Using the PlayStation Move as a pointing device, players are able to select units, build structures and pan the camera. Great stuff.
According to Eurogamer, you can zoom in and out by putting the Move controller up and down, while flicking to the left and right to navigate menus.
Most excitingly, RUSE's senior designer Mathieu Girard has confirmed to Eurogamer that Ubisoft only started integrating Sony's tech into the game "four or five weeks" ago. In the scheme of things, that's not very long at all, and it bodes well for future PlayStation Move implementation if the practice really is that simple.
"I wasn't sure if it was just going to be a gadget," Girard said, "but it turns out it's a very cool and natural controller. We're very excited about it."
In fact, Girard actually went as far as to say that the Move version provides "the most enjoyable experience", though he was keen to emphasis that the mouse is still the most efficient. Still, the Move's likely to be an enormous step-up from DualShock controls, which have never really worked in Real Time Strategy games.
Multiplatform owners will also be keen to note that there'll be no Kinect support for this game — once again highlighting that the Move's slightly more simplistic approach is making its way into more games. Apparently, Ubisoft had issues with the Kinect requiring the player to stand... Yeah.
Still, the Move continues to get more and more tempting as far as we're concerned. And from a development side, it must be lovely to be able to implement good, solid controls in such a short span of time. We expect we'll see Move appear as an alternate control scheme in a lot more games in the future — which is what's so awesome about it. Exciting stuff.
