Monster Hunter is a game we just don't get. But Japanese folk love it, and they love it best on the PSP. Sure Monster Hunter Tri fared fine on the Wii, but can you imagine the numbers a PSP version would do? The PSP has practically become a viable platform because of Monster Hunter. It'd be earth-shattering we tell you.

Cue the frontcover from the latest issue of Hong Kong's Gamewave, which clearly says: "PSP Tri" alongside a picture of one of those dumb monster things everyone goes nuts about. The magazine reckons it'll be out before the end of the year.

PSP just got another year of life in Japan if true.
