The Playstation 3 Costs A Lot Less To Produce These Days.

In an investor call, Sony corporate CEO Nobuyuki Oneda confirmed that the Playstation 3's manufacturing costs are down by 70%.

Oneda initially stated, "We don't disclose how much of the PS3, specifically the cost deduction was achieved during the past two years. But that is on schedule." However when pushed he confirmed that production of the PS3 was down by about 70%.

We would absolutely be shocked if Sony didn't kick in Operation Pricedrop soon. In order for them to reach their financials, they have to make a big change before this year is out. If you don't have a Playstation 3 yet, there could very well be massive news around the corner.
