Topic: Push Square meet and greet

Hows about arranging a meet and greet for all users of pushsquare? This is easily my go to site (as if you can't tell) and all the reviews, previews and news stories are easily the best written. Sammy and Robert are my favourite reviewers and I have read.

I also wouldn't mind meeting (in person) Wesker, Kyle, Bad Mutha, Scullirio, ADF, star-lord, Bamozzy, Jaz, Zed and of course Tasuki. Can we make it happen?

Don't see many people traveling in from overseas when we can hardly get a 6 man team together for a raid haha. Having said that I'm currently based in West London (currently the capital of the world, of course that'll change if and when I move ) so if peoples worlds happen to collide within the m25 I'm up for a few beers!

Note: I'll also be up Sheffield way at some point in the coming months, entirely flexible in terms of dates. Just need to visit an old friend at some point over the summer.

It's not a bad idea, just one that's hard to arrange. I can kinda see us having a "Push Square Expo", a once a year type of event, but I dunno if we're huge enough for that type of thing.

I dunno, I reckon we could easily fill one of those big tables in a Costa

This would be fun, but as seeing there is a giant ocean between us some of us, I don't think it could work. Not to mention there's a huge bit of land between some of us here in the states lol. A Push Square place at a gaming expo in Britain could work for a few of you best I think.

Another idea might be some kind of Skype meet up between some members of staff and forum posters, like a sort of video podcast type thing. Of course it will be tricky to set up and won't be a regular thing (maybe after an E3 or PSX) but it's something at least. What do you guys think?

For UK users, pretty much everyone from the team will be at EGX (Eurogamer Expo) this year. I don't think we're quite at Push Square Expo stages yet - but it's always good to dream big!

We do need to do more community stuff, though - even if it's just group gaming sessions. It's my failing that we haven't done more of this stuff properly, but... Time.

Maybe we have a dedicated member among our ranks who would like to lead that front and liase with me so we can get the information out properly?

Which Manchester uni are you trying to get into? I had a few friends that went to both of them.

"The University of Manchester" its pretty much my only option, for once the scholarships that my country gives its based on the QS ranking and its the best on my area (Social Sciences)

Im between there, NYU (USA) and Columbia (USA).

but football its pretty important and i would love to go to the Old Trafford lol

@get2sammyb " Maybe we have a dedicated member among our ranks who would like to lead that front and liase with me so we can get the information out properly? " Yep that's a cracking idea - and as Kyle pointed out above its hard to get groups together. Both DangerMouse KyleForrester would be a good bet for that as they always get involved in the online discussions.

Well if you guys are at the eurogamer expo then maybe it would be a good idea to go there. If not this year then next year.

I think we do eventually aim to build some kind of functionality into the site that will allow groups to get together, but it would be cool to have someone setting up gaming sessions and stuff. I'll put some more thought into this after E3.

I've de-railed this thread a bit now, haven't I? XD

It would be fun to see every one! But as @get2sammyb says, we need to start at digital community events. Heck, we NEED a damn calender, a list of games & dedicated days. If you need insperation head over to ps3trophies - they have a great system in place including Live Streaming!

Also, on a side note for us UK gamers (the best in the world of course) how many are staying up late for E3?!

DerMeister

@get2sammyb I'd like to say that a group feature for the site like you said would be great.

With gaming sessions, I personally haven't tried friending the other members because I don't have a PS4 yet, and I know a lot of people will want to play on that. That said, I wouldn't mind a sort of competition, like a weekly challenge or something like that. Might even use the PS4's recording feature for it as well.

As for real life stuff, I live in the US, so I'll have to fly out or something to meet most of you. I know the staff has a few US guys, so it'll be nice if the US members could have a meeting event if necessary. Well, if we get to that. I'm just spouting off ideas.

Yes I'll be watching all the conferences, except Microsoft and that PC one.
Yes I think different kind of digital events are the way to go, whether it be gaming sessions, challenges, discussion podcasts etc

It can be tough getting everyone gaming together. Does require quite a commitment from everybody. But it is pretty rewarding. I try and always be up for it and stick to my word by showing up when I say I will but I think once or twice life got in the way

More regular members is what'll make the difference in any events becoming regular and consistent.

Of course any kind of extra functionality built into the website would help too. Keep up the good work!
