What are the best PS4 exclusive games? Whether you're just starting your PS4 journey or have had one for since the beginning, you'll no doubt want to play the absolute best games exclusive to the console. Well, the PlayStation 4 has plenty of those, covering a wide range of tastes.
Over the years, Sony has built up a seriously impressive group of developers, collectively known as PS Studios. With well-known teams like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla Games, and many more, the platform holder is able to produce some of gaming's best loved titles each and every year. PS Studios really came into its own on PS4, developing a tonne of fantastic games of all shapes and sizes.
To figure out which are the best PS4 exclusive games, we're handing things over to you lot. Yes, the Push Square community and all their user ratings are what drives this list. As you rank them up and down, their positions on this page will adjust accordingly, meaning it reflects the views of our readers.
Before we get to the good bit, though, a small bit of housekeeping. The term "exclusive" has become muddied over the past generation or so, with so many games releasing across generations and onto PC. Therefore, we've expanded what games qualify for this list. If a game appears on a platform beyond PS4, it must work to these parameters in order to make it into the rankings:
- Available on Xbox
- No
- Available on Nintendo
- No
- Available on PC
- Yes
- Available on PS5
- Yes
With that out of the way, it's time to get to your list of the best PS4 exclusives games. If you think there's a game missing, use the search bar below to find it and then hand it your own rating. Your score might be enough to push it onto the list!
Note: Any game will need at least 40 ratings before it arrives on this page. If there's a game you feel is missing from this list, it's possible the title just hasn't been rated enough times.
So, below is a list of the best PS4 exclusive games, as ranked and rated by you.
30. Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4)
The series hit its stride on PS3, but Killzone Shadow Fall is a highly entertaining launch title that seriously showed off what the PS4 could do on day one. A visual spectacle, as is the norm coming from Guerrilla Games, it might not have the best campaign, but the shooting itself is solid and the multiplayer was a lot of fun before the servers were switched off. It's not the best in the series, but its unique style and impressive tech made it an early PS4 treat.
29. Concrete Genie (PS4)
Concrete Genie probably isn't the first PS4 exclusive you'd think of, but it's certainly one of the most creative. Playing as a young boy harassed by bullies, you discover a magical paintbrush which can paint living, breathing worlds on the walls of your dismal town. You're free to create your very own murals, populating your scenes with friendly creatures you can interact with, and who will help you on your journey. It's a heartfelt and very enjoyable adventure, and an optional PSVR mode certainly sweetens the deal.
28. LittleBigPlanet 3 (PS4)
The last major, numbered entry in the series, LittleBigPlanet 3 is just as adorable and innovative as its predecessors. It introduces three brand new playable characters, each with their own unique gameplay and abilities, leading to lots more possibilities in the level editor. And while that's the main draw for some, the game also comes with a full length campaign you can play solo or with some pals. It didn't make as big a splash as the previous main game, but it's a perfectly fine entry — and there are literally millions of community levels to play.
27. Gran Turismo Sport (PS4)
Sony's flagship racing series has had its ups and downs, but Gran Turismo Sport was an especially unusual step in the history of the franchise. Primarily focusing on online multiplayer and esports, the game featured the same gorgeous visuals and impressive handling you'd expect, but without most of the content that fans love. Again, the game itself looks and plays great, and its online racing is rather innovative, encouraging good sportsmanship above all. There's still a lot to like about Sport, but the meatier Gran Turismo 7 is arguably the stronger entry overall.
26. Gran Turismo 7 (PS4)
Gran Turismo 7 is the more complete package that fans have been wanting since the previous game's focus on esports. While it does feature excellent online multiplayer, the main draw is the huge, "Car-PG" single-player offering. Hundreds of cars are yours to collect and tune up, and the wonderful handling makes each one a pleasure to drive. The GT Café makes all the events, licence tests, and other activities easier to digest, and it's hard to not be won over by the sheer volume of information packed in about car culture and history. A return to form for the series.
25. DriveClub (PS4)
The story of DriveClub is fascinating. It took some time, but it eventually grew from a botched launch title into a cracking racing game stuffed with content. The presentation remains impressive years later, and the “simcade” handling is a great balance that provides enough of a challenge but doesn’t alienate more casual petrolheads. Throw in the Bikes expansion, the brilliant social features, VR support, and one of the most generous season passes ever, and you've got one stonking racer. Unfortunately, it's now been delisted from the PS Store, and its online servers have been shut down. A sad end to a rollercoaster story — but a great game nonetheless.
24. inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)
Sucker Punch continues its popular superhero series with a brand new protagonist in inFAMOUS: Second Son. Taking the open world action to Seattle, you play as Delsin Rowe, a conduit with the amazing ability to absorb the powers of other superhumans. This gives you many more toys to play with as you progress, gaining unusual abilities based on smoke, neon, digital, and more. Exploring the city feels great, combat is fun and varied, and it looks fantastic — a great early showpiece for PS4.
23. The Last Guardian (PS4)
From the team behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, you shouldn't overlook The Last Guardian. This third game in the loosely connected trilogy has just as much heart and impact as the others — not to mention one of the most technically impressive AI companions yet seen. Playing as a small boy, you and a large, mysterious creature called Trico must escape from a crumbling, enigmatic place full of dangers. The bond you'll form with Trico — who gradually learns to trust and listen to you more as the game goes on — is unlike any other in video games, leading to an incredibly emotional and touching adventure.
22. Days Gone (PS4)
After several years working on handhelds like PS Vita and PSP, Bend Studio marked its return to home consoles with its ambitious open world adventure Days Gone. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game’s biker motif made it stand out from the crowd, as your two-wheels became your sanctuary in an extremely hostile setting. A huge focus on story and some genuinely impressive tech allowed the developer to flex its muscle, and the release would go on to become a cult favourite among PS4 fans.
21. Until Dawn (PS4)
Supermassive Games made a real name for itself with Until Dawn. This narrative adventure game effectively lets you partake in a schlocky teen horror movie, where your choices will have potentially grisly effects on the ensemble cast. With atmosphere to spare, lovably corny performances, and a highly replayable adventure full of outcomes to discover, it's no wonder this game is such a cult hit.

Knack 2 is on it! Whoooo!!!
Lots of great games that I haven't got round to playing on this list.
God of number 1.of course kratos is number one.PlayStation best franchises is legendary.the man the icon .the legend kratos the great.word up son
It is a crime that Detroit Become Human isn't in the top 10.
Great list, but Gravity Rush 2 should be in a better position, imho. Anyway, all the games mentioned are great.
We could also mention Tearaway Unfolded, a hidden gem.
It’s hard to disagree with games in a top 20 list, they’ll never quite be in an order how you’d have them. But I truly can’t see how nex machina is not in there. It’s superior to resogun (an amazing game). Scored very highly in reviews but beaten by knack. Go figure.
With the exception of gts, I have all of this games. And yay for gravity rush 2
20 reasons why Playstation is top this gen.
Sorry to sound fanboyish but Xbox really doesn't have exclusive titles that match these for quality.
I guess only Forza would really stand up compared to Driveclub or Gran Turismo.
A shame, I really don't know what MS were thinking this gen.
Oh, and where is Nioh!?!?!?!
@gingerfrog Nex Machina is also on PC, therefore it is only a PS4 console exclusive. The point of the article was games that can only be played on the console and no where else.
Still don't understand the hype of Bloodbourne, more like Bloodbore!
Persona 5 isn't a PS4 exclusive.
Well, anyway, not a terrible list of games, but very little exciting for me here. There are still a few of these I want to play, like TLG, SotC, R&C, and H:ZD.
@eltomo Yep. Run around bland environment killing enemies, kill boss, unlock new area, repeat countless times. Not to mention how easy it was for me to get lost in these labyrinthine environments with barely anything to orient me. Bloodborne and other Souls games feel almost unfinished.
As much as I loved Bloodborne and got the Platinum, I think it should be behind Horizon. It's a game that's all gameplay and challenge but nothing else really, I mean they could at least make the lips of the NPCs move, zoom in and faces are like PS2. Horizon on the other hand evidently has more effort put in. We shouldn't make FromSoftware rest on their laurels and keep throwing RPGs at us with statue NPCs that speak 2 lines of text hiding in rooms to a mute protagonist.
And Persona 5.........great but too much repetitive text.
Plus I think I don't like silent protagonists.
I've been playing a lot of Bloodborne this week and I finally get why its truly a great game. I really struggled to get into it at all the limited time I'd spent with it before.
The Eurogamer team (Johnny and Aoife) have been are doing a weekly playthrough of it on their YouTube channel and it's great fun. Anyway so after enjoying watching them play bits of it, I finally decided to get stuck in myself and now I feel like an addict.
Great list but questionable order
Good list. I just started playing The Last Guardian. It’s gonna sit for longer though, because I realized I’ve been watching something f that’s been pulling at my heartstrings like crazy, and it will be too much heartstring pulling if I play that at the same time.
Also, Persona 5 isn’t at the top of the list. Something is wrong here. I would also put Samurai Warriors 4 on here too. That’s an excellent exclusive often overlooked.
@Ralizah It’s close enough, it was on the PS3, but no one cares about that.
@Ralizah Neither is Journey.
Though I bet you the sole reason that game is on the list is because of Sammy
Bloodborne is the superior choice (or P5)
I just bought Resogun recently. It is highly regarded and was on sale for around $3, so it was a very "safe" purchase. I haven't played more than a couple of hours of It, mostly because it hasn't pulled me in as much as I expected. It's a solid experience for me, not exceptional.
@Jaz007 No, it's not "close enough." It had a full retail release for both PS3 and PS4.
@Octane Probably. He really seems to love that boring game.
I'd say Bloodborne is the best PS4 exclusive myself.
And then R&C and Driveclub.
@Daggadat "All gameplay and challenge.. but the lips don't move "
"Nioh is better than Bloodborne"
I enjoyed what I played of Nioh (just the demos) more than the 20-ish hours I spent with Bloodborne. Nioh seems like a really solid title. Feels like a cross between the more solid aspects of both 3D Ninja Gaiden and Souls games.
@Turismo4GT
Wasn’t aware of that good knowledge. I wrongly thought the studio only produced games for PlayStation
@Futureshark To a degree, I do agree with you. Forza Motorsport for sure stands up against GTSport/Driveclub and MS has released 3 of those for XB1 (5, 6 and 7). There isn't really anything from Sony to match Forza Horizon and I can't think of anything that matches up to Halo Wars 2. Maybe you don't enjoy Arcade open world racers or RTS games so these didn't register. MS has had the 'best' MP FPS exclusives too with Titanfall and Halo as well as games like Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forest and State of Decay 2 which really don't have any comparative games on PS - Infamous is probably the closest to Sunset Overdrive. Gears of course has similarities with other 3rd person story based cover shooters and I do think the game-play was great even if the Story was a bit lacking.
Anyway the point is that if you like narrative most of all in games, Sony certainly has that mastered. Sony's studio's are delivering very high quality visuals too - helped by Sony's decision to put a heavy focus on the GPU and RAM in the PS4.
If I was to list my top 20 'exclusives' and inc XB1 in that too, there is no doubt that Sony's would occupy the top 3 and that could easily be 8 or 9 in the top 10 when games like Spider-Man, Last of Us 2, Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima release but a lot of the games here would be knocked out of my top 20 because of XB1 games. Granted a lot are not Game of the Year contenders like Uncharted 4 or Horizon: Zero Dawn but a lot are better than games like Until Dawn and I wouldn't count remasters or remakes either (like Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus) as these are older gen games. If you can, then why not the Nathan Drake collection as that is a lot better than most games in this top 20 imo.
Of course its personal opinion and the games I like will be different to others so my list would be different to others. Sony do have a big advantage because they have more studio's too.
Personally I don’t think the PS4 has had particularly good exclusives this gen compared to previous consoles. A lot of the different or kids stuff has been rather ‘meh’, and in recent years there’s been a reliance on sandbox games. Plus quite a few of these exclusives can be played on a PS3 if not so shiny. Separating the exclusives from the massive third party support really does show up a weakness.
Saying that, still leaps a bounds better than XB1. But nowhere as good as the Switch when it comes to diversity in game variety.
@Ralizah For the intent and purpose of anyone looking at the list, they’re looking for PS exclusives on the PS4. Anyone looking for the best PS exclusives wouldn’t want P5 to be excluded because it was technically on the PS3 as a miracle release. If it was worded as best Playstation exclusives on PS4, then it’d be correct. It’s a small thing that defeats the purpose of the list.
Great list! I own Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us Remastered, Ratchet & Clank, Infamous: Second Son, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I also have Journey and Bloodborne through PlayStation Plus.
@ShogunRok why isn't any YAKUZA on the list?
Where is Nioh ??? DriveClub better than GT Sport ??? And no Yakuza ???
WHO DID DIS ?
No Yakuza 6? Here's hoping it comes to PC then.
Having Knack 2 in your top 20 is a bit embarrassing and not a good look for the PS4. You really couldn't have had something else in its place? Like Gravity Rush Remastered or Rigs or Fighting EX Layer or The Persistence or Yakuza 6 or, well, just about any other exclusive that isn't the first Knack!
@Oscarjpc Yakuza 0 is also on PC now. Yakuza 6 is also coming to PC in the near future. Otherwise they'd both be on this list, without a doubt.
Also Nioh is on PC, people. Come on.
I agree with most of these titles, though it's a shame we're leaving out games also on PC.
@MrGawain
You sound like your living in a Nintendo bubble.
Seriously? Journey is not that good folks
My Top-10 of exclusives would look something like this:
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Everybody's Golf, Gran Turismo Sport, Gravity Rush 2, The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bound, Detroit: Become Human, Horizon Zero Dawn.
How on earth do God of War and Uncharted beat Bloodborne? God of War is alright at best but Uncharted 4 is absolutely God awful.
Everybody's Golf has to be in the Top 20, probably Top 10.
Updated
Sooner or later we all wake up on Yahar'gul. Play smart.
Ratchet and Clank is my new favorite exclusive (used to be P.T.). Wonderful game!
Oh boy.
I'm curious about what position Days Gone will be. Even if it doesn't look like a goty material, it's probably going to be really fun.
@Carter0108 Hahaha, I know that we should respect different opinions, but that's ridiculous. God of War just alright? Uncharted 4 awful? Sure Jan...
All of them.
The Witcher 3 for me because i played it exclusively on my PS4.
You can always count on the comments section on this kinds of lists for some truly awful opinions. Hoo boy.
There are those that get Bloodborne, and those that don't. I've been replaying with a friend that recently bought a PS4 and now we've been playing a few times a week. Trying a whole new build and it's a different game.
Not sure how Journey is ahead of TLoU even when both were released on PS3.
@Medic_alert I like your list. Spot on for me.

@PabloDiablo Well let me show you the way out then.
Updated with Dreams, Days Gone, etc.!
Why is Detroit on this list? Why is Journey? Both of these games are on pc, both part of the sad trend of losing exclusives.
Another win for...
👑 king kratos number one.word up atreus son.
I can get behind most of these games, but God of War is a landmark adventure game? How exactly? It does nothing that’s different from action-adventure games that have come before it. The story is serviceable at best. Are standards really that low here?
@Akurusu I agree. There are games on this list that offer unique gameplay experiences, like Spider-man, SOTC and The Last Guardian but all these get stomped because....."boy". GoW is a damn good game but nothing innovative and nowhere near a landmark in the action-adventure genre.
Horizon Zero Dawn is my favourite and best PS4 exclusive. No question.
Great list, definitely agree with number 1! One of the best all around games I've played in years. Ps4 has had quite a run, looking forward to all the sequels on the PS5!!
@PS_Nation Because God of War is just that. It’s an all right game. Nothing new. Nothing innovative. And nowhere near a landmark. Just something to pass the time. All it did was take a platformer and turn it into the average action-adventure game. Not the first time it happened & not the first time it was done that way.
@ApostateMage i agree about HZD. My favorite ps4 exclusive, but GoW was also very good. Horizon is just so good though, taking down giant robots with a bow and arrow, just so fun. And when u got good at the game and everything clicked you become one badass lady.
Edit: talking about this i think im gonna redownload it and do the expansion!
@ellsworth004 Do it! The Frozen Wilds is a great expansion with some of the toughest ferocious nasties that Aloy will ever face. The animations and voice acting are excellent too, so much of an improvement over the main game. Also, you'll get to hear the 'best band in the world', Concrete Beach Party.
Definitely Bloodborne. Absolutely unique in its own right.
God of War is far too high. It should be ranked 10 at best, mainly because it plays a lot like linear action-adventure games that have come before it. If you’ve played a ton of action-adventure games, then you’ve already played God of War.
I have Ratchet & Clank PS4 as the only PS4 Exclusive i play.
@Akurusu but its not all about the gameplay. It the beutiful graphics, great characters, epic boss battles and great story. Ive played alot of action adventure games too but i usually get bored of them.
The Witness surely deserves a mention.
@East76landS The Witness is on PC and Xbox One.
My personal Podium: 3' Horizon Zero Dawn, 2' God of War, 1' Bloodborne.
Bloodborne is best Game of this generation for me. not only best PS4 exclusive.
If you still love story driven single player games like me - PlayStation is the place to be. Their exclusives are some of the best examples on the market.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Great graphics? You mean like just about every other game that’s out there? Boss battles is what made God of War popular, but they failed majorly here. Only three fights actually stood out. But if you consider a thousand re-skinned trolls boss battles with repetitive animations the same then sure.
@Akurusu If you think that just about every other game out there looks as good or better than GOW then i must certainly be playing the wrong games as there arnt many games ive played recently or previously than look as good. Your personal oppinion is as valid as mine and not everyone can agree on the same things in life. The world would be boring if we all did 👍
3. Horizon Zero Dawn
2. Death Stranding
1. Bloodborne
why ff vii remake on the list while nioh is not
So far. 5. Spidey 4. Uncharted 4 3. Bloodborne 2. Horizon 1. GoW.
Honorable mentions: Wipeout VR, Astrobot VR, Farpoint VR, Gravity Rush 1 & 2, and Dreams.
So many great titles. Since i know im in the minority on Push Square on this one- Finally!! FF7R tomorrow😁
@Sebatrox eh. They arent on pc yet and the others are still exclusive to PS
Love all of them!
For me, Bloodborne is easily my #1, but I understand that it’s not for everyone so would agree that God of War is probably the definitive PS4 game. But I fully expect Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 to shake things up!
Only point of contention for me is GT Sport, I’d have Driveclub there instead any day of the week.
@eltomo just because you can't finish it it doesn't mean that the game is over hyped or overrated.
Ooooh Ghost goes in above Horizon! Possibly a bit of recency bias here?
Nonetheless it's looking good
Wow! You guys have Ghost ahead of Spider-Man and Horizon- which has got me excited! It's been downloading all morning - can't wait to jump in this afternoon after work. Sony released 4 of the top 10 this year - nice to see them supporting their systems until the end.
You're gonna have to pull HZD off this list. And eventually FF7R.
Above Horizon Zero Dawn eh (I still say thats too low), I'm not sure about that one but I'm only a few hours in and its been very fun so far
@Menchi how does that work when there won't be anymore PS4 exclusives?
Love me a bit of Bloodborne!
“However, remasters”
As soon as I saw this I knew this was there exclusively to pretend TLOU1 belonged on this list. If that game belongs here, so does Uncharted collection. I know they hyped TLOU Remaster a lot, but after buying it and going through it, it felt little more than an up-res port that should had simply been free to owners of the original game.
God of war is still number one to me.best game i ever play.word up son
So far I have zero interest in getting a PS5, but an expansion of the Bloodborne universe could change all that. This lovecraftian masterpiece had me tangled up in it's weirdness for months and I loved every moment of it.
1. Last of us 2.
2. Bloodborne
3. Horizon zero dawn
Caveat, yet to play God of war, spiderman or ghosts but they are going to have to go some to get above any of those three!
@carlos82 HZD will not be exclusive come August 7th.
FF7R will not be exclusive in April.
Pretty simple how it works.
@Menchi FFVII when it goes to Xbox fair enough but nobody counts PC when talking about exclusives
@carlos82 That's their incorrect choice. It's not exclusive if you don't need that platform to play it.
@Menchi its not incorrect, thats been a pretty common interpretation since the 32 bit era. Looking at the rules they have set out they don't allow console exclusives, which itself calls into question any PS Now game and I'd argue The Last of Us is breaking their own rules
@carlos82 Not native. You're still playing the console version of it, which is why emulation has never been counted, even with the hacks and mods.
The Last of Us Part 1, Persona 5 and Shadow of the Colossus aren't PS4 exclusives.
Not bad. I'd put God of War at number 1, and Persona 5 Royal (which is exclusive) at the 2 spot.
Enjoyed the Last of Us 2 in terms of gameplay and detail, but I didnt dig the story enough to say it's a top 3 game. It was too messy for my taste.
Agreed with top 4. Good list.
Last of us part 2 at number 1 😂😂😂😂
No one at pushsquare believes this. So woke 😂😂😂😂
I love you push Square but this list is way out of whack...
@Tchunga of course they are. You can't play those versions of the games anywhere but PS4.
P5R should be much higher !
1. Yakuza 0
2. God of War
3. Ratchet & Clank
4. Spider-Man
5. Horizon Zero Dawn
Looking forward to seeing where Ghost of Tsushima ends up. I think it'll at least crack this list with a chance of topping it. Love what I've played so far, especially the sword fights.
@Gamer83 Yakuza 0 is out on Xbox and PC now
@Barryburton97
Oops, forgot it was on Xbox now. If it were on PS4 and PC I'd still count is as 'console exclusive.'
Revised list:
1. God of War
2. Ratchet & Clank
3. Spider-Man
4. Horizon Zero Dawn
5. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
@roe I can literally play all three of those games right now on my PS3
@Tchunga nah
Bunch of multiplats included on this list for some reason.
Last of us 2 #1? Is this a joke. Aside from being a technical looker this game suckssssss. Talk about the disappointment of the generation.
Does 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim not count? As I comment it's only on PS4 and one of the best experiences I've had on the consoles.
@Menchi What ones?
@LiamCroft TLOU, Spiderman, SOTC. One could argue the "remaster/remake is only on ps4", fine.
But most notably, Horizon Zero Dawn.
Edit: FF7R even confirmed as multiplat in the original announcement.
Personally my top 5 would be
5) Astro bot VR
4) Ff7 remake
3) God Of War
2) Spider-Man
1) Horizon (though no longer ps exclusive)
Edit; Lost legacy was much better than uc4, that game was a disappointment.
Push Square can you please implement a 'sort by newest first' option in the comments?
God of war is number 1.ghost of tshushima is 2.word up son
@Octane Do I have terrible news for you...
Context btw:
Octane wrote:
Dreams and Shadow of the colossus are ranked way too high over games that are much better
My favorite is the one with the muscle man who paddles canoes super fast and has a son who pew pews bad guys with his bow and arrows
I'd burn last of us 2 from my memory if I could.
I didn't realize "no particular order" actually means "very specific order". Thanks, comment section!
My favourites would be Resogun, The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, Bloodborne, God of War and Uncharted 4 (the online was a massive letdown though)
@kyleforrester87
I'd go with that too 😁
Bloodborne really is one of the best games of all time. The combat, the builds, the lore, the music. Pure perfection
