Apparently the reason for the slim (sigh - Ed) profit margin is because retailers are forced to sell the systems for the "sticker price" by Sony.
As time goes on, the costs of making the systems will hopefully go down and allow retailers to make more money off them. For now though, they should be content with the fact that Sony are likely to shift more platforms and as such, more software - something retailers are likely to get a better return on.
