This time they are "sources" of blogging website Joystiq and they're talking about "PSN+". Joystiq reckon the service is going to be announced at E3 2010, which corroborates other rumours we've heard ahead of the big show.
According to Joystiq, unlike Microsoft's XBOX Live service, PSN+ will focus on providing benefits to paying customers, rather than removing bits from non-paying customers. Joystiq reckon benefits for subscribers will include "access to a rotating list of PSP Minis and PSone Classics, exclusive in-game DLC, discounts to the PlayStation Store and "first hour" demo access to full retail titles". Apparently PSN+ subscribers will also receive protection for their consoles with the recently announced Playstation Protection Plan, alongside access to the long anticipated Cross Game Chat functionality.
Apparently PSN+ subscribers will also have the ability to utilise an auto-patching feature, which will detect, download and install updates for recently played PS3 titles on the system.
Joystiq are speculating a $9.99 per month price-tag for the service, but nothing's confirmed at this stage.
