So, this game looks and plays AWESOME. I was so impressed with the demo (on PC, but I can't imagine it's too much different on PS4 other than a bit less visual detail and maybe a lower framerate on the base model). The in-game map is really useful. The limited inventory space is a bit jarring, but this is a survival horror game, which means knowing which supplies to prioritize is essential. This plays a lot like RE4, but the more action-y combat is balanced out by some incredibly aggressive enemies, so it's still feels scary and intense and less like I'm shooting fish in a barrel. It seems like Capcom has finally found out how to harmonize the action-gameplay of later entries with the atmosphere, puzzles, and sense of vulnerability in earlier entries. The incredible lighting and sound design go a long way toward establishing the really horrifying atmosphere of the game.
If the entire game is this good, it'll be an easy GOTY contender for me.
Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)
Yeah I didn't have any problems with the controls or camera either. The only thing I didn't like is having run set to L3, which I never like. Hopefully you can customise the controls, I didn't get a chance to check when playing the demo.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@JohnnyShoulder L3 to run was fine for me, as it's a case of clicking to turn it on and releasing, and not a case of holding down the stick. It's annoying in other games having to keep the stick held down to keep sprinting.
At least you don't have to mash X.
I didn't really like the opening door action, he just sort of waves a paw at it and it flops open. I tried mashing the button hoping he'd kick it open but he didn't. Maybe there's a trick to that.
@kyleforrester87 Its also pretty cool that zombles can bust through doors this time around makes me hopefull that they are working on Resident evil 3 next having Nemesis kicking in doors trying to get to you would be great
@Frigate weird coz I tried that and on both accounts my bullet didn't seem to damage the glass but the zombie broke through immediately after I shot it
@JohnnyShoulder in the original you played both to get the full story anyway. You'd do Leon A, then Claire B or the other way round. I don't know how the scenarios in this will work to be honest but I'm assuming you'll still be wanting to play both. In fact you'd probably want to do all 4 - A/B, then B/A. I think that unlocked the "true" ending in the original.
@Frigate I don't see them making any changes at all this close to launch to be honest, at least not anything really noticeable.
@LieutenantFatman game sizes don't worry me too much to be honest, if a download is big I just wait longer. It's strange when some people won't download something because it will take a long time.. just start downloading it already! Lol

Oh, I'm not fussed about that, just how much space is taken up on my teeny tiny 500gb hdd. But 21gb is very good for a big retail release I'm happy.
Well, the demo was underwhelming to me. I ran out of time and failed to complete it. My main problem was that 30 minute time limit, though I wasted the first 5 or 10 minutes of that just in the first room looking for an answer to a later puzzle before I found a way out of the room. The zombies would have been scary in normal circumstances, but in this demo I was more worried about running out of time or potentially rushing past an important item. The atmosphere was good though, especially with all those those dark and ominous rooms.
So, I'm not generally a fan of survival horror games, and this demo didn't do anything to change my mind about this game, but at least I gave it a try.
