In MLB The Show 24, there are three throwing interfaces to choose from, and a fourth automatic option. We'd recommend against Auto Throwing, because this puts the power entirely in the CPU's hands, and you may not always agree with its decisions. The remaining options are as follows:

Button Accuracy
Press and release the button within the timing window to increase the throwing accuracy.
Buttons
Use buttons to throw to the corresponding bases.
Analog
Analog Throwing utilises the right stick when throwing to the bases.

While all three options are ultimately quite similar, we'd recommend you select Button Accuracy. This is the most difficult option, as it requires you to release the button in a sweet spot that appears, which is represented by your fielder's unique statistics. However, the upside is that it allows you to unlock the most precise animations and fastest releases, meaning if you get the timing right, you'll be able to oversee some elite defence.

In MLB The Show 24, Button Accuracy means the sweet spot on the meter won't always appear in the same place, and will instead move about depending on the difficulty of the throw and your player's attributes. In our opinion, this adds a little more spice to the fielding gameplay, and keeps you on your toes.

Both Buttons and Analog largely operate the same way, the only difference is that the former assigns face buttons to each base, while the latter uses the analogue stick instead. Seeing as you're likely to be using buttons for your baserunning as well, we reckon the consistency of the Buttons option is favourable. But really, you should be opting for Buttons Accuracy, as the mechanic is the same, it just has the upshot of those extra accurate throws when you time it up perfectly.
