Is there a post credits scene in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie? It's fairly common these days for blockbusters to hide an extra scene part way through the end credits, forcing theatre-goers to stay glued to their seats for a few extra minutes — just in case. In this quick guide, we're going to tell you whether Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has any post credit scenes to stick around for.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Is There a Post Credits Scene?
Yes, the Sonic movie sequel does have one post credits scene. Following a flashy, video game-esque credits sequence naming the core cast and crew, a short scene will play out, picking up from where the movie ends.
If you're curious to know what's shown in this post credits scene, continue reading below — but obviously, be wary of spoilers if you want to keep it all a surprise.
The post credits scene takes us back to the movie's climactic scene, where GUN agents are investigating the wreckage of Robotnik's enormous mech suit. As a pair of agents are conversing, one of them questions whether Eggman could still be alive, and the other responds there'd be no way someone could survive a crash of that scale. Following this, we see Robotnik's extremely loyal assistant, Stone, in disguise. We're sure we'll see more from him in the third movie.
Next, another agent runs in, having made a discovery. Research dating back 50 years has been discovered, referring to something named Project Shadow. As this conversation goes on, the camera cuts to a mysterious facility, and the post credits scene ends on the reveal of Shadow the Hedgehog, who will no doubt be the main antagonistic force in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

@RogerRoger Having long payoffs are either a blessing (for both Sonic and Marvel) or a curse (for Star Wars).
Star Wars had it as a curse because people's expectations were sky-high for Episode VIII that subverting said expectations in a controversial way would clearly be sour for many fans. And The Rise of Skywalker was such a haphazardly-made finale that it ended Star Wars with a whimper, and not the bang it deserved.
I am predicting Sonic 3 will have great payoffs, though.
We also have a Knuckles the Echidna show being made for next year.
And with Marvel, they can still make great content but having multiple shows and movies at the same time is just getting a bit too overwhelming now.
I really wish Sonic can find the perfect balance of being intricately plotted with numerous instalments but not to the point of overflooding the market like what Star Wars did and what Marvel is probably going to do.
