@velio84 It's great watching those back and looking at the different lines we were all using.
It would be great to get up to the level of you guys at the front as then the racing will be more exciting. I think I'm going to hit those circuit experiences a bit more to improve that side of my driving. I'm probably going in way to hot into a lot of corners and then having to sacrifice exit speed so losing out down the entire straight.
@Abarth_71 I had a tinker with the GT planet guys tune on my McLaren GR3 and it feels like a different car. It's a little more twitchy but now it goes like a rocket ship.
I've had a read around about BoP and it's pretty much what we were saying last night about it being broken. It basically hands specific cars the advantage e.g. Peugeot RCZ because they don't get penalised and handle exactly the same after BoP is applied. To make the racing close we'd then all have to race the same car, which I don't know, might work depending on if we can all agree on one.
I know we said that working to a specific PP was a pain but that's the other option as then you can decide yourself how you want the car to handle and essentially what sacrifices you want to make to get it down to that PP. We can always do a few back to back races where we try one with BoP and one with a PP limit to see which one works out best?
I love SPA and Suzuka so happy to race there. I've definitely got Suzuka unlocked but will check to see if I've got SPA and if not I'll work on unlocking that this weekend.
@Kairu Sounds like a good place to start. We can always tweak the required PP as we go if we decide that it's not working out or it's difficult to meet with specific cars. We'll then have to decide if we want to allow this... 🤣
@velio84 Good call on keeping it to 2 tracks, especially if they are ones that we haven't used a lot
@velio84 high revs. To be honest I haven't a clue what I'm doing with the tuning side of it. Sounds like you've improved your time a lot since earlier and still more to gain.
I know somebody who is really into cars, but he's heard some concerning things. How are the microtransactions? Can you enjoy the game and drive the "cool cars" without microtransactions or grinding for currency?
@velio84 it's really impressive the time you and abarth are shaving off your laps.
I'll have a read of that website and get a better understanding of tuning ready for more fights at the back of the grid.
It's at the risk of this game consuming everything though and not playing anything else! 150 laps for a setup on a track that's already been raced on is dedication
@MatthewJP@velio84 Those are some amazing times. I’ve not had a chance to revisit that track yet as I spent my time yesterday getting far enough into the cafe to unlock Spa. Looking forward to trying it in anger now with a group car.
Perhaps it would be good to carry over one track into the next week so that we can see if we can improve, so we do one new track and the same? Doesn’t matter for this week but just a thought.
@Kairu Hi bro. Sorry haven't been on the Playstation for an age. I will play GT but I only have a few cars and hardly any in the top tiers. Maybe a bunch in the 4th tier and I bought a Jag which is a 3rd tier. Let me know anyway!

I was doing a sport race at red bull ring last night and the porsche in front of me on the grid was all green with massive letters on the back 'f**k greta'. Dunno why but it made me chuckle. Race started and i didn't realise my dualsense had turned off, went from 3rd to 12th by the first corner
I’m up for reverse grids like @Abarth_71 suggested. I mean I’ll still really unlikely to finish ahead of you guys but it will at least mean I’m in the mix for a bit 😀
What do you think regarding PP limits? I’ve done a few of the GT races and they have been something like 650 for GT4 and 730 for GT3.
@velio84 Nice, I’d like to jump on that myself but don’t think I’ll have the time. It does look like a ridiculous car though.
@Kairu I went ahead and bought that BRZ this morning and gave it a try out on deep forest and it was pretty damn quick. Even without any tuning I beat my best time that I set in the McLaren or Honda. It definitely needs the gearing changing for that circuit as I'd run out of gears way to early up the long straight through the tunnel but still managed to reach 185 mph.
Did we decide on some hard limits with regards to PP and BHP for tomorrow night?
Having had a play around at lunch I'm thinking that 750pp is a better number too. I had a go at a few of the GT races on the world circuit, one of which is at Spa, and those are restricted to 730.
I had to detune quite a bit to get down to that level, especially due to my car being maxed out with all the upgrades. I went with RH in order to take a good chunk out of it and then restricted on both the power and ECU side plus added ballast and even then it's a bit of a balancing act. I guess it's also going to be track specific due to potentially needing different downforce and top speed.
@velio84 I had a similar thing happen to me at Monza where someone was intentionally trying to take me out. It was quite annoying.
I haven't done any setup work for Tokyo yet or even raced the track much so going to try and do that later. Will also aim for 750PP and now that I've got 3 cars to choose from I'll decide which one I'm going to go into the race with.
A 55.8 was as good as I could do and that was in the McLaren. The Honda was way too tail happy around the fast corners and the BRZ I felt just wasn’t anywhere near as happy once it had been detuned.
