@Tasuki Yep, but not all games are compatible. Metal Gear Solid requires pressure-sensitive buttons, Gran Turismo doesn’t work and Tiger Woods doesn’t from the games I own. Gutted about Tiger Woods tbh, really love that one but I would need to get a PS3 controller from somewhere.

It looks pretty legit to me. I'm going to get in touch with the seller because my conscience is prickling. I can only assume she thought this was one of the other (far less valuable) "Panzer Dragoon" games.

@Tasuki Most games do work with them. In fact, I was playing mine yesterday with my DualSense.

@LN78 Oh my god, that's such an amazing find. Probably the rarest thing you're likely to ever own.

If you're going to return it to the seller or something (can't imagine any other possible reason you'd contact them), you might want to play through it first. The likelihood of finding another copy of this game in the wild is next to zero.

I've seen Panzer Dragoon Saga going for $750+ or so at my local game store a few years ago. Looks like it's going for at least $1200 now according to price charting. Nice find. I had been thinking about getting a Saturn myself at some point until I found all games I was remotely interested in were way too expensive (like PDS).

PS4 and PS5 controllers do mostly work on PS3, but there are some minor issues. It looks like a very small number of games don't work with them, and they don't have pressure sensitive face buttons. I also seem to remember the triggers being treated like digital (instead of analogue) for some game. As long as the game doesn't need pressure sensitive buttons or triggers, you're probably good. One more minor issue is that the home button doesn't function, so you can't go to the home menu or turn off the PS3 with a PS4/5 controller. You can still boot up the PS3 with a PS4/5 controller though for some reason.

As for getting a Dualshock 3, I got one last year for about $20 on Ebay. Mine was an unusual situation though. I bought a broken DS3 to use for parts on a 3rd party controller (shell was cracked and trigger was missing, looked exactly like an official DS3). The seller said that their controller wouldn't turn on. When I got it, it was dead like the seller said, but it took a charge and stayed charged. It's now one of the 2 DS3s I use. I'm wondering if the seller didn't have the right cable or PS3 to charge it (DS3s won't charge from a phone charger, even with the right cable).

@HeavyMetalWario64DS That just reinforces my belief that the seller in this instance has made a mistake because even on the lower end that's significantly less than I paid for the console and the entire stack of games. Hopefully she'll get back to me today and we can work out a deal.

@RogerRoger "Lenny's 'Panzer Dragoon Saga' Saga". Turns out she just wasn't paying particular attention and (much like myself) thought that one "PD" game was much the same as another. We've worked out an amicable arrangement, though. I'm now the proud owner of "Panzer Dragoon Saga" and a clean conscience!

Just bought World End Syndrome on Switch for €6. The game is on sale on both PS4 and Switch right now but the Switch version is €4 cheaper in the sale and that was the primary reason why I bought it there. It looks like a very cozy summer visual novel even though it supposedly has horror elements. Still, it looks right up my alley as I love this kind of games. Might give it a go sooner rather than later as I've been craving a cozy visual novel for the summer.

So I've been in a mood lately to play something relaxing and considering I've barely dabbled in this genre, I decided to check out some life sim games. I ordered Rune Factory 4 Special on Switch for €30 as I've heard it's the best game in the series. I also bought Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns on 3DS since it was on sale for only €4. Never played either Rune Factory or Harvest Moon, so I figured I'd give these two a go. And while it's not a life sim game, I also got Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove on 3DS for €8 since I noticed it was on sale while I was browsing the eShop.

I also have Stardew Valley and Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles on my watchlist on Switch, which I'll get whenever they go on sale since I'm not in a rush to buy everything right now. But yeah, I've been really wanting to play some relaxing, mindless games now and so I'm excited to start exploring this genre a bit more.

@RogerRoger Will do! I used to love Animal Crossing back in the day but nowadays I find it to be lacking substance, so I'm completely skipping the Switch game. I'm hoping Rune Factory 4 will appeal to me since it's a mix between a life sim and a dungeon crawler, which sounds awesome. Never played The Sims personally as I'm not that interested in customising stuff. I'd rather avoid that as much as possible in games in general to be honest.

Been absolutely absorbed with Muramasa Rebirth on Vita that I wanted to get more Vita titles that I've completely missed out on. So I got Soul Sacrifice Delta and Tales of Hearts R on the Vita store for €30 each, which is much cheaper than buying physical copies (kinda regret not getting these games physically much earlier but oh well). I've heard so much good stuff about Soul Sacrifice but for some reason I never played it. And considering that I'm starting to like the Tales of series, and I've been wanting more JRPGs on Vita, Tales of Hearts R felt like a fitting title to get. Very much looking forward to playing both of these games.

Saw that a second-hand copy of Pokémon Legends: Arceus came in stock for "only" €43 so I decided to finally buy this game. Considering first-party titles on Switch never go down in price, this is as good as it's going to get. Probably won't play the game anytime soon as I don't want to get burned out on Pokémon before the new games come out later this year but now I at least have it.

I also bought Rabbids Go Home on Wii for €20. This is pretty much the last game I've really wanted to add to my Wii collection and now I can finally cross that off. So now I feel pretty much done with my Wii collection, which is nice.

@RogerRoger Thanks! Yeah that's just how it is with Nintendo. But at least I know that physical copies will never get cheaper than €40 so I won't have to experience any sunk costs if I buy these games today.

It only took me almost 15 years to be done with my Wii collection, lol. It's a weird feeling, and I don't think I'll ever "finish" any of my other console game collections because there are so many games I want to get for those systems. Considering the Wii rarely got the third-party titles that PS3/360 got, and that those that it did get I'd rather buy on PS3/360, it has overall much fewer games that I want to get. So it was easier to finish that collection.

I guess my Vita collection is close to being finished as well. It still has a good amount of games that I want to get but because it's so hard to find physical copies of them I doubt I'll finish it anytime soon or ever for that matter.

Do you have any console game collections that you're done with or feel close to being done with?

@RogerRoger I haven't really kept an active wishlist of Wii games as I've moved away from the system since a decade ago. It's been mostly impromptu purchases. The games that I've bought in recent times are ones that I wanted to buy over ten years ago but I never found a good opportunity to do so. And then I forgot about the Wii for years.

But then I started getting into retro collecting. And when I mean retro, I mean PS3/360/Wii, lol. It was fun looking up games that I missed out on from that era and buying them. So I've been slowly acquiring one Wii game after the other each time a used copy would arrive in stock.

I wouldn't say that I'm going to stop buying Wii games now, but the ones I buy from here on out are just bonus games for my collection. I don't really care if I have them or not, but I'd be interested in giving them a shot. I just don't have any that I really want to get anymore.

Just bought myself the echoes of the eye dlc for outer wilds on xbox. I loved the base game and have been unsure about returning to it as I thought the end of the base game was so perfect. However Uncle Phil sent me 4 quid of microsoft money randomly so thought for £7, it seemed like something I should check out. Anyone dabbled with outer wilds or echoes of the eye here?

Picked up Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PS2 the other day for the PS side of things. Game seems good so far, although different than the PC version that I'm used to. I did like that they made the Whomping Willow an actual boss fight, rather than just an obstacle like in the PC version. And that you can explore Diagon Alley in the beginning instead of it being cutscenes.

Just ordered Chorus and House of Ashes on Series X for €40 in total. Also bought Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water on Series X in the summer sale for €30.

Chorus has gone completely under my radar. It's a spaceship shooter with an arcade-y feel, just like Star Fox. I gave it a try briefly on Game Pass and it's so much fun. I looked up a couple of reviews and most people seem to love the game. Unlike the Star Fox games though, it has tons of content. The story is around 10 hours long but there are side quests as well so all in all it can take upwards of 30 hours to 100% the game, which is very promising. There aren't a lot of spaceship shooters these days and it was only €20, so I just had to buy it. Since it has potentially 30 hours of content, I decided to just buy it instead of spending an entire month of Game Pass on this game and just take my time playing through it. So if you've been craving for more Star Fox, Chorus seems to scratch that itch.

I also got House of Ashes and Project Zero because I need more horror games to play on Xbox since I own most of my horror titles on PS4. House of Ashes seems to be the best game in The Dark Pictures anthology so far, and I've never played Project Zero before so I'm very excited to give Maiden of Black Water a shot.
