@BAMozzy That's nice, I might go for the platinum on this. I have to say the game has really surpassed my expectations.. already looking forward to hearing about where they'll take the franchise next.
ive just got to Makers End and im about to fight the big ancient machine they've unearthed - how far through the main campaign am I?
@kyleforrester87 I think around half way through the campaign at that point.
@Mega-Gazz Data points are not necessary for any trophy. I missed 1 in the quests and only found around a third of the ones in the wild. There is only 1 'random' trophy - one that's not really shown as a 'collectable' and one possibly missable. If you do everything before the final mission - which is indicated (I want say more), then you really shouldn't miss any. There are a few that you should get through playing, plenty of chances to get them anyway. Its not a difficult game to get platinum.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@KratosMD Not that I am aware of. I don't think there is anyway of finding them all built into the game. Iif you want them all, you will need to find an a guide elsewhere - at least that's what I assume. Like I said though, they have no 'importance' to completing the game.

I also seriously need a detailed guide about how much of each thing I need, so I know what to sell. Currently at 79/100 resources AFTER selling... because I don't know if its safe to sell the lenses and hearts of each mob, and how many of each to keep. Also the various glass things.
@Mega-Gazz That's essentially it. Once you have purchased the any/all the purple weapons/gear, its safe to sell EVERYTHING that's not used for Ammunition. You can trade Animal parts to a specific dealer for 'mystery boxes' or sell to any for Shards. By the time I finished the game, I had all the purple armour and weapons and still had around 60K in shards. I ended up selling even purple Mods to make room to receive 'more' mods and 'Tinker' was my last skill to upgrade - just because I had no need to remove a Mod or worry about losing it when I replaced them with something better.
I do have (upto) 4 of all the hearts/lenses though. The reason I keep 4 and not 5+ is that I can easily see if I have double stacks (6+) as they look so similar and also means that if I do pick up 1 in the field, it doesn't automatically start a new slot restricting my capacity. However, you are totally free to sell these ALL and just keep the ammo resources as they are really only needed for the the armour/weapons and once you have the Shadow items, you have the 'best' you can buy.
@KratosMD I know what you mean - certain animals seemed 'reluctant' to drop the skin/bones I needed but its no different from the 'robots' either which don't always drop 'green' lenses or 'purple' hearts. Hunting animals though is still fun and certainly needed for the meats to make health potions. Geese and Rats were the most annoying for me. It wasn't a 'major' dislike or annoyance at all though as ultimately hunting these as well was still fun if not as much fun as tackling the Robots....

I'm just taking it as it comes with the loot and mods really, certainly won't go totally out of my way farming for stuff. Doesn't even seem necessary, I'm making do with what I've got when it comes up more naturally.
I won't stress over what I can and can't sell unless I have no shards, which isn't the case
@kyleforrester87 Shards aren't really an issue. The main issue comes from 'storage' and knowing whether you want to keep/sell an item that may be required for purchasing, completing a quest or upgrading capacity later down the line. It can be annoying to sell an item that you then need. Some things, like Animal skins/bones, are relatively easy to acquire as they are quite numerous and easy to kill but something like a Thunderjaw heart may take a while to get hold of and require a bit of travelling between sites to locate a Thunderjaw to take down. Its not like its guaranteed either. Even with a Max resource capacity, it doesn't take long to be fill the 100 slots.
I made a note of a few specific items I needed to get to upgrade my pouches and made a 'conscious' effort to locate the sources but only whilst travelling to the next objective. For example, if I needed a Raccoon Skin, on route to my objective marker, I would scan and tag Racoons but I wouldn't stay in and around certain areas just hunting Racoons until I acquired their skin.
As I had every purple armour, I didn't really need to constantly swap out Mods either. If I came across an Enemy dealing mostly Shock, I swapped armour for the one that offered Shock protection and boosted that by using Shock weaves. I didn't need to keep the Mod if I swapped it out because it was lower stats than the one I was replacing it with so wouldn't be using it anyway. Once you get a certain Armour, you won't need any Armour mods again. Mods are another thing in very plentiful supply so I was constantly selling all the greens/blues to create space and then selling purples too just so I had space to pick up items rather than have to drop stuff to make room or leave stuff behind.

@BAMozzy I'm using the purple stealth armour and never feel the need to change it to be honest. Maybe I'll come across harder enemies but its not worth the effort getting all the other armours and mods for them in my opinion, at least so far..
Can you not turn any missing ingredient into an errand with a pointer taking you to where you can find it? I can't check right now but vaguely remember there being this option. Having said that, like you I just hunt on the way. Haven't used the fast travel much, I just enjoy the world and the random encounters it offers. Last night I beat the first cauldron, love fighting Bellowbacks, they are such a joy to take down. By the end he had all containers destroyed. How do you aim for the ones attached to their bellies, heavily obstructed? I tend to get lucky but there doesn't seem to be a way necessarily to topple machines in such a way as to expose it better. But maybe there is? Haven't used traps yet, would that do the trick?
You can also freeze or stun enemies to have a better chance of hitting certain spots. The hunting lodges offer various challenges to complete which helps you get a better understanding of the variety of tactics at your disposal. I am sure there is one involving hitting the canisters under the Bellowback...
You can set a quest for parts - not sure if it takes you to a specific area to hunt these animals or not as they are basically everywhere. I never set a quest myself as I tended to make a mental note and target those animals on route to my next objective and I wasn't necessarily rushing to that objective or taking the most direct route. More often than not, I had the parts required before I reached the area I was headed - some animals were a bit more awkward - fish for example are only in water so not always possible, geese seemed to be only by water too and flew off if you got too close - best to highlight and tag if you need geese parts. Rats are difficult to see in general so again best to highlight and tag too.

I've hammered this game all week, I'm level 47 on a level 14 main quest and I still have one Tallneck area to unlock and clear. It's just too much fun being caught up in battles everyehere you roam. I think I've only used fast travel about 3 times. Guerilla have created a strikingly beautiful world and it's a joy to play in it.
@kyleforrester87 I swap out my outfits depending on the battle as I've found the resists really do help. Same with the potions. But! I've also rolled without and survive just fine once the machine tactics are known.
But I'm an outfit gal, and I love the different looks. The fire resist looks lovely and is my go to travel (unless I'm in the mountains haha). I also like the silks general outfit too.
