Cheers for the great races last night all. The PP limit definitely hit the mark as it ended with much closer racing. I like the fact that it opens things up on the technical side and means that we all come at it from a slightly different angle.
I'm wondering if we should also do a single make/model race at the next session just as an experiment? The setup doesn't have to be the same as it would still be nice to be able to tinker with that but perhaps with that race we could leave BoP and PP off and just do whatever we like on the upgrades / tuning side? We'd have to of course agree on a car so that will need some discussion but let me know what you think.
The BRZ is a great car so definitely worth picking up. I read a few posts that said the sports mode is full of them at the moment, which I guess I would expect for a new addition but also because it sounds like it doesn't do too badly with BoP applied.
I like the idea of the single manufacturer as well, that could work with a number of different ones like you say so perhaps we could choose a different one each week. That way we all get pushed into experiencing different cars rather than sticking with what we know.
"when are we racing the Shifter Kart 200 laps around the Nordschleife?" - let me just see if I can get a couple of weeks off work π
That first race at Tokyo with us all finishing within 7 seconds was very good. I think the walls acted like those barriers young kids have down the side of a bowling alley so the ball always stays in!
@velio84 That is interesting. I will endeavour to check that race out later to give a few different cars a go.
Nice work on the win as well. I've seen posts on various forums from people stating that it's quite difficult to win on Sport due to people trying to find loopholes in the PP system in order to get more performance from a set limit so to clinch another win is exceptionally good. While I'm not expecting to win anytime soon I will hope one day to get lucky like I did with the majority of my wins in online Wreckfest where I just had to hope that everyone else in the race was worse than me π
@velio84 Maybe there are some races done with BoP and some with PP limits. I've only done the Monza one last week, which was BoP, so perhaps they've switched to BoP for everything now if the PP limits were being exploited. I didn't know that about the qualifying, happy that's the case as it means we don't have to wait for the race time to start and can get into a race quicker.
I had a bit of time before work this morning so did the final race on my current cafe menu and it was the Nordschleife. I've got a lot of respect for anyone that can memorise all those corners! I also hadn't appreciated how narrow the track is which makes overtaking quite the challenge.
@JudgeDredd I'm with you there. I have a limit on the number of corners I can memorise and the Nordschleife has at least 10x that. Watching that video also shows how different the track is in that car where you can take a lot of things flat out compared to lesser cars.
I thought the handling on dirt tracks wasn't too bad but then I've only got Dirt 5 and Wreckfest to compare that to. I'd also rather have track/road courses though as that's what I expect from this game.
I got to licence test S-10 last night and spent an hour just sliding off the track. The most annoying moment I had was coming through the very last chicane, I must have been doing 20 - 30mph and I still didn't make the corner π
@MatthewJP I think we have tried to be better about it but then start trying 15 different cars and it quickly gets out of hand π
@nitram2k11 By the fact that I haven't been banned yet I'd say that that's acceptable, the more the merrier. Currently we are doing Sunday nights if that works for you?
