Red Dead Online: How to Play Call to Arms
In order to play Call to Arms in Red Dead Online, you'll first need to go to your Camp. You can choose to spawn directly at your Camp from the main menu. Alternatively, you can head to your nearest Post Office, whichever is more convenient for you.
Among your deliveries will be a Telegram named Call to Arms. The description explains: "A batch of telegrams offering work as a hired gun."
Hold right on the d-pad to open your Satchel and scroll to Documents using the L1 and R1 buttons. Select Telegrams and then open Call to Arms. You'll find a list of Telegrams for Call to Arms missions in the following locations: Blackwater, Fort Mercer, Strawberry, Valentine, and MacFarlane's Ranch. Select one and the mission will load.
Call to Arms is a co-operative gauntlet where you'll face off against increasingly difficult waves of bandits. You'll have five minutes to prepare for the mission, which will include allowing you to reposition allies around the map. This works a little like tower defense, as placing your allies in optimal positions will give you additional aid in combat. In order to reposition allies, look at them and hold L2. Ask them to follow you and then lead them to position.
You can retry a Call to Arms if you're defeated before the 10th wave, although if you quit back to Free Roam or complete the mission there is a cooldown before you can play again. You'll earn Money and Gold (See Also: How to Earn Gold) for participating in the mission, proportionate to how far you progressed.
