@Rudy_Manchego
Oh nice, the Rakuyo is a stylish weapon, always scary facing someone in pvp who has that.
Ludvigs Holy Blade, always a favourite, pretty devastating when it hits. The big slow weapons are tons of fun but yeah, they do leave you vulnerable.
@LieutenantFatman Yeah it is fun to use and looks really stylish. It is also pretty good on endurance though it is easy to miss people with it.
Holy Blade is largely my heavy hitter though I know some prefer the hunters axe or the big old hammer. It also has good length (ooer) so is handy for taking out heavies with a bit of distance for when i inevitably mess up the timings.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
For being seven years old (In seven days apparently) it does hold up fairly well.
I don't think it's a masterpiece (the Pittsburg chapter was a bit of a lull for me and it's use of jump cutting/time skipping made some of it's scenes not as impactful as they could've been to me personally) It's quite good though and as a whole I found it fairly engaging with some very good performances from it's leads of Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson.
... The Last Of Us 2 will be something I'll be playing sooner rather then later hopefully.

... It would be fairly good playing TLoU on a PS4 I suppose (Which has the DLC bundled in I'm sure).
Not sure if I can justify buying that or getting the DLC for ps3 though at the moment though @LN78
As for the whole ending sequence I can't say I particularly trusted the fireflies (Even If they did make a cure I don't believe they'd be so noble in sharing it or have the means to distribute it with everyone) and I pretty much side with Joel's actions during it.
For the finale I'd like to hope Ellie still trusts Joel even if she knows it's complete BS in what he's saying... I don't think that's the case though sadly
As for the storytelling...
I don't suppose you saw the review/impressions piece I wrote for Day's Gone a few weeks back?
I couldn't get invested in Deacon was the main source of my problems. Didn't like him as a protagonist and found him and his story incredibly uninteresting. I was more invested in the bike personally, especially after I put the nice Concrete Genie decal on it.
Thought the storytelling on a whole was rather trite as well.
TLoU towers over Days Gone quite easily for both characters and storytelling for me.
The gameplay (aside from a few pesky bugs) felt smoother though in DG and I really did enjoy traversal on the bike.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Glad you enjoyed it. I echo what others have said. In particular, as @LN78 points out, the ending is what really sealed it for me. Of course the end and the decisions made there only carry the heavy impact because of the great character and relationship development that has occurred for the 20 or so hours preceding. And you are at a little disadvantage playing now, as far as the story impact, because you knew Ellie and Joel are going to survive. When I was playing, there was a moment I thought Ellie would end up being sacrificed. Since the story conclusion was so effectual and satisfying to me personally, I’m not sure how I feel about playing the second game. It’s a game I didn’t think needed a sequel. I sort of want to just leave it in my mind and to my own imagination what happens to everyone after the events of the first game. Alas, the sequel is going to get loads of praise and 10/10’s so I think I’ll end up playing it eventually out of sheer curiosity.
I thought I was going to have to buy TLOU again before the release of the sequel but it turns out I did remember to add it to my library when it was a PS+ game.
Well that’s the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater 100% with Andrew Reynolds. I could try and get everything with every character... but I kinda can’t be bothered. Onto the second game, which adds manuals, thank the lord. The final competition in Roswell took ages to get a gold medal on, made worse by the fact you can’t instantly restart if you place 2nd or 3rd, you have to watch the credits.
That’s me just got the last bit of cash in The Bullring in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, bringing my total to 100%. Definitely a big improvement on the first game, although some of those notes are really hard to get to. Now I have a decision to make, do I play the PS1 version of THPS3 and 4 or move onto the PS2 versions? Not really sure but I’m absolutely tearing through the games so more content could be a good thing!
@JohnnyShoulder Honestly, my thumbs are all messed up since I prefer the D-Pad so they’ve hurt my hands more than Dark Souls ever did! Some of the jumps were really quite difficult as well, especially with that 2 minute timer ticking down, making me panic. Definitely harder than I remember.
@RogerRoger@JohnnyShoulder Yeah, Infamous is a good call if you don’t want to stray too far from the kind of games you been playing. I believe you have completed (and somewhat enjoyed) the first game a few months back, so you have Infamous 2, Festival of Blood, Second Son, and First Light.
If you want to get away from superheroey, open world action games, then maybe The Last Guardian. I think you bought that one didn’t you? It is very different thematically from what you’ve been playing.
Edit: haha, simultaneous posting strikes again. Sorry for the repetition 😄
@RogerRoger Dare you open up the Shenmue 2 can of worms? 😂
I was also considering whether you might like Gravity Rush 2. I fell off it after about 20 hours, but not because I didn’t like it. It’s a much bigger game than the first game. Might be worth looking at.
@KratosMD I've always played legendary difficulty in co-op and feel that's where it shines. Not sure I could manage it on my own though so well done! The Library is rather horrid on that difficulty but a rather nifty grenade jump allows half of it to be skipped.
@RogerRoger Not sure that's a particularly fair assessment of Halo. You reminded me of how at the time of release Killzone was hyped as Sony's "Halo killer", which was always odd because they play very differently. Unfortunately the first Killzone was and remains a stinking hot pile of cow dung. 😂 Halo is of course dated and very much a game of 2001 (predating Killzone by three years, a long time back then), but the core game is still decent to go through. It was also extremely important and influential within the console FPS space.
After over 15 years getting destroyed, I finally beat Tekken 1’s Arcade Mode for the first time. My reward was a 5 second cutscene of Kazuya chucking Heihachi off a cliff and smirking(?) with his horrific 3D model way too close to the camera. Worth it though, I’ve sunk too many hours attempting to understand the gameplay while the AI blatantly reads my inputs.
