While making some PS4 purchases, I decided to order some Xbox 360 games as well. I saw that Shift 2: Unleashed, Hitman: Absolution and Army of Two: The 40th Day were €10 each so I grabbed all three of them. Shouldn't be a surprise that I got Shift 2 as I'm continuously looking for more racing games to buy and this one seemed pretty good. Also recalled discussing with @RogerRoger a while ago about which Hitman game I should start out with and I decided to go with Absolution due to its linearity. Perhaps now's finally the time to delve into this beloved franchise!
Finally, I just had to get The 40th Day as well. I've been eyeing this game since I got my 360 back in 2010. For some reason I never got around to buying it, until now that is. So I'm very excited to finally give this game a go after all these years.
Has anybody used Price Charting dot com to catalogue and track their collections? I'm considering subscribing to their premium tier but not sure if it's a reliable or accurate service.
I just ordered a second copy of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. The first copy I received around 12-18 months ago turned up in a transparent CD case and it’s been bugging me ever since (literally triggering my OCD every time my eyes fall on it).
So, let’s say this second copy actually turns up in a proper PS3 case, I’d be happy to give my first copy (& its transparent CD case) away to anyone who might want it?
Just ordered Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes on Switch for €40. Saw that an online retailer put the game on sale just now and for that price, I decided to get it. I think the Nintendo musou games go fairly cheap because I bought Age of Calamity for maybe €30-35 a while back. So I probably could've gotten Three Hopes cheaper if I'd waited a bit longer, but I've been wanting to buy it and more Switch games in general so this was a good opportunity to do so now.
@KilloWertz Same here, I haven't played Three Houses yet either but I have it in my backlog. I don't know when I'll play it though. One reason why I haven't played certain games in my Switch backlog is because I have other titles in the series on 3DS that I still haven't played yet. I really want to play Fire Emblem Awakening and Birthright before getting to Three Houses. Same with e.g. Bravely Default as I have the first one and Bravely Second to play before Bravely Default II on Switch. So it's going to be a while before I get to those games.
On a side note, I just started playing Immortals Fenyx Rising on Switch, which is basically a mix between BotW and AC: Odyssey. It feels great to be playing another open world game like BotW on the Switch.
@LtSarge Play Three Houses before Awakening and Fates. It’s a lot more accessible and forgiving. I’d probably recommend Echoes after Three Houses actually, it’s a great remake and that way you’ll get the two games with entirely different structures out the way before tackling the more traditional map-based games.
@LtSarge In a sense, luckily I don''t have that issue as this is my first Nintendo system since all the way back with the NES. I plan on playing Bravely Default II someday, but that's going to be well after others like Three Houses, Breath of the Wild, Bayonetta 1-3, Triangle Strategy, at least one of the last two Xenoblade Chronicles, etc. Right now I'm still working my way through Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
Even though I have owned it on PS5 for a long time and was looking forward to playing the game, for whatever reason I still have yet to play Immortals Fenyx Rising. Given it resembling Breath of the Wild, I can understand wanting to play it on the Switch though.

@nessisonett I'm not sure I'd say Three Houses is more approachable than Awakening. Awakening is about as casual-friendly as Fire Emblem gets. There's a reason the series exploded in popularity after it released.
@KilloWertz You've got fantastic taste. That's a great list of games you have queued up.
@nessisonett@Ralizah Well it's not like I'm completely new to the franchise. I think you guys might remember when I reviewed The Sacred Stones last year, which became my favourite FE game because of how accessible it was. Before that game I played through The Blazing Blade (the game that came before TSS on GBA) and Shadows of Valentia on 3DS. I have dabbled quite a bit with this series, so I'm at a point where I don't really mind if my next game is challenging or not.
I'm also the type who likes to play things in order. So while it sounds appealing that Three Houses is more accessible, I think I'd regret playing it first and then going backwards through the series. It's kinda like how I'm playing Persona 3 Portable now after having played through P4G and P5R first. Because now I'm finding P3P to be quite disappointing compared to those games. I don't want to do the same mistake by playing Three Houses first and then be disappointed by Awakening/Birthright. So I think my next FE game will either be Awakening or maybe even Shadow Dragon if I want to keep going in order.
@KilloWertz For sure. It's also the perfect game to play that'll hold you over until BotW 2 comes out.
Also, I'm finally playing something new on the Switch! Hurray! I'm really glad you reinvigorated the Switch discussion because that encouraged me to play Immortals. And I've honestly not played a game that's grabbed me for quite some time now. Most of the titles I've been playing like Lego Batman or Team Sonic Racing are fun to play from time to time, but they aren't like games like Immortals where you can get lost playing the game for hours upon hours. So thank you for the encouragement!
I plan on playing Luigi's Mansion 3, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario Odyssey, and Astral Chain at some point as well. I'm sure I'm missing something too. Yikes...
@LtSarge I don't have to worry about that in a way as I doubt I'll be ready to play BoTW 2 when it comes out. I'm ok with that even though I'll miss out on all the discussions. Even if I do play the first one before it releases, I doubt I'll want to play the sequel right after it.
You're accidentally welcome. I'm glad you've managed to get such an enjoyable gaming experience out of it. Hopefully Ubisoft makes a sequel for it someday.

Saw that a store got copies of The Amazing Spider-Man and LEGO Lord of the Rings on PS3 in stock so I decided to order them for €35 in total. I've always wanted to give The Amazing Spider-Man a go since it came out roughly ten years ago. And I've heard LEGO Lord of the Rings is one of the best LEGO games. This purchase might also encourage me to watch the movies so that I can play it later on. Anyway, really looking forward to playing these games!
@RogerRoger I had forgotten that they made a Vita version of the game. That's really cool! I'm actually really interested in checking out older Spider-Man games. You tend to forget that there were actually good ones before the 2018 PS4 game. A lot of them are fairly expensive though, but at least Amazing Spider-Man was only €25. Who knows how much more expensive it could get in the future.
Have you by any chance played The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
@RogerRoger I just read your review and it doesn't sound good at all. Will just have to skip that one, which is too bad since people seemed to like the first Amazing Spider-Man. Thanks for the warning!
I'm actually really interested in the PS3/360 Spider-Man games, like Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time. So hopefully I'll be able to find them at a decent price because I really want to give them a go.
@RogerRoger I can’t remember if you’ve played the PS2 version of Spider-Man 3 or not but I remember it being genuinely quite good despite having nothing to do with the movie. Might just be nostalgia talking though!
@RogerRoger Hahaha, memory’s a fickle thing! I really should play that game again but I’m worried it might taint some of my memories of a janky but impressively free roaming game from my childhood. I never had GTA or anything during the PS2 era so I think it might have actually been my first open world experience. Although Need for Speed Underground 2 was a sort of open world that you drive around!
@RogerRoger Of course Hit & Run, I totally forgot about that! I do wonder if it really is as much of a modern open world though, with it being split into separate maps and only really having the main missions along with a bonus one. It’s probably more similar to games like Super Mario Sunshine or the collectathons like Banjo or the first Jak and Daxter and such, with how it approaches explorable levels rather than one whole map. I guess it’s probably a precursor to open worlds, that style of open 3D levels with multiple objectives that Super Mario 64 pioneered. And then you can trace that back to the old 2D Zelda games or even something like how explorable Doom is!
@RogerRoger I’ve seen a bit of footage from Batman & Robin and it looked strangely impressive in its own way. Sometimes these devs tasked with movie tie-ins were pretty ambitious!
Just ordered Triangle Strategy (Switch) and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Series X) for €60 in total. Saw that a store had put Skywalker Saga on sale for only €20 and on top of that, it also had Triangle Strategy for €40, which is usually the sweet spot for Switch exclusives. So I just had to order both of these games now.
What a weekend. I feel like I've cut my watchlist in half as most of the games on it have been bought now, lol.
