How Do You Get the Handgun in Silent Hill 2?

Silent Hill 2 likes to play with your mind a little by letting you find Handgun Ammo well before you can actually get the Handgun itself. It gets to the point where you think you might have actually missed it completely, which could be why you're checking this very guide. Rest assured: you almost certainly haven't missed it.

You'll find the Handgun inside Wood Side Apartments, on floor 2F. Once you've used the 2F Hallway Key and reached the end of the corridor (with Pyramid Head on the other side of the metal bars), you can enter Room 213 and squeeze through a gap in the wall to bypass a locked door, leading you back out into the corridor. From here, go to the end of the path and enter Room 217 on your right. Inside the trolley in the middle of the room is the Handgun. Now you can start using all that Handgun Ammo you've stocked up!
