Hopefully everyone who's decided to give the challenge ago is ready to submit their times tomorrow. Have to say I'm looking forward to seeing how abysmal mine are compared to others 😅

Still waiting on a sale for gt7, starting to get impatient. I just know if I buy it full price and find I'm not super excited with it, I'll feel I wasted my money. Hopefully it will come down in price soon. Have some really fond memories. The most hilarious was GT3 I think with the Eskudo on a dirt rally track. After some garage adjusting, you would get super fast speed with no control. The race was basically banging from wall to wall around the track, but going so fast you would break records. Quite fun.

Thanks for all the great entries so far from everyone who's submitted them. I've got 8 at the moment and there's some interesting times here. I'll publish the full list in time order later tonight, say around 9pm BST, so there's still plenty of time to enter for anyone else that wishes to do so.

Anyone that lurks on this thread but hasn't taken part please give it a try. I've got no hope of winning this personally but had great fun doing it and it'll only take you 5 - 10 minutes. There's really no shame in giving it a go 😀

So here it is, the results of the inaugural Push Square Fastest Lap Challenge. Thanks everyone who took part for taking part, considering we'd not driven with this particular combination before everyone set pretty good times. So first the top 3...

Well done the top three there for some great times. You guys definitely maximised the limits of those tyres and brakes. Abarth_71 takes the top spot and with it he gets to feel smug until this time next week when it could all be very different.

Push Square GT7 Fastest Lap Challenge - week 2

Hey all, back with another midweek fastest lap challenge. Just to recap for anyone that didn't take part last week but basically each week I'll pick a different track and car combination - hopefully one that we've all got from playing the campaign or one that isn't too expensive from the used car or brand central dealers and we then see who out of all of us can set the fastest lap with it using the TT mode on the specific track. It's open to anyone from novice to seasoned players and is just a bit of fun with the only prize on offer being the feeling of smugness knowing that you've beaten your fellow Push Square forum members. So here are the deets:

Track: Willow Springs - Big Willow (that's right the one that looks like a whale)
Car: Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71
Settings: Default settings sheet (if you think you might have changed settings just create a new sheet)
Tyres: Comfort Medium
Time of day: 20:00
Method:

The idea is to go in blind, no practice using the track / car combo before hand and no restarting - this is going to rely on everyone being honest as there's really no way to police this. Any day Monday to Thursday this week go to World Circuits, select the track followed by Time Trial -

Select the specific time of day -

Select the car and tyres -

You've got 5 laps to put together a solid lap time. Once you've crossed the line on the 5th lap exit the time trial and take a screenshot of the times screen as per this example:

Upload the image to Twitter or another sharing service e.g. imgur.com and post the link here. Please try and leave it till Friday to post your screenshot so as not to influence other peoples times but I can appreciate that this won't always be possible e.g. going on holiday. I'll take a look at all the screenshots and pick the driver with the fastest lap and they will be awarded the prize of being a Smug G(i)T and be able to bask in the glory of their achievement for an entire week before we start all over again.

Please let me know if you are thinking of taking part as it'd be great to gage interest, otherwise your time starts now - good luck, I think this one is going to be tricky.

I got my laps in last night and it's actually harder than I anticipated. Still enjoyed it and it'll be interesting to see how big the gaps are this time round.
