There'll Be A Downloadable Red Faction Title Ahead Of The Retail Release On PSN.

Downloadable prequels are one of our favourite things right now — they allow you to get your hands on a game before the full package drops. That's cool. And it looks like THQ's set to do a similar thing with Red Faction: Armageddon.

Danny Bilson told CVG:

“There’s going to be a Red Faction Arcade game that ships about three or four months before Armageddon.

“What’s interesting is that we will sell it to the fans, it will have content you can download that is TV show-related, it will build up to the new game and also we can use it to drive pre-orders, too; we can give codes and aspects of it, we can give the whole thing away.”

Makes sense. A lot of sense actually. So long as the downloadable game represents good value for money (and isn't just a marketing tool) we can definitely get behind this kind of thing. THQ rocks right now.
