This is just the opinion of one Metro reader, although not everyone has to agree with the opinion that the PS5 is Sony's biggest enemy, not the Xbox although there are some truths in that article

@DevilMayCry There’s a lot of truth in that actually. It pretty eloquently illustrates Sony’s problems with communication and sums up a lot of my feelings. I’ll probably not get an Xbox but I’m certainly buying less games on Playstation these days.
@nessisonett There definitely is and it's unfortunate, but at the same time it boils down to the games and we are poised to have one of the best years in a long time if God of War Ragnarok doesn't get pushed out of 2022. That's really what matters in the end.

@lolwhatno I most had that feeling with The Last of Us 2. I'd played through that several weeks before it came out, and was just bursting to talk about it but obviously couldn't!
@Indoorhero Sounds like you should probably step away from the hobby for a while.
Anyway, you're not really out anything by buying a PS5. They're still hard to get, so you can still make back all of your money, or even ask a little extra (or a lot extra, if that decision rests easily on your conscience).

People can say whatever BS about Sony AnTiCoNsumEr Yadi yada (yeah they aren’t your friend duh that doesn’t mean they are your enemy) but their early review embargo and respect for retails discs consumers (i.e. the real PS5 disc with the PS5 game on it and not a freaking DRM to download the game) are facts that shouldn’t be ignored.
British papers are full of it anyway. After the Bungie news they were claiming Xbox users were throwing their consoles out the the window.
The crowd, accepting this immediately, assumed the anti-Eurasian posters and banners everywhere were the result of acts of sabotage by agents of Goldstein and ripped them from the walls.
@Indoorhero
I’m not talking about the first party price. For that matter you can get used games.
Check out 3rd party games on disc.

@Indoorhero in all honesty, the generational jumps will always seem less as diminishing returns kick in. I’ve been gaming since 8-bit… and the jumps from 8-bit to 16-bit, and particularly 16-bit to 32-bit will never be seen again. Since PS1 to PS2, the jump has produced results which appear far less drastic. I remember having the same discussion with a friend when the PS4 released. He was furious that the initial output didn’t look ‘that’ much better than PS3 games. And as this is the subsequent transition, the jump is even less noticeable.
All I’d say is, games that are produced mid to late in a console’s life cycle always look considerably better than those released in the first couple of years.
@Indoorhero fair enough mate, expectations can really mess with people. The same friend who was moaning about PS4 games looking like PS3 games 7 years ago, is making the exact same grumbles noe about PS4 to PS5. It is man’s greatest weakness to forget.
@lolwhatno I think the question got lost in the shuffle, but I’m pretty sure I saw several days ago that Liam is going to be the reviewer for Elden Ring. He said it in the context of him being a semi-casual fan of the genre, so it seems he’ll be a good objective critic, which is important. It’s probably a game that Souls fans will automatically give 10/10, and newcomers to the genre will automatically give a 1/10. 😂 So he’ll be impartial and neutral in his approach.
