Singapore account for SFV and then decided ultimately that three accounts and no transfer of DLC between accounts isn't worth it.
With SFV, I had to open an SG account to get the DLC for SFVCE. But when I played the disc again on the US account, the DLC did NOT work--I had to be logged on to the SG account.
It is for this reason I am sticking to mostly digital on the PS games moving forward.
So the rumours were that Bluepoint are working on a Remaster and an original game at the moment. Now the rumours are that Remaster is Bloodborne and that original game is Bloodborne 2:
Obviously pinch of salt required… and ideally every Bloodborne fan would want FromSoft to make a sequel if it were to be made but it’s still exciting no doubt. If this does turn out to be true, a Bluepoint who have delved within the innards of Demons Souls and will get to poke around inside Bloodborne could be the next best thing.
I just want a simple 60fps patch with no frame pacing issues. Yes the frames are tied to game mechanics but Lance MacDonald did it already and the game didn’t break…..
@Mega-Gazz I get you… but as a platinum-hunter I want a remake (with all the bells and whistles like 60fps etc) so I can plat it all over again. If they just patch it, there will be no new trophy list 🥺.
Nice to see people are still enjoying this gem. Definitely has the best pvp of all the Souls games. And the theme really is fantastic. The builds you can use in this do feel so varied, really love those trick weapons. I didn't mind the woods so much. I can't remember the name of the area, but where enemies auto revive was the most frustrating part for me.
@velio84 Summoning NPC'S and real people is absolutely part of the game and not considered cheating. Anyone that says so is being a bit of a jerk.
The only thing that puts me off summoning randoms is that they could either be totally OP and just batter the boss, therefore taking away the enjoyment and accomplishment you get from defeating the boss. Or they could just troll you and do nothing, die quickly, making the boss more difficult as summoning increases the bosses health. So if you are gonna summon someone irl you are better doing it with someone you can trust, as you can set a password so you get no randoms.
Anyway, glad you are enjoying it and sounds like you are making good progress! Another tip is that if you have the dlc don't beat the final boss in the main game, as that means not being able to access it until you get to Catherdral Ward.
@velio84 hey dude, just thought I’d chip in on the Chalice Dungeons… so as far as ‘level’s’ go, they are a bit uninspired and even become a little boring the further you play through them… but (& it’s a big BUT) there are some phenomenal boss fights in the Chalice Dungeons. I’d argue that they’re worth playing around in a bit just for those.
@velio84 Good plan. Yeah I would place the DLC for both games at about the same level. I never did finish them both as got to the last boss in both of them.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@velio84 yeah Bloodborne was my first ever platinum and it’s a pretty good trophy list to be fair. And yes, you need to play through to (& beat) Yarnham… which takes a good chunk of time. You also need to collect a weapon that you can only obtain in the Chalice Dungeons.
If you try them, I’ll be interested to hear how you get on with the Chalice Dungeon Amygdala… for my money, the biggest challenge in the whole game (including the dlc bosses, who are also a big challenge).
@velio84 It maybe not too bad if you go after these things, but personally I didn't bother even attempting the platinum, as with all other FromSoftware games it sounded like too much of ball ache to do. There are three different endings, so unless you save scum, multiple play throughs are required.

@velio84 There are 3 separate ending trophies, each of which can only be unlocked once per play-through. If you would like to do this in a single play-through then be sure to back-up your save file to USB or Cloud first before talking to the final NPC. That way you can restore the save file multiple times to unlock the different endings in a single play-though. As Bloodborne is a PS4 game, you should still be able to do this on PS5.
I did this on Sekiro as I chose the 'wrong' ending, mistakingly thought I could go back if I did this. So I downloaded a save from the cloud. I still have that on a memory stick somewhere, but by the time was finished with Sekiro I was done with the game and didn't want my memory of the game tarnished by replay it.
For the trophy for obtaining all weapons, upon defeating the final boss you will also receive the Old Hunter Badge, which will allow you to purchase the final weapon required at the Bath Messengers for 60,000 Blood Echoes. This means that you may need to play NG+ briefly to accumulate the Echoes to buy the weapon and unlock the last trophy.

@velio84 nice work bud… and yeah the first few dungeons are quite ‘low level’ relatively speaking… but it certainly ramps up. I have read that the later dungeons (the later ones required for the platinum anyway) are somewhere akin to ng+4/ng+5. Because of this, I left them for last… well after completing the dlc but directly before the final boss of the ‘main story’, so I was at a high as level as I’d ever be during my playthrough.
@velio84 it’s been a good while so I couldn’t say for sure… was probably a wee bit higher than 80 though I’d imagine. Don’t forget though, you’ll start getting a load of blood echoes from the Chalice Dungeons anyway as you progress.
Also, you’ve probably heard this already but the dlc is incredible… probably the best content of the whole game. It’s good value too as it’s pretty large as far as dlc’s go.
