On this page, we're going to explain how to transfer PS4 save data progress to PS5. It goes without saying that before you get started you'll need to own GTA 5 on the PS4 and have started the single player storyline involving Franklin, Michael, and Trevor.

Upload PS4 Save Data

Load into GTA 5's single player mode and once you have control of any character press the Options button on your controller. Navigate to Game and select Upload Save Game. You'll be presented with a list of saves, so pick the one you want to transfer — presumably your most recent save data. Keep in mind that you can only upload one save per console family and it will only be retained on Rockstar's servers for 90 days, so don't start this process unless you plan to buy GTA 5 on PS5 within the next three months.
