I just checked and I'm 80% done... I'm excited to see how it ends but sad that it will be over. This game is my early favorite for GOTY and one of the best games this gen.
Finally killed a thunderjaw.... it was a pushover compared to the stupid birds (the stormwhatever, not glinthawks), mostly because I could lay down like 6-7 blast line traps and it stupidly will walk over all of them, and each trap does 480 dmg...
God damn just met the Stalker and feel like smashing the controller against my forehead! Swear I read someone say the other day that this game was too easy!
@roe Stalkers are quite tough but Tear Arrows will definitely help a lot. Hitting them with these will rip off their stealth ability. They are not too tough to kill in terms of damage - its not like they are sponges. What makes them tough is there invisibility. Also always use your focus - its no good if they invisible but they only go invisible when they know you are around. Literally running into their domain can be a bit tough but if you are aware, sneak and use tear arrows to stop them going invisible, they aren't so tough...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
@roe I was just doing the hunting trial where you have to kill 2 of them in 2 minutes, with other machines around. That was a pain in the posterior .... but as others have said, in this game planning and initiative is everything.
Cheers guys. I did manage to get through it in the end (after about 10 tries) thanks to 2 dozen fire arrows and the balls to stand and fight it at a closer range.
Not looking forward to that hunting trial by the sounds of it but all practice is good.
I kind of wish animal hunting was a bit more thought out but hunting the machines is just brilliant. Can't wait to meet the Stormbirds, Thunderjaws and probably one or two more that I haven't read about yet.
I just finished it. It's such a fantastic game... In some ways it felt very familiar to other games and in other ways It felt like nothing I have ever played before. I desperately want some more content via DLC.
I just need one more trophy for the Plat but I'm stuck on a hunting trail.
I found two Thunderjaws together, managed to override one of them and hide in tall grass at a safe distance to watch the epic showdown. It was made even better when Redeye Watchers and Scrappers joined the ruckus, of course, they had no chance. Man, I love this game.
@andreoni79 Without rushing through it, I spent 75hours getting to the end. When you beat the game, it returns you to a point before the final stage - although you don't lose any gear etc you have collected in the final phase. As such, you have exactly the same freedom etc you have all game and any opportunity to finish off any side quests, hunts etc. Only one trophy may require you to play the final phase again if you missed it and 'shouldn't' require you to replay the whole game - at least not that I have heard - but all the others can easily be tied up afterwards if you want. I got the Platinum on beating the game myself as I collected everything, completed all side activities etc before I embarked on the final phase.

It took me 63 hours to 100% the whole game. It can without a doubt be done faster if you rush through it but I would never recommend rushing through this classic.
@andreoni79 This is a great site for those sorts of questions - How Long To Beat - But I always found that I spend longer than it says - still, a good reference.
Thanks guys. Then gamers ask for DLC not because it's shorter than expected, but because it's very good!
According to howlongtobeat I should have platinumed Nioh in 86 hours; I'm 93 hours in and I still have to beat the main story
I've had nearly a week off but returned to Horzion with a vengeance last night. Also got some time off coming up. Still early into the story but I am literally collecting everything and doing everything in an area before moving on storywise.
I need to get better at combat and experiment more with different weapons but that is the beauty of the game. I can see this game lasting me for ages!
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Splat Exactly...I'm thinking about starting another play through! the game explained everything...no questions remained...but there's this feeling that you still have this thirst for the gameplay and the character!
