@kyleforrester87: Not far. I'm on mission 17. I was doing every main and side missions, but I stopped doing side ops so I can get trhough the story. I have around 20 hours in and I definetely don't plan on 100% it for now...
@Jairo_MC: Ah, see I kind of went wrong there - I managed to clock around 70 hours or more before I got to mission 20, so was feeling a little burnt out by it by the time I got back onto the main story. I spent a bit too much time messing about/doing sideops and collecting staff/resources. Now I'm getting back into it I'm going to focus on the story missions and then polish off the rest toward the end.
@kyleforrester87: I kinda wanted to do more side ops, but I really don't want to have the ending spoiled. I went on a vacation recently and there was a flood of articles discussing it (that I avoided like the plague). When I got back I decided to only do the Main Ops and later I'll try more of the side ops.
Just popping in to say that unless something changes, Destiny: The Taken King will be counted in Push Square's Game of the Year staff vote. Not sure if that's going to sway things here, but thought it was worth mentioning.
@darkswabber: The most points will be first, second most second etc. There will be a multi rounded competition in January for every playstation game ever starting on either the first of January or Xmas day. This is completely separate to this and you can see it in my blurb at the bottom of this comment you are more than welcome to join in with that too.

Be interesting to see your choices and I'm a big fan of your reviews so whatevers top of the official pushsquare goty I will buy (unless I have it already)

@themcnoisy We're still in the process of finalising things at the minute, plus there are still several possible contenders releasing in the next couple of months. It's bound to be tight though - this year has been amazing for good games, really. We'll also be doing a community vote as well, like we usually do.
Looking forward to seeing how this forum vote goes anyway, it's all pretty interesting!

My personal GOTY would have to be Rocket League. I think it's just the perfect formula for having fun with a game, the cars are super fun to control, it's really satisfying to give the ball a good thump and honestly it's one of the few games I've ever played with can provide a consistent source of lol moments throughout. The fact that it's nearly impossible to have "control" of the ball results in just hilarious moments of gameplay. The cherry on top was that it was part of PS Plus Fantastic game, surprised it's not getting more love here
It is a fantastic game, the amount of car customisation is brilliant. I was harsh on the game initially due to the rubbish single player, but actually the multiplayer is the best since Bomberman on the snes.

I'd probably go with Metal Gear Solid V. I know that's boring and will feature on most people's list and I wish I could mention some hidden gem that not everyone has played or heard of, but MGSV is an exceptional game and you can't get away from that.
Witcher III was excellent as well, but I also enjoyed Everyone's Gone to the Rapture (gfx blew me away, plus growing up in the 80's UK there is that nostalgia aspect which will pass many players by). I loved the art style of Bloodborne but I really struggled with that game, I finished it but it was a hard slog - I just don't think I'm very good at FROM software games and can't see myself buying a sequel for sanity reasons.

So far for me it would be ESO, but that could change when Battlefront and Fallout 4 is out. Still got to play through the uncharted collection and really enjoying Fifa so I'll leave this till then... I also need to get Batman and Dying Light as well!
