In one of Jaffe's renowned vlogs, the outspoken developer talked about his pride in the Kratos character, and how he hoped his latest project could reach a similar milestone, noting that such treatment is usually reserved for sequels.

Maybe with the sequel, usually the first ones dont, you know you got to build your fan base and its gotta do well. But hopefully were on the road, one day we can get something like that for what were working on.</blockquote>
That kind of chatter lead PlaystationLifestyle to speculate that Jaffe's latest project may not be the Twisted Metal sequel everyone expects, and instead a new IP. But since then Jaffe's come out and clarified on his website, stating:
[quote]
"Just to be clear, I've never said we were or were NOT making a new Twisted Metal. Ever. But just to be 100% clear, if we were to make a new Twisted, I would consider it a reboot. The last console Twisted was 10 years ago. If we were to make a new one, we'd be starting with the assumption that no one knows what Twisted Metal is anymore and we'd have to re-earn each and every fan the series ever had. So in that sense, IF we were to ever make a new one, we'd consider it a brand new series/game/franchise."</blockquote>
The way Jaffe handled the reaction to his vlog pretty much confirms there's a new Twisted Metal in the works, albeit like Jaffe describes, a "reboot". So long as Sweet Tooth's in there we're game.
<span>Jaffe's likely to announce his latest title in the coming weeks.
