Playstation 3 Will Dominate In 3-5 Years

David Reeves is going to be leaving Sony soon, but before he goes, he'd like to make some predictions if that's gravy with you guys: "I don't think it will be next year, but in three to five years it will become dominant on the market," Reeves told industry site GamesIndustry

"The legacy will be that people will see a tortoise and hare situation. In a way, in the end it will be a dead heat. People will say [span.tagautolink autolink]PS3[/span] took a while to get going but it really caught up very quickly and confounded many of the critics from the first year."</blockquote>

While some people are calling "idiot" on Reeves right now, you have to stop and think: by 2012 both the 360 and Wii will be defunct. The Playstation 3, regardless of what people say, still harbours immense amounts of power and the capacity to grow indefinitely thanks to the cell, blu-ray and interchangeable hard-drives. It's likely by 2012 there will be a new Microsoft/Nintendo system on the market — the PS3 being half their price and offering a back catalogue of games almost 6 years old.
