20. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (PS4)

If you're after some co-op FPS action, the Borderlands games offer some top notch shooting and looting. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is a great deal, giving you access to Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, along with all the accompanying DLC. With a ludicrous number of possible weapons, some great sci-fi environments to explore, and some daft storytelling to pull you along, this series is a highly entertaining way to get your co-op FPS kicks.

19. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (PS4)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is a welcome trip down memory lane. It may have ditched the revolutionary multiplayer offering and Spec Ops mode, but what has been brought into the modern era manages to stand on its own two feet. It still suffers from design choices of old, but this is an intense, enjoyable single player campaign that's more than worth your time.

18. Far Cry 5 (PS4)

Ubisoft's checklist open world formula wears a bit thin in Far Cry 5, but there's still good fun to be had in this fairly dense FPS (especially if you're partaking in some co-op action). The story tackles some interesting themes and it's got a memorable moment or two, while the often chaotic gameplay can be addictive if you can look past the repetition. A solid shooter, all told.

17. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (PS4)

A DLC turned into a standalone game, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood sits alongside The New Order as a continuation of its story and gameplay. Split across two campaigns, you'll work your way through Castle Wolfenstein and then battle the undead. If you loved what MachineGames did in The New Order, this is another healthy dose of that.

16. Dying Light (PS4)

Parkour and zombie-killing go hand-in-hand in Dying Light, an open world, post-apocalyptic title that delivers intense first-person survival gameplay. You’ll conquer the rooftops of Harran as a parkour master, or run for your life as the thrilling day/night turns you from predator to prey. It was an entertaining game out of the box, but made better and better thanks to years of post-launch support.

15. Battlefield 4 (PS4)

Though we weren't huge fans of its campaign, Battlefield 4 remains one of the series' best loved entries because of its top of the line multiplayer. Still going strong after over a decade, the game is still plenty of high-octane fun with friends, though the player count isn't what it used to be. Once you're in a match, you can understand why people love it — fantastic gunplay, fun modes and maps, and varied approaches in only the way Battlefield offers.

14. Battlefield 1 (PS4)

Battlefield 1 broke tradition by opting for the First World War instead of the Second for its setting, which brought with it a lot of novelty and interest. With a decent single player campaign alongside it, Battlefield 1 was a fairly unique online title that remains a highlight of the PS4 era. Its still got a healthy player base, too, so jumping in this much time later shouldn't prove difficult.

13. Far Cry 4 (PS4)

Ubisoft struck gold with the previous game, so it doubled down on that formula for Far Cry 4. With an open world map loosely based on Nepal, the game takes players to another wild, fictional setting filled with aggressive wildlife, enemy encampments, vehicles, and more. It builds upon its predecessor's compelling loop of slowly accruing and upgrading weapons and perks to turn you into a one-man army, and while the story isn't all that memorable, it's still a good time overall.

12. Far Cry 3: Classic Edition (PS4)

This port of Far Cry 3 to PS4 is a welcome one, as Ubisoft's open world shooter remains a real treat. The fictional archipelago of Rook Islands makes for a fantastic tropical sandbox that's rife with danger — whether that's from Vaas, now an iconic gaming villain, or the local wildlife. Playing as a rich kid struggling to survive in the harsh wilderness, you gradually become a force to be reckoned with as you take down enemy outposts and upgrade all your weapons.

11. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (PS4)

As is the case with DOOM, Bethesda’s staked its claim as the masters of reviving old-school first-person franchises. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has all of the camp European eccentricities of its predecessor, but it presents them all in the context of a Nazi occupied United States. With bone-rattling gunplay and an engaging storyline, B.J. Blazkowicz is not past it yet.
