Topic: Ridiculous trophies and feats

After seeing some amazing trophy hauls from you guys, I started picking off the odd trophy on Friday in Valiant Hearts, Resogun and Trials. It started off pretty well in valiant hearts as most trophies are collected on the way. But trials is completely different - its impossible without watching videos and the trophies are so obscure its arduous rather than fun. should I quit now and what are some fun trophy hunting games?

If you are looking for some games to get easy trophies I suggest the Telltale games like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Tales from the Borderlands. The stories are really great and you rack up trophies like nothing.

The Order ain't too hard either and you get a chance to play a heavily underrated game. Also I have a rule for my trophy hunting: if it's actual work, it's not worth getting. I don't mind a little extra effort with games I really enjoyed. I always think of the platinum trophy as my "respect" paid to the developers to do and see everything in their game I throughoughly enjoyed. I'd love plat GTA V and The Last of Us, but obviously, both tames are a BUTTLOAD of hard work grinding for trophies.

So my advice to you would be, if you enjoyed a game consider going for the plat, but never keep a game playing beyond it being fun just for that trophy greed.

I have 3% of the trophies on tlou, I finished the game on normal and that's all I got. 1 silver and 1 bronze. Whopppeee.

Lego games are quite fun. People say they're repetitive but I enjoy them. It's no different to Diablo or shooting someone the 3,285th enemy. The Telltale games, as said; the original Sly Cooper, not the other three; Guaccamelée!; Time Leap if you know Japanese; Trine 2 is absurdly easy and can be Platinumed before you're half way through the game; Far Cry 3 is a fun one until you hit the co-op missions; Tearaway on Vita is fun and simple, if you need more than six hours to Plat it you should reconsider gaming as a hobby; Sound Shapes is on all three consoles and had three separate trophy lists despite you only needing to buy the game (and laughably easy DLC) once; Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA ƒ if you like rhythm action games and J-Pop; the Sherlock Holmes games, particularly Testament; the two PS4 inFAMOUS titles are very easy Plats; and Murdered: Soul Suspect is an underrated, short and fun game too. There's a selection for you. Is it obvious I'm a trophy whore?

Gotta admit I found the GTA V trophies easy. The only real slog was the nuclear waste one as my word that was boring. Especially when the game, for some reason, didn't acknowledge I'd picked up one of the thirty and had to go round the map again in a machine slower than walking pace. Besides that though everything else just fell into place naturally and without putting any real work into it. Level 100 online was a bit annoying as after I hit level 90 I was ready to stop playing but as it was all I had left to do I stuck at it.

If you want some really annoying trophies then get yourself on GTA 4 online as that's from a time when developers where still thinking they were a fad and just tagged them on. Borderlands 2 has one of the worst as well - find Jimmy Jenkins. He's a little blue robot that could pop out of anywhere at all but his drop rate is so pathetically rare many people who got the game at launch - two and a half years ago - still haven't found him. Really not looking forward to finding him again on PS4 now we know The Handsome Collection has separate trophy lists. Buying it for the Pre-Sequel and its DLC but now I can Plat Borderlands 2 (my second favourite PS3 game) again I know I will. Probably try and make that my 100th Plat, on 92 as of last night.

Red Dead Redemption's DLC has a pain in the hole trophy too and is the only one I need to 100% my favourite PS3 game. You have to play a six man (all real players, not computer-controlled) poker game then beat the table when hands are at maximum. Basically you have to hope no-one wins for a whole half hour (so hands are at the highest) then win. No chance, especially when you don't understand poker, like myself. I've even found a way around it - you have to have six people at the start but four can leave straight away. That would mean you could do it with a friend, talk to them for the half hour, then they'd let you win (or vice versa). But that requires finding four people online who'd leave, which never happens. Accepted I'll never get it now, which is extremely annoying. Oh well.

The Order is good for trophies. Can be Platinumed in less than eight hours, no bronzes and not a single trophy is anything more than a 1/10 difficulty. It's quite laughable actually, think they did it that way to ensure trophy whores bought it. One, a gold I think, is kill forty people with a rocket launcher. Now, you'd obviously think 'that weapon, and the ammo, must be rare.' Nope. On just one level you get it and the game forces you to have it and you can't leave the area til everyone is dead. How many people is everyone? That would be forty.

I completed tlou on ps3 and I got 1 trophy I think, I assumed it was a glitch, maybe not.

Good amount of The Last of Us trophies have to do with collectables.

I will add and say Lego Marvel is great for a Plat just one thing though if you are going trophy hunting on Lego Marvel do It on one player. For some reason if you play it on two players ever trophy the second player does, the first player gets the credit. Not sure if it's a bug or what.

Towerfall, 20000 versus matches.. I've played for 40-50 hours and not even close :/

I think you'll have an easy time bagging them on type 0, I've already got 55% and not really trying. I'll probably go for platinum on this though.

I've only platinumed 2 other games, Walking Dead (thats a given) and Transistor which was a bit more complicated

All your rarest trophies are from Towerfall! Rarest one is actually "Rapture: Complete Ascension in Quest mode"

Mine is from Spelunky "Ironman: Complete the game without using shortcuts."

Though, to be fair, the rareness of trophies from both those games is inflated as they're PS Plus games, so lots of people DL, play it once and never really get into it. Like I did with Towerfall...

My rarest non-Plus trophy is from Killzone: Shadowfall "Assault: Max out any upgradable Assault ability"

@themcnoisy I think your "Geminiphobia: Beat the game… twice" for Rogue Legacy is pretty ridiculous to be fair. I'm never getting that one.

beating the neo bosses is the worst though. Beating it twice is doable as long as you fit in 2x enemy downgrade runes, rather than syphoning or flight, which are both unnecessary. The new game plus 2 mode though

Yeah I think a lot of people tried it once and never played it again because of PS+! I got it at launch and played the hell out of it with my old housemate, I was pretty damn good!

How about the one where you have to beat the game within a certain amount of descendants without using the architect?

I was reading about RLegacy trophies and that prompted me to go and check out how many descendants I had. Turns out it was more than 40 at the time. I love that bloody game though.

If you want easy trophies and platinums then play Sly 1&2 on the Sly collection. They are the only two games I've platinumed, and I did both without meaning to. You don't even have to 100% Sly 1 to get the platinum it...

And not just that, but get all the collectibles in their category. I really hate those trophies were even if you are missing one object you will not get it.

For me the most ridiculous trophy must be the one on MK9 where you have to play with each character for 24 hours. What a waste of time.

Dynasty warriors 6 - get all warriors to level 50. Terrible. The worst achievement/trophy for me was in forza 4 - collect all Ferraris in the garage. They were all so expensive without paying with real world cash you wont get it. I also dislike hidden trophies - why are they hidden??

Kind of agree, with story missions that's fine. I meant the ones that have no reason to be hidden, off the top of my noggin there's a few in driveclub for no reason at all.
