@Thrillho yeah, me too! I saw a summon sign for "let me solo her" and ignored it as I don't need to stand back and let someone do it for me!! Someone with a bleed build with my magic build with bleed did the trick!
@Th3solution ooft if you've played bloodborne the performance is sooo much better than that!!! I'm looking forward to hfw, really enjoyed the first game and got it for my bday earlier in the year but its going to have to wait a few months as I don't have another huge rpg in me for a while! Elden ring is epic though, if you enjoyed bloodborne and demon souls remake, decent chance this will really hit for you.
@R1spam I’m pretty excited to try ER. I do have Dark Souls 3 sitting on the shelf in the backlog. Picked up the Fire Fades edition a while ago on the cheap, so I might have to play it first simply because I have it. But I’ve been known to impulse buy from time to time and ignore games I already own 😅. As character flaws go, I guess I could have it worse.

@Th3solution DS3 is a really good game, there are some levels that are really solid (cathedral of the deep and irithyl valley really stands out) and there are some great bosses (dancer of the boreal Valley, pontiff sulyvhan and nameless King are s tier for me). However, playing lots of souls games feels like reading lots of books by the same author. You start to see where background research, style and structure are reused and repurposed. As good as ds3 is, I'd almost be tempted to say just skip it and play elden ring. I definitely don't think I could go back to the more traditional linear style having played the open world version. Interested to hear others thoughts on that though and never played the dlc for ds3, which is meant to be great and on the version you have 👍
@R1spam Yeah, that’s a pervasive dilemma with some series — whether to jump ahead to the more modernized and improved game, knowing going back will be hard, or play in a relative release order so as to be able to enjoy each entry better.
Of course each game has its fans, and I’ve seen a few (not many though) people say that they prefer the older style Dark Souls layout better than the ER open world.
Given my limited gaming time, I could see myself jumping straight to the more highly praised and popular ER if I wait too long. We’ll see.

@Thrillho Lol, careful now. The ire of the FromSoft fans might rain down upon you. 😂
Having only played the two From games (BB and DeS), I didn’t feel like they were too samey. But the 3 DS games definitely seem pretty closely iterated from one another. 😬

@Th3solution@Thrillho it's pretty much heresy but I gave up playing the dark souls remaster having played ds3 first because of how similar I felt they were 😬
There’s no problem with them using a similar formula for different games. Obviously DeS to DS3 are quite similar but Bloodborne and Elden Ring use the mechanics in new and interesting ways (I never played Sekiro).
I thought ER was amazing for the world it created but I did feel some relief when the game went a bit more linear in places. The story is still nonsense though really
I've been busy for the last few months with a new job and stuff, and I've almost been a bit of a lurker on Push Square. However, I've finally finished Elden Ring. It's over. Platinum and everything. I've explored everywhere, every cave, every catacomb, I've even started NG+ with only spiked fists and no armour, just for the hell of it. What a game.
Actually I finished it last week. I've moved on to Salt and Sacrifice now. It's not as bad as people are making out, in my opinion. But anyway yeah, Elden Ring = good.
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108 Well done on achieving that platinum. It seems oddly obtainable for a souls game that I'm still expecting From to turn around and tell us all that it was a fake and that in order to get the real platinum we need to do a no hit run of the entire game!
@Gremio108 nice work!! I feel like I'm inching along to the platinum too, just got the last weapon for all Armaments trophy last night but it didn't pop, I'm very confused!!
@Gremio108 Congrats! I’d seen you plodding along with it on my friends list. How long did such a completionist run take? I was going for the similar but gave up on some catacombs etc towards the end.
@render The plat rate for the game is amazingly high. I think just above 10% when I last looked which is higher than lots of games I think have simpler trophies.
@Thrillho That's amazingly high, which I suppose is to be expected with those trophy requirements. I'm not going to complain though but did expect to work a lot harder for it.
@render Thanks! Being the FromSoft b*tch that I am, I would probably complete said run.
@R1spam Cheers! The exact same thing happened to my mate. Try putting them into storage and pulling them out again, like @Kairu says.
@Thrillho Just shy of 200 hours. I've been playing pretty much nothing else since release. I must admit I was tiring of the caves, catacombs etc by the end, but there was some tasty loot so I'm glad I stuck with it.
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
