The BBC were unable to repute Sony's claims that the Playstation 3's failure rate was any higher than one percent, with host Anne Robinson merely able to claim that "thousands" had broken, without clarification.
The show's stunt to fix systems outside of Sony's UK HQ also fell short; with those "experts" that "fixed" the machines having to admit that of the eleven cases of YLOD they "solved", four systems had since broken again.
The theme of the report was hard to distinguish; no doubt Sony will be annoyed by the bad publicity just as sales have turned a corner, but the educated consumer should know that the Playstation 3's hardware is very reliable; and the BBC were tonight unable to prove otherwise.
