I didn't 'find my feet' until about 20 hours in, it maybe would have helped if I'd played the previous games just for a bit of background knowledge of the general world.
I can actually relate to that. I love these kind of games, give me something to explore and I'll be quite happy. But I never linger that much. I finished the last story quest yesterday on my first playthrough. 176 hours in total, and I still have some stuff left to do.
Bloody hell! At times it felt a bit overwhelming, I really struggled to continue playing but the game is amazing! They really achieved a lot, but I feel that it has reached a point where something else is missing. Maybe more relevant content, denser populated worlds that keep you interested and provide context or background. Not really sure, but I feel that as games grow bigger, it becomes more and more apparent that people do get sidetracked and lose interest, which is sad, because I personally do not feel like there was anything in DA:I that wasn't relevant to the story-telling, or to the development of characters.
I'll take a break with the Order now, word is that it's quite not so grandiose in terms of time spent on it. HA
But I'll be sure to return to DA:I to 100% the areas, collectibles and all, might be running it in tandem with some backlog indies in my library.
I would be much farther along in this game if I could decide on a single character and not keep creating new save files to try out all the different classes and abilities. I like that there is a lot of content though and much of it is actually really interesting and not just added "fluff" to make the game seem longer.
176 hours - flipping heck. That's longer than a whole week without sleep playing none stop. Hats off to you mate.

Well I just picked up this game yesterday (I know I am slow) and I have to agree there is alot to do in this game. I can see where some people would be overwhelmed with this game if it was for my years of playing World of Warcraft, I would feel overwhelmed. But because of how much there is to do its why I am enjoying it. This game feels like it can be my WoW replacement. At this point though I am still new (maybe played it for 2 hours) so I can't really say. But so far I managed to spend the last hour just wondering around gathering ore and roots and actually enjoyed it.

@Tasuki: It's a great game and my friend and I played it at the same time but I put in 70 hours and he put in closer to 100. I never felt overwhelmed by it as it's broken up into world segments that you can explore fully without feeling the world is too big. My only gripe about the game is the ending...other than that it's up there with one of my favourite games.

Unsure how this thread made a comeback - but as its been brought back, what's better Witcher 3 or Dragon Age?

I'd agree with Forrester, The Witcher is a far better game in my opinion. DA:I is good but gets really repetitive near the end I thought. Witcher is amazeballs
@Tasuki: I completed pretty much everything in Dragon Age, I'd say you can probably complete it quicker than Witcher 3, some of the maps are pretty small and you don't spend hours swimming or bloody sailing
@themcnoisy: @Hego: @kyleforrester87: dragon Age is better, it just offers so much more, I'd obviously recommend both and I'd also recommend playing DA first, the only thing missing from DA is ploughing in Public Houses and Gwent. The Witcher 3 DLC content is though far superior from what I've heard, the DA DLC sounds a little meh.
So started Dragon Age Inquisition today enjoying it and the story. I am just a couple of hours in and I am getting wrecked when I am trying to do some of the rifts. I thought I would liberate some of the camps first and then do some rifts. I have not progressed hardly any of the main story. Do I need to be progressing more of the main story before tryng the rifts?
I liked DA Inquisition but The Witcher 3 is on another level. It's a shame because BioWare used to be the masters of storytelling and lore in their games.
