The site notes, via a "highly placed source", that Sony's large-scale premium online service will not gimp any features currently enjoyed by Playstation Network users, and will instead provide additional functionality for those seeking it.
Of the expected features, Sony are set to announce that all PSN Premium subscribers will get a free PSN game each month, from a choice of "two to four".
If you work it out, PSN games cost an average of £6-9 each, so over a year youre basically going to be breaking even, said VG247's source.
VG247 also rumour that a music service similar to Spotify will launch alongside PSN Premium, allowing users to stream online audio during games.
As for cross-game chat, VG247's source notes that the feature will not be saved for premium users.
I can tell you now, 100 percent, that thats not the case, our man continued.
Theres nothing in the premium package which will gimp regular PSN users.
We speculated about a six-months ago that in order for Playstation Network Premium to be successful, it will need to provide additional functionality for paying users rather than less for non-Premium subscribers.
As for the price? "Less than £50-a-year," according to VG247. We shall see. Spotify type service sounds exciting, mind.
