Congrats on another in short order @johncalmc

Platinum #94 - Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor - so I originally played this back in 2014… had to start it again as I had no save for some reason but didn’t take too long to get back to where I was and finish off the plat. Having gone back to this after plat’n Middle Earth: Shadow of War last year, I was surprised by how much better the sequel actually was.

@colonelkilgore Another one, they need to create a trophy about platinum at this rate 😂. Congrats thou, good work.

On a side note, haven’t managed to play much Sekiro but I have got to Lady Butterfly. I lasted longer than I thought, managed to get just above half way down her health bar but I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything in this game 😅

@colonelkilgore congrats on another plat mate, at the rate your going Ragnarok might be your 200th instead 🤣.

Got the plat for Tales of Arise, the dreaded fishing trophy was the last and to be honest wasn't as bad as I thought, took about 2 hours in all for that trophy. My playthrough for the plat was 63 hours, and I completed the game at 51 hours so about 12 hours for end game content and trophy clean up, as far as jrpgs go it is a very friendly and easily achievable plat.

Really enjoyed the game and it was almost flawless on the ps5, looking forward to the next one.

@ThereThere @render @MaulTsir Cheers guys

@ThereThere yeah the nemesis system is the main selling point of the two games if I’m honest… there are some trophies that require you to really manipulate the nemesis system too, which are quite cool. The games themselves are a bit like the latest Assassins Creed games but with the free-flow combat of Arkham. If you’re a fan of the books/movies, I’d definitely give them a go for sure.

And @render… yeah Sekiro is a different animal to be fair. You will beat her eventually… but then the next boss… and the next 😅

@MaulTsir congrats on the Tales of Arise plat mate, I’ve heard it’s a great game… looking forward to starting it myself.

@colonelkilgore yeah it's a good solid game, it's as tropey as a jrpg can be but I really enjoyed my time with it.

@render Sekiro is awesome, but so gruelling.

IMO, and this may be controversial, I feel this is FromSoftware's 'Magnum Opus' game.... such a tight and atmospheric experience.

It would be nice to have a Mimic Tear for Lady B! Wait until you beat her, the satisfaction level is on par with Returnal

Congrats to everyone getting all those shiny plays going so fast its hard to keep up haha. Just got nr 4 myself Spiderman. Amazing game, just the last trophy was a pain. Had to get silver on a bomb challenge and somehow I suck at that, but I kept trying and a few hour later I managed to finally get is. Now to go do some dlc content

@MaulTsir Congrats on your Tales of Arise platinum, that's a reasonable number of hours to put into a jrpg 👍

@CJD87 I'm really enjoying it so far. I can see why it's such a challenge compared to FromSofts other games with having no levelling so to speak of. Unlocking the skills make it a bit more manageable but even so it feels like you can't really hit those bosses / mini bosses too hard and just have to be patient. I can definitely see that beating game is going to be like beating Returnal 😅

@RogerRoger thanks m8! .
About the order 1886 I was actually surprised that one isn't included in the new ps plus tiers. It's on my wishlist for a while after hearing great thing about it, but held off buying it since I was expecting it to come to plus one day.

@render @RogerRoger @sorteddan thanks all!

Just a quick one how is the plat for Demon Soul's? I've checked on psnprofile and they have it down as 2 playthroughs but a few people online have told me it's 3?

@RogerRoger @Lavalera This is actually a game I missed but have always been keen to play, it looks right up my street, I believe the biggest let down it had when it was released was it is a very short game? But if it ever came to the service I would definitely give it a go because I've seen snippets of game play over the years and it looks right up my street

@Lavalera @MaulTsir @RogerRoger I’m still yet to play The Order 1886 myself. I actually installed it once but ended up playing something else, I can’t remember what. Maybe I should save it for platinum #1886… or at least #186 maybe 😅

@MaulTsir I took a break from the game so haven't got it yet but after 1.5 play throughs with the trophies that I've got left to collect I think I should be able to do it with the remainder of this play through. I think it's really just making sure that you can buy all the spells and miracles in that second play through and you should be good.

render

Th3solution

@MaulTsir Yeah, if memory serves, you can get the plat in 2, or even 1.5 playthroughs, like @render says.
Having recently played the game, I can tell you I did a moderately thorough playthrough and ended with 50% trophy completion. I’m missing several trophies that I could have done on the first run but just didn’t have the patience or skill. Those include trophies for beating some bosses in a certain way, and collecting all the rings. There is also a trophy that relies upon a side quest which has a relatively complex layout to get the final result. It involves some playing through scenarios in black world tendency which I avoided like the plague. It probably would take a guide to get you through that side quest.
But even with a guide, it’s not possible to obtain all the spells and all the miracles in one playthrough because it’s and ‘either/or’ situation when you buy one of them then you’re locked out of the other one, if you know what I mean. So you have to do a playthrough emphasizing the spells and a separate one emphasizing faith.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

@render @Th3solution thanks for the heads up, I'll see how I fair with my first playthrough before deciding whether to put my self through it all again 🤣 my ocd Will probably get the better of me though and I will want to see every little thing to feel I've fully got everything out of it lol.

@RogerRoger I've heard the game its self is really good and knowing the plat is "quite easy" makes me feel even more inclined to play it 🤣

@colonelkilgore you'll be at 1886 by Christmas at this rate so I wouldn't count it out 🤣

@MaulTsir I played through DeS, and got the platinum, in advance of Elden Ring dropping... as I want to have some 'Souls Credentials' to my name!

I used this guide for the platinum: https://psnprofiles.com/guide/11279-demons-souls-full-trophy-...

I can be done in 1.5 playthroughs, provided you utilise save scumming (which the guide helpfully points out when and where to do so)

If you are shooting for the platinum, and want to achieve in less than 50 hrs, my advise would be this - follow that guide from Day 1!

Some of the trophies and questlines are typically obtuse (as you'd expect from FS) and you can easily get locked out of certain achievements without realising... prompting additional playthrough/s.

1.5 playthroughs was plenty for me, and more than enough to keep me full from this game!

The DeS platinum really makes you appreciate how much more forgiving and palatable the ER platinum is...

All builds are viable, but magic is probably the best to choose for an 'easier' time. I ran DEX, using katanas and bows, which actually worked very well - especially in late game / NG+

Good luck!
