@WanderingBullet: As great as it is, I'd say if MGS is a priority game for you then you're better off waiting before you get The Witcher 3. I got it a month ago now, and have still hardly made a dent in it (don't think I'm even a third of the way through the main story yet)! If you know MGS V is going to eat up most of your time on release, might as well wait until you're finishing that up and then pick The Witcher up on the cheap

@SteveButler2210: Thanks. Yeah, I've read that The Witcher 3 has over 100 hours of gameplay. Not sure if I'll try to platinum it but if I do my main issue is that it has missable trophies. I don't like it when developers include missable trophies in lengthy games since it kinda forces me to use guides right from the start.

@WanderingBullet: Leave it for a second play through if you really feel a burning desire to plat it. Forcing yourself to play a certain way on your first playthrough would totally take the magic out of a game like The Witcher! I'd say start it off on normal difficulty, because that way you know you're not getting the plat on that run either way, and immediately all the trophy worries melt away and you can focus on just enjoying it for what it is I do get where you're coming from because I do sometimes let trophies influence the way I play, but I strongly feel this is one game where you're better off not doing that.

Just got the platinum for Murdered: Soul Suspect (took me about 6 hours and 30 minutes). I picked this up for $7.80 on last week's PSN US flash sale. Definitely worth the price for the game and easy platinum. All you have to do is play through the story and collect a bunch of collectibles which are SUPER easy to get and find with a guide. This game did not deserve the terrible review scores it got. The gameplay is not something to brag about, but the story and atmosphere is actually very well done compared to a ton of games nowadays. If you want a good crime story with horror and spiritual elements AND want a quick, fun, and easy plat, get this game.

@Doctor_BK: Been meaning to look into this for a while, might pick it up next time it's on sale in the UK, thanks for the recommendation

I will be getting the plat for Resistance: Retribution later, assuming I can actually find a MP game to net me the final trophy. Spent 10 minutes waiting for a 4 player match the other night, and in that time not a single other person joined the lobby! Quite frankly I'm amazed they've bothered to keep the servers up...

@SteveButler2210: Yeah! You're welcome. Definitely check it out if it is on sale. You won't be disappointed, especially if you invest a little effort into getting the platinum.

@Splat: congrats!

Just polished off the Guacamelee plat last night - what a great game!! This one's been on the back burner since last year when I started my very first run on hard and got stuck.

This time round I did a normal playthrough first for all the other trophies and finished it up with a hard speed run. 3:45 in the end, which I was well chuffed with!

Recommend doing it that way to anyone who wants to get it, as hard mode is much easier once you've played through once and know what you're doing!!

@BlaBlaBla: I also enjoyed Hearts R on my Vita. I played about 80% of it on my Vita TV which was great to use with a normal DS3. I never got a lot of trophies in it most because I can't be bothered most of the time.

The last Platinum I got was for the DLC in Skyrim a few months ago. I got the original Platinum in Skyrim a few years ago, but with the DLC, they added really annoying werewolf and vampire trophies that I lamented needing to get. It was just a flat out grind to receive them, repetitive and boring. Especially the one to master the vampire side of things where you need to keep casting the Drain Health spell inherent to the vampire. It was a really slow way to kill things, and missed when aimed half the time. I wish developers were a slight more thoughtful when coming up with trophies to earn, which is why I ignore them over 90% of the time.

Finally got the Bloodborne platinum, following up on my Dark Souls II platinum about two weeks before! Now all I've got left is Demon's Souls, and it's mostly done, but that Pure Bladestone trophy...ugh. I don't know if I have the patience.

Some of those Bloodborne chalice dungeons were murderous, in any case, particularly the defiled one. I really liked what they added to the game though! It went from Gothic horror to cosmic horror and then finished up as a boss rush, which was pretty bizarre, but I enjoyed the opportunity to fight some spectacular bosses deep beneath Yharnam! Except Amygdala. Man I hate that thing.

@Unashamed_116: man I really want to polish mine off before the DLC comes out in November. I was up to the defiled chalice dungeon, and had taken a break to grind some levels as the Keeper of the Old Lords there had me a couple times. The main thing stopping me going back (other than time) is knowing that at the end of that dungeon I have to fight Amygdala with 50% health...

@SteveButler2210: Yeah, the Keeper is a nightmare in the defiled chalice dungeon...something that fast that can one-shot you with a combo is very frustrating. Anyway, if you need a hand with some of the bosses, let me know! I'd be happy to help when I can!

Unashamed_116

SteveButler2210

@Unashamed_116: cheers buddy, from memory I had found a tactic that was working pretty well (interrupting the flame blade animation with the gun to delay entry into the final phase and pounding it with lightning paper applied) and nearly had it a couple of times. Up until now I've been soloing everything, but if I go back and I'm still struggling I might take you up on that!

I just lent the game to my stepdad a couple weeks ago though, so I'll probably not be going back to it until early November.

Uncharted 1 for platinum #7. Crushing was not as hard as I was expecting.

Plan on doing Uncharted 2 for my next one. Trying to get 1-3 done before U4 comes out.

I eventually got the Pirate Warriors 3 plat. The grinding towards the end was pretty brutal. It's all about levelling up all crew members, everything else just happens along the way to that eventually goal
