The recently announced Rock Band Network from Harmonix will open up an entirely new stream of revenue for unsigned bands (or smaller labels) by putting created tracks in the Rock Band experience. This is massive folks.

Rock Band Network will give musicians and labels the tools to upload their master tracks and create the gameplay for them. This means anybody will be able to get their tracks in the game. Of course this benefits everyone - Rock Band players get more content, bands get their music in a video game and Harmonix can boast about their wealth of content.

If you're not a musician but a big fan of Rock Band then you'll be involved too - you'll be able to moderate tracks before they're released to the public, checking the difficulty is correct, etc.

As unsigned "mess about" musicians ourselves, this really appeals big time to us.
