@PegasusActual93 You might still enjoy Like a Dragon as it has a different combat system, mostly new locations, and I think having a crew with you made it feel much more interesting than the other games.
@Thrillho
Not a fan of turn based RPGs. The only turn based RPG series I have ever played through is the Persona series and that was because of the story, atmosphere and lower difficulty modes made it a much easier pill to swallow. I prefer either fast paced action games that are light on plot or "cinematic" games.

Was in a mood to play a shooter and a horror game, so I decided to start playing Doom 3, which is a mix of both. So far it's great, it's exceeded my expectations. I didn't think it was actually going to be a scary experience but it is rather frightening. Great tense atmosphere with jump scares here and there. It's such a different experience compared to Doom 1, 2 and 64, and I like it. Looking forward to playing more of it.
@colonelkilgore thanks for letting us know abut your experience with God of War 3. Because of your testimony I'm now also a bit tempted to try the game later this year.
@oliverp no worries buddy, yeah I finished it last night and really enjoyed it. I would definitely suggest people who are interested play at least God of War and God of War 2 first as it really does contribute to the various pay-offs in GoW3.
Resumed my playthrough of Team Sonic Racing today. I was honestly not planning on doing it anytime soon but after entering into a racing phase a while back, I've been craving more racing games now than usually. So I figured why not continue playing this game and try to finish it up.
I'm about to wrap up chapter 4 of story mode and apparently there are seven chapters so I'm more than halfway through the story now. I'm enjoying the game a lot, but I think it's fair to say that some objectives to gain stars in the races are kinda unfair. For example, ones that depend on your teammates. I literally have no control over how the CPUs will perform so it feels like I have to leave it to chance in terms of how we'll collectively fare in the race.
Other than that, I do like the theme of working as a team. It makes races more engaging rather than just focusing on clearing them by getting first place.
@RogerRoger Thanks for the tip, I actually realised this too as I was playing. I kept giving away my items as I never seemed to need them while in first place.
I don't think the game is particularly difficult and you do get plenty of stars so that you can progress through the campaign. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the end of the story without much problem.
Still plodding away through Divinity: Original Sin
Plodding being the definitive word here as I am, narratively, finding it a bit of a slog to be honest.
Whilst Original Sin II also had some slower points (Act 3 was a bit of a lull at the start from what I recall) I always had the interesting characters, the mystery of the main plot, my companions and their questlines to fall back on.
And I really don't have that in OS I. At least I'm definitely not feeling it the way I was with OS II or even Pathfinder: Kingmaker (And that's quite possibly the buggiest game/port I've ever played).
Still gonna go through it as the combat is still fun and I'm over two thirds of the way through I think at Lvl 15...

@ThereThere
I really wanted to love Fallout 4 but the constant 'your base is being attacked messages and having to defend companions by upgrading safe houses really took away any enjoyment of the open world exploration that I had enjoyed from previous games. To such an extent that I never finished it. I have occasionally thought of going back and just ignoring that side of the game and letting them all just die but have never gotten around to it.
Hope it works out better for you!

I am currently play Odin Sphere back and forth between the Vita and PS4 version. Just got Burnout Paradise so been on that a bit. I am also finishing up the final touches for the Platinum for I am Setsuna.
*Days gone. Finally.. Althought I had in mind to "save" the game for later so I might end up taking a break and come back to it later in a month or two.
@oliverp it’s a big old game (not a bad thing imho), so it might be a decent idea to play a chunk of it for a week or two, play something else for a while and then come back to it late to finish it up.
@colonelkilgore Yeah thanks for the *advice Might fit in a title like God of War 3 in between then (which you know you I have promised to play).
*Have btw recently done certain “adjustments' to my backlog (which feels like a continuous work in itself btw). Days Gone feels otherwise like a very good game to me.
@HallowMoonshadow I sympathise with your point. It's never nice to wind up "plodding" through a game out of obligation, so I'm glad the combat is pulling you through in spite of the lacklustre story. At least you're over the halfway point; here's hoping things pick up towards the end!
Ahh thanks Rog... but two thirds of the way through of a story driven CRPG which is 100 or so hours long still means about 30 or so hours of game to wade through...
It has picked up a little though thankfully with an incredibly ruthless side villain I'm having to deal with at the moment (who's honestly more threatening then the actual villain).
It's mind boggling though how much of a gulf I feel between this and Original Sin II which I was raving about how good of a time it was two years back.

Finally finished with NieR: Automata for the PS4. I had a total blast with it. 9/10 Don't hope for any concise explanation about the story out of me though. My poor brain cells are still coping with the whole shenanigans of the last ten hours of gameplay
Still cracking on with Bloodborne - and loving every minute of it. Over the weekend I took down Vicar Amelia, and also the Blood-Starved Beast (not sure I did them in the right order though?!)
Post BSB, I found a new area to explore and (predictably) managed to get killed down in the streets of Old Yharnam. However, instead of spawning back at the nearest lantern... it looks like I've been whisked away to some form of prison/'gael'? Looks like maybe I'm just the latest victim of FromSoft trolling...lol
It is a really cool game, and I'm starting to appreciate more how it balances its obvious linearity with quite a wealth of player choice & agency. As I said earlier, I'm not sure if I beat VA / BSB in the 'correct' order but feel I could have potentially done this either way around?
I would say that the game and bosses do so far feel a bit on the easier side, especially vs Sekiro, but maybe this is also because I'm better versed now with this genre than I was a year ago.
Either way though, I'm really enjoying it. It excites me to consider what FS will bring out next, and I definitely wouldn't be against a sequel to either BB or Sekiro
@CJD87 I loved that part in Bloodborne when you get snatched and put in prison. It was really confusing at first but just found the whole setup a bit of a mind F. Love it.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
