Never really understood unboxings myself. It’s not like they turn it on and show it off, it’s like ok, the box contains the PS5, some wires and a controller. Brilliant, what’s next.
@nessisonett here is confirmation that the products we showed you are in fact, actually included in the box - and look at how we packaged it inside - woohoo...
I have never also cared about the box art either. I see it for about 5mins as I open up and take all the contents out before putting all the packaging and paperwork back inside and chucking the box into storage - never to be seen again until the console gets put away and then goes into storage in the box...
It could come in a plain brown cardboard box for all I care...

@nessisonett yeah don't get the appeal on unboxing videos either. To me that is part of the excitement of getting a new piece of tech. Watching a video of it takes away some of that. See also 'The first 30 minutes of...' videos.

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, these videos do kinda spoil the feeling of opening up stuff on Christmas Day. The exception is the guy who unboxes limited editions from the 90s and stuff, they’re always amazingly preserved and it’s not like we’d be able to get a copy ourselves.
In the latest DF video they said 'people are going to be surprised, there will be surprises' when the embargo ends. It's not about console comparisons. It looks like Sony (and probably Ms too) have kept a few things under wraps.
We ll see. Hopefully good surprises.

Might not be strictly PS5 related but this just can't go unnoticed. We've actually done serious damage to their reputation for once, and this has to affect their future games.

Puts a smile to my face. It's about time these companies stop getting away with these bad practices. Call of Duty Activision should go down in flames as well. Purchased a game full price but have to pay so much each season to unlock a battlepass which gives you better blueprints.
You should watch Mythic Quest on Apple TV, it's a mockup of the games industry about an MMO. And they show their money is made from non other but extra loot
@JJ2 I don't know that they have kept things 'under wraps' so much as undersold some aspects. Its clear that Sony have a different approach and whilst they may lack horse-power (comparatively), the Dualsense in combination with the Audio could be a leveller (or even a game changer). If you have the choice of something that technically is a superior visual quality (whether you can really see a big difference or not) or something that changes the 'feel' of playing a game, that can be a big reason to buy over the other.
Both have incredible Audio capability and neither has been really talked about. We all know the 'technical' side, although Sony did go deeper into their dedicated Audio processing than MS has, but as yet, no-one has really talked about how that's being used in games (if at all at the moment - although I expect Sonys AstroBot uses it).
I don't think that they have some 'secret' built into the hardware that they have yet to reveal - I think its more likely to be that they have not really 'sold' something and now that people are getting their hands on it, when they can talk about it, its going to be something special. I think its something that has to be experienced to fully appreciate it but something they had mentioned. Think you know how good the Audio is, well this is better because..., think you understand what Haptic feedback adds, well this is.... and it was a big surprise at how 'X' worked for this or 'Y' was used for that...
DF alluded to something special with the AstroBot game that they couldn't talk about so I assume it has to be with Audio and/or controller...

Ps5 doesnt 'lack horse-power' in anyway you try to frame it. Dont go into console wars mode plz. It's a waste of time and space here.
Its definitely a few unexpected 'surprises' not related to Astro. (That's from DF words. Not from me.)
