Topic: Ridge Racer Vita

Great game, here's a thread to discuss it (I know its old) and the rest of the series.

Does anybody know how to unlock the extra courses, there's only 3 showing on the course select?

I've always been curious about this title (I never purchased it), it seems to have received very poor reviews, a lot of the criticism dealing with it's initial very high price for a lack of content (IE, the game was built around buying DLC)..............but I always wondered, if you just bought everything outright, would it be so bad - especially now that the prices are lowered? The graphics still look pretty nice.

Namco more or less wasted a good three-four years in the AAA space with these free-to-play and purchase a segment initiatives..........they only now seem to be coming back to the traditional retail space in the last year or two.

@sub12: I got it as part of a trade in deal, I think it was £10 or there abouts and I've had my moneys worth I suppose in this day and age. Strangely there's only 7 tunes - even Ridge Racer 1 had more than that! It does wear thin quicker than you can remember too, I swear Ive played the tracks in the base game before. RR type 4 is the better buy on vita, unfortunately that really shows its age these days, and stretched on the vita screen it looks a bit pants. So yes pick it up but you will get 3-5 hours of game which you can come back to from time to time to stretch that out.

Funnily I was thinking about your comments earlier today they had gunstar heroes and some neo geo stuff on a cabinet which broke shortly after playing it at egx.

I've always been tempted by this game. If Ridge Racer Ultimate Edition ever comes up in sale, I'll definitely bite.
