I'll be watching. Cant wait to see more of Village. It looks great so far
I was intrigued by the secret beta until I discovered it's multiplayer. Oh well, wait and see I suppose.
Would really love to see a remaster-remake collection for next gen that includes RE:1 HD, RE:2 remake, and 3 remake.
3 and 6 are the only ones I have yet to play. I’ve beaten all the others multiple times.
First resident evil game I played was the remake of 2. Really enjoyed that and really enjoyed 3 remake and 7. Tried to play re origins collections and just couldn’t do it. The tank controls and fixed camera angles are really showing their age. I would personally love to see a remake of 1.
It's way past my bedtime but I'm looking forward to this.
What are the odds of a full remake for the original RE1 game? Like a full-on, rebuilt game similar to RE2 and RE3.
Also, give us Code: Veronica.
Can’t wait for the show case even though it’s at 10pm over here. I’d absolutely love a full remake of RE1 and code Veronica That would be insane.
I hope we learn more about our new very tall and pale girlfriend!
wonder if we'll hear anything about the movie reboot?
You can also watch this on the PlayStation Twitch channel.
I'm not exactly a RE guy but I can spare 20 minutes to take a look
Any news on whether this may have a VR mode? Resi7 in VR was infinitely better than in flat mode.
@UnlimitedSevens it already has a full on remake but I know what you're getting at and it would be cool to explore the mansion that way, perhaps like RE7's first person gameplay
Well looks like a late night for me, there's no game I'm looking forward to more than Resident Evil Village and fingers crossed for the original trilogy to be available on modern consoles too
You guys think 10pm is late lol 😅
After midnight is late to me.
Interesting that you separate „UK/Ire“ and „Europe“ with total 3 time zones, while „North America“ covers 4 time zones (btw, Canada has more than 4). Are UK and Ireland not part Europe any more? And what is about Portugal and the Canary Islands, are they part of „UK/Ire“? Okay, Madeira maybe...
@UnlimitedSevens
My heart tells me no. The GameCube remake is considered by fans and series' creator as the definitive vision. I think another go won't capture the feel properly. I think same goes for a remake of 4; that holds up perfectly now and a remake isn't warranted in my eyes.
Code Veronica on the other hand Ii'd welcome an update!
10pm. Spooky!
Village looks good, even if they do seem to be edging toward jumping the shark again. I’m sure they’ll be rebooting the franchise once more after another one or two instalments!
@kyleforrester87 This is jumping the shark in the RIGHT way Edging toward the weird and fantastical, rather than helicopter exploding, boulder-punching nonsense of 5 and 6.
@JB_Whiting yeah maybe. I don’t mind really, it’s got to keep evolving after all.
If they also announce code Veronica it’s going to be amazing :3
As much as I would LOVE a full remake of the first game using the RE engine because it is a beautiful thing, especially using the new Jill / Chris character models, new design Hunters etc, I also think it would be maybe milking it just one too many times. The GC version is now the definitive version, even more so than the original / director's cut versions, so they should just leave them in the past.
Code Veronica would be lovely, especially as it was a different experience to the older tank based games and hasn't been touched, bar the small tweaks to X, since the original versions way back when.
I do think they're going to announce the remake of Resident Evil 4 however, especially since
***SPOILERS*** Resident Evil 3 has been retroactively adjusted to tie in to the events of 4 and La Plaga etc ***END SPOILERS***
and also it just feels super awkward to play now. I've completed RE4 probably 20 times on the GC and 360, but I've struggled with the PS4 version due to the controls. It feels the same way like when I try and play games like GoldenEye again. I think the RE Engine could do some really interesting stuff with the setting as well. Here's hoping!
@Amin1998 For what it's worth, you can switch the tank controls to regular analog controls with sprint always on, on the Origins collection. That's what I do. You're stuck with the fixed camera, sadly.
Village looks like a spiritual successor to RE4 so far in terms of tone and atmosphere so I'm definitely interested. I enjoyed 7 quite a bit after the series started to slump so it will be exciting to see how they follow it up!
@Max_the_German To be fair. A lot of Irish and UK sites usually use this template. Ireland the UK are usually bracketed together.
Looking forward to it. I just wish it wasn’t first person again. It was good in 7 but I’d be more excited about this if it returned to third person view.
@thefourfoldroot
Please be the case
I want RE5 mercenaries mode.
i hope the PlayStation 1 resident evil series gets a release on disc for consoles and pc ,original and best!
Wonder if there's a reason for it being on PlayStation's channels too, aside from marketing.
