Fortunately, there are a few ways you can begin building your Ultimate Team before launch day. In this FIFA 23 guide, we're going to explain how to play early by confirming all FIFA 23 release dates, including the Ultimate Edition Early Access release date and EA Play trial release date.
FIFA 23 Release Dates: Ultimate Edition Early Access and EA Play Trial
You won't need to wait until FIFA 23's official release date on 30th September to start building your FUT 23 squad or begin your Pro Clubs career. EA Sports has lined up a couple of ways for you to get started early. On this page we're going to explain how to play FIFA 23 early, including the game's Ultimate Edition Early Access release date and EA Play trial release date.
However, if you don't want to spend extra money, there are a couple of other options available to you. For example, you can begin trading players and completing SBCs using the FIFA 23 Web App. Alternatively, you can download the FIFA 23 Companion App for your iPhone or Android smartphone. Much like the Web App, this will allow you to get started trading players and completing SBCs. If you're a long-time FIFA player, then you'll even have a handful of Loyalty Packs to open to help get you started.
FIFA 23 EA Play Trial Release Date
EA Play is FIFA 23 publisher Electronic Arts' subscription service, which offers a number of perks, including automatic FUT 23 seasonal progress, 10% discounts on FIFA Points purchases, and VOLTA Football cosmetic rewards. As part of the membership you'll get early access to 10 hour trials for upcoming EA Sports titles, including FIFA 23. The EA Play trial for FIFA 23 will allow you to play from 27th September, 2022, and is now live on the PS Store in select territories. The total file size is 43.2GB on PS5.
It's worth noting that you'll only be able to play the EA Play trial for a total of 10 hours, although the timer will only countdown while you're in game. You can find a full list of All EA Play Games on PS5, PS4 through the link, if you want to know what else you'll be getting for your money.
A subscription to EA Play costs £3.99/$4.99 per month, or £19.99/$29.99 per year. You can subscribe for just a single month in order to download and play the EA Play trial of FIFA 23. Your save progress will carry across to the full game, including any acquisitions you make for your FUT 23 team. If you're a new subscriber, then you can get one month of EA Play as part of a special promotion for just £0.79/$0.99 until 30th September, 2022, although this subscription will auto-renew so make sure you cancel it before you incur any fees.
FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition Early Access Release Date
If you're willing to splash the cash on FIFA 23 this year, you'll be able to play the full game from 27th September, 2022 with the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition. In addition to Early Access, the Ultimate Edition also includes the following perks:
- PS5 and PS4 Versions
- 1x FUT Ones to Watch Item (Untradeable)
- 1x Team of the Week 1 Item (Untradeable)
- 4,600 FIFA Points
- Kylian Mbappe Loan Item
- FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick
- Career Mode Homegrown Talent
The Ultimate Edition retails for £89.99/$99.99, but does include a lot of value for the price point, including that all-important Early Access to the full-game. If you're planning to play a lot of FUT 23 over the course of the coming season, then it's well worth the price of admission.
The FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition Early Access will be available from midnight in your country, and it's possible to play first if you pre-order in New Zealand. Unfortunately, unlike on Xbox, there's no easy way to change your region on PS5 and PS4, therefore you'll probably have to wait until its midnight in your country before digging in.

Feel this being the last ever FIFA it’ll be the worst. Commentary again will be the same bull crap of last year, no Ultimate Team improvements at all, some graphical improvements and they’ll call it HyperMotion2, career mode some improvements including be a manager, like be Klopp, or Ten Hag, but yeah very low expectations for this final swan song for FIFA, goodbye FIFA, but the worse one yet, 6’s, 7’s and 8’s the review scores will be when they come out.
@andy24king yeah from what I've seen on youtube, this year's game will be weak.
